Love Island's Dejon denies being a nepo baby despite famous footballer dad and show legend best mate
ONE of the new Love Island hunks denied being a nepo baby, despite his premier league footballer dad and TV star friend. Dejon Noel-Williams is one of the latest singles hoping to find love on the ITV reality series and opened up about what he is looking forward to the most. 4 4 In a roundtable chat with media, Dejon spoke about his dad, Gifton Noel-Williams, 45, a professional footballer who had played for Stoke City, Watford and Burnley. The personal trainer and semi-professional footballer in his own right said his dad was proud of his "football journey."and has already worked with a string of big name sportswear brands. When asked about what he thought of being labelled a "nepo baby," a modern term for someone whose success has been on the back of nepotism, Dejon admitted he'd never heard the term. "Now that I've been called a nepo baby, I don't know how to react," he said. The accusations of being a nepo baby were also put to Dejon over his friendship with former Love Islander, Tyrique Hyde. "I've known him since we were kids, like babies," Dejon said, adding, "my dad and his dad played for the same team and they were best friends." "As we got older, we had similar interests. We played for the same teams and we played against each other at football." As for his own footballing career, Dejon currently plays for Bedford Town having previously featured for Oxford United, Wealdstone, Guadalajara and the Grenada national team. "I was the first in my family to represent our family name internationally. I played international football," Dejon told The Sun. Recently, Dejon was questioned by police after being accused of stealing a woman's phone on a night out. He told The Sun: 'I was never arrested. 'I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken. "To stress, my intentions here were entirely honourable and it is very upsetting to read claims that suggest otherwise.' ITV was aware of the incident with Dejon when he secured his place on the show, a spokesman confirmed. This year's series has already seen a shake-up with Love Island prospect, Kyle Ashman axed from the show after he was arrested over a machete attack. Love Island 2025 start date Love Island 2025 will start at 9pm on Monday, June 9, when Maya Jama will welcome a host of new contestants into the villa. As usual, the show starts on ITV2 the week following the Late May Bank Holiday — a Love Island tradition.

Move over nepo babies... it's time for the rise of nepo parents! From Jack Whitehall's parents podcast tour to Romesh Raganathan's iconic mum
He is one of the UK's most loved comedians starring in the hit series Bad Education and regularly hosting the BRIT Awards. However Jack Whitehall is at serious risk of being outshone by his parents Michael and Hilary, who thanks to their son have become famous in their own right. While the rise of the nepo baby has been well documented with many celebrity offspring being accelerated into the spotlight, it appears there is also a market for nepo parents. Michael, 85, rose to fame after starring on his travel documentary Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father alongside the comedian. The hit series, which ran for five seasons from 2017 until 2021, propelled Michael into the limelight. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Michael and his wife went on to launch their own podcast The Wittering Whitehalls in 2022, which has since had over five million downloads. The couple have also appeared together in Celebrity Goggle Box Stand Up To Cancer, as well as Chris and Rosie Ramsey's TV Show. The trio also co-authored the book How to Survive Family Holidays. And now Michael and Hilary are stepping out without Jack as they bring their hit podcast The Wittering Whitehalls, to the stage later this year. They promise an evening of unfiltered wisdom, wit, sage advice and opinions, drawn from nearly 40 years of marriage, bringing up three children and their onward journey with grandchildren. But they aren't the only parents to launch new found career success off the back of their children's popularity. Just like Jack and Michael's popular travel show, similarly Russell Howard recruited his mum for a road trip reality series. Russell Howard & Mum: USA Road Trip saw the comedian and his mum Ninette drive around the USA in a minivan as they met people with a range of unusual hobbies and obsessions. After airing on Comedy Central back in 2016, the pair went on to film three more series' including Russell Howard & Mum: Globetrotters which saw them also visit India, Thailand and Vietnam. Meanwhile Romesh Ranganathan's mum Shanthi has become a much-loved figure in her own right thanks to various TV appearances alongside her son. Romesh's family faced a turbulent time after his father Ranga left his mother Shanthi when the comic was just 12. Originally, he and his younger brother Dinesh attended Reigate Grammar School, but were forced to move to a local comprehensive when their father was jailed for fraud and their family home was repossessed. Romesh and his mother were forced to live in a B&B for 18 months before they finally found a council house. And his close bond with his mum is evident and she has featured in a range of shows including BBC Three series Asian Provocateur, Just Another Immigrant and BBC Two show The Ranganation. Most recently she appeared on Romesh's ITV show Parents Evening alongside Alison Hammond and her son Aidan, Carol Vorderman with her son Cameron, and Iain Stirling with his mum Alison. Comedian Adam Buxton has also worked with his late father, who was a travel writer for the Daily Telegraph and wine critic. Nigel Buxton was most known for appearing as BaaadDad in the Channel 4 comedy series The Adam and Joe Show as he frequently served as the butt of their jokes. Nigel sadly died from complications arising from lung cancer at Adam's Norfolk home back in 2015. The rise of the nepo parents has surprised Michael most of all as he spoke about turning the podcast into the live thing. He said: 'The Wittering Whitehalls as a Podcast seemed a strange idea; What was a Podcast? But turning it into a Live show seems even stranger. 'But who knows? I never thought Travels with my Father would work. Come and see us and decide for yourself.' Hilary added: 'It's bad enough trying to keep Michael under control at home. What on earth am I doing carting him around the country and putting him in front of live audiences? I must be mad. 'Where's Jack Whitehall when I need him? I'll just have to rely on marital banter, squabbles and laughter. Come and join the fun!'

Bridgerton actress and her very famous mother hit back against nepo baby claims
Bridgerton star Bessie Carter and her famous mother Imelda Staunton have hit back against ' nepo baby ' claims in a new interview. The actress, 31, is the daughter of The Crown and Harry Potter star Imelda and Downton Abbey icon Jim Carter. The pair have never worked on the same project until now where they are both starring in the theatre production Mrs Warren's Profession in London. But Bessie insists she has made her career happen on her own and 'doesn't really care' about the term 'nepo baby' being used. She told The Independent: 'I have a lot of drive to make stuff happen myself, instead of waiting for the phone to ring. 'Some people might use that phrase (nepo baby), but I don't really care. I believe in myself and my trajectory being what it is, and I've never used my parents, ever, to get any work.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Supporting her statement Imelda added: 'There seem to be about 22 million more actors now. During the time of Maggie [Smith] and Robert Stephens [the late parents of the actor Toby Stephens], you could count actors with that level of celebrity on one hand. 'Now it's not unusual for children to have parents who are also actors, simply because there are so many of them.' A synopsis for Mrs Warren's Profession at the Garrick Theatre reads: 'Vivie Warren is a woman ahead of her time. 'Estranged from her wealthy mother, she delights in a glass of whisky, a good detective story, and is determined to carve herself a sparkling legal career in an age ruled by men. Her mother, however, is a product of that old patriarchal order. Exploiting it has earned Mrs. Warren a fortune and paid for her daughter's expensive education – but at what cost?' Bessie graced the cover of May's Tatler issue recently where she opened up about her acting power couple parents. She is the daughter of Imelda and Jim - though many didn't know this when she rose to fame on the period Netflix show as the obnoxious Prudence Featherington. Now she is starring as Nancy Mitford in new six-episode series Outrageous which follows the lives of the Mitford sisters and is based on Mary S Lovell's biography. Speaking to the publication she was full of praise for her parents and their successful careers - and says she took inspiration from her mother Imelda for her latest role. Imelda famously played The Queen in the later series of The Crown which Bessie says helped her in playing real people too - including her new part as Nancy Mitford. She said of playing real people: 'We're not imitating them, but we're taking the essence of them and trying to regurgitate it as truth. 'It's something my mother had to go to town with given that the Queen was so known by everyone… she smashed it! 'I think that's such a hard line, but really doing the voice and the physicality and then bringing your own proof to it, that's the fun.' She added that she is grateful that her parents 'know what life as an actor is like' and 'what filming days are like'. Bessie explained: 'They know that when I'm on my way home I might not have the energy to talk on the phone because they know how all-consuming it is. We just know the game.' During the Tatler interview she didn't mention her boyfriend Sam Phillips who she met filming the last series of Bridgerton. Last May MailOnline revealed that despite their characters not interacting on the show, the actors began dating after meeting on set of season three. Filming for the series began in July 2022 and wrapped in March 2023, with Bessie moving into Sam's flat in Brighton three months later. Bessie played the role of Prudence Featherington on the hit Netflix show, while Sam, 39, played Nicola Coughlan 's character Penelope's new suitor Lord Debling. The pair have been photographed at several events with her family, including alongside Bessie's famous parents. The furthest back they have been pictured was in May 2023 where they looked cosy at a theatre event - suggesting they could have been together a good while. Last year rumours began to swirl on TikTok that the pair could be an item, with one content creator posting a recent video titled: 'Bridgerton co-stars that are dating in real life'. Many were quick to comment on the rumours as one said: 'Okayyyy featherington sisters bagging the hot ones!' Another said: 'They're so cute!!', while a third penned: 'I love this so much!' Representatives for Bessie and Sam have been contacted by MailOnline for comment. The pair were first pictured together in May 2023 as they attended the Theatrical Consequences: The 5th Annual Platform Presents West End Gala after party at Tequila Mockingbird in London. Then in November 2023 the pair attended the Wonka premiere together with Bessie's famous actress mother Imelda, 68. They posed as a trio with Imelda stood in the middle - suggesting Sam had been introduced to her side of the family some time before. Then in December 2023 Bessie her famous dad Jim, 75, accompanied Sam to The Crown season 6 finale celebration event. He plays the Queen's Equerry Stephen Chambers in season 3 and 4 of Netflix's The Crown.

Nepo-baby with music legend dad is a TikTok star – but can you guess her famous parent?
THIS nepo-baby was born into music royalty, thanks to her famous father. Although she has opted for a life in the spotlight, she has chosen social media as her path to fame and is a TikTok star - but can guess who her rocker dad is? 7 7 7 7 This nepo-baby is Stella Buckingham, who is the daughter of Fleetwood Mac star Lindsey Buckingham. Her mum is the famous guitarist and singer's ex-wife Kristen Messner. Stella, 21, is now forging a career for herself as a TikTok star. Going under the handle @stelllabuckingham, she posts videos of herself lip-syncing and getting involved with the latest TikTok crazes. The nepo-baby also features her famous dad in her videos, and can be seen pranking him in a few. Stella has almost 20K followers and a whopping 700 likes so far. PARENTS' DIVORCE Stella's mum and dad filed for divorce in 2021, after over two decades together. The former couple tied the knot in 2000 and, along with Stella who is the youngest, they are parents to William, 26, and Leelee, 24. Stella's parents met when Kristen photographed him for one of his solo albums. Lindsey previously revealed he waited 'a long time' for Kristen after dating a lot of "crazy" girlfriends. Fleetwood Mac perform iconic track The Chain on the 1997 The Dance tour He told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2011: "I had a lot of crazy girlfriends, and a lot of that was just an outgrowth of the lifestyle we were all leading. 'I did see a lot of friends who were parents and spouses — back in previous decades — who weren't really there and kind of screwed up their kids, and were not there for their family situations. "So I waited and I was lucky enough to meet someone relatively late. 'So it's worked out really well. I got all that other garbage out of the way.' Lindsey also famously dated one-time bandmate Stevie Nicks and the pair wrote some of their most famous songs following their split, including Go Your Own Way. FLEETWOOD MAC STAR Lindsey joined the world famous band Fleetwood Mac in 1975. Together with Stevie, the band was formed of Mick Fleetwood, and Christine and John McVie. Lindsey first left the band in acrimonious circumstances in 1987. He then rejoined when the group reformed in 1997 but again left under a cloud, amid rows over a forthcoming tour in 2018. 7 Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the time, Mick Fleetwood admitted the acrimonious exit of Lindsey could have marked the end of one of rock's great names. He said: 'Lindsey's departure was traumatic and a major change for the band, but we decided we wanted to carry on. We made the decision together. "Of course, we could have just stopped and it probably would have been an easy point to stop, but we definitely didn't want to. 'Lindsay left fairly acrimoniously and we weren't getting on well any more, and yes, it is a happier ship to be on. "We have two new people in the band who have been hugely accepted and welcomed, but in many ways it does amaze me that we are still here all these years later, after all of the ups and downs."

Hilary Duff's nepo baby lands major modeling gig at age 13
Hilary Duff 's eldest child is the latest ' nepo baby ' to enter the modeling world. On Thursday, the Disney Channel alum, 37, revealed that her son Luca, 13, stars in the latest campaign for Zara's kids clothing line. Duff — who is believed to be plotting a 'pop comeback' — proudly shared Luca's shots from the campaign to her Instagram Story. The shoot showed the teenager — who Duff shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie, 44 — covered in colorful stickers as he posed in a shiny red convertible. The second shot Duff posted looked candid as the photographer seemingly snapped Luca mid-conversation as he stood in front of a white backdrop in a parking lot. Luca modeled an oversized blue T-shirt, kaki shorts and brown suede sneakers, which are pieces from Zara's Spring Summer 2025 collection for boys. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Duff captioned her IG Story posts with Luca's name as well as by tagging the official Instagram account for Zara Kids. The rest of the shoot, which has a funky, vintage summer theme, was shared by Zara Kids on Thursday. Luca looked extremely comfortable in front of the camera as he modeled more pieces from the new line with towering palm trees and tall LA buildings in the background. Fans of Duff quickly flocked to the comments to call Luca's collaboration with Zara 'brilliant.' Luca is just one of many kids of the Hollywood elite who are now trying to make their mark on the fashion industry. Nicole Kidman's teen daughter Sunday Rose, 16, made her runway debut for Miu Miu last year. NBA star Dwyane Wade's daughter Zaya Wade, 17, has nabbed major modeling gigs in the years since she came out as transgender in 2020. Supermodel Kate Moss' only child Lila Moss, 22, has been dominating runways around the globe since she was 18-years-old. Many of the top models in fashion, including Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid, happen to have famous parents. Along with Luca, Duff is also mom to daughters Banks, six, Mae, four, and Townes, one. While Duff shares her three daughters with current spouse Matthew Koma, Luca's father is former hockey player Mike Comrie. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zara Kids (@zarakids) Duff and Comrie divorced in 2016 after six years of marriage but have seemingly maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship. Duff welcomed Luca back in 2012 and he recently celebrated his 13th birthday in March. To honor the milestone, Duff shared never-before-seen photos of the teenager to Instagram along with a heartfelt caption. Luca looked just like his famous mother in the rare snaps, which showed him being a sweet big brother to his baby sisters. 'Wow,' Duff began in her gushing caption dedicated to her eldest child, her only son, on his birthday. 'Is time ever a thief. I thought ten years of being a mom felt wild... yet here I am at my son's 13th birthday.' In her caption, she also wrote: 'I can't go anywhere without people telling me what a nice kid Luca is. Sweet, heart facing forward with the coolest point of view.' Duff praised her son's intelligence, even admitting that he 'knows more' than her because she 'didn't have a "normal" schooling experience.' She listed the many activities she enjoys sharing with him, adoringly highlighting 'the best' parts of him, before concluding that the very best part is being his mom. 'He can talk anyone under the table about soccer, players dating back to the 70's, specific games that defined history,' she wrote in her caption. 'He's an amazing creative drawer, a beautiful writer (hopefully more of that in the future) and I *think* taking a new interest in history,' she continued. 'It's been so fun listening as he talks about the world's history — since I didn't have a "normal" schooling experience,' she wrote. 'There are definitely some gaps and it's sure cool to have the tables turned and see how much more he knows more than me. 'Just in this one instance of course,' the Lizzie McGuire alum joked. 'It's so cool to see his interest shift, his confidence sure footedness and knowing being learned.' She gushed: 'My only son. I love you more than the moon and as far as all the stars in the sky. 'Hanging with you is the best. Getting a text from you .. the best. Talking late and snacking in the kitchen is the best. Driving you is the best (even though you forget all your s***),' she added. 'Watching you play soccer is the best. Listening to hip hop with you is the best (let's gooo Kendrick and lil tecca). 'The kind of big brother you are is the best. Your smile is the best. Your humor is the best. You being fully YOU is the best. Being your mom is the BEST. 'HAPPY 13 Angel, forever standing by to cheer you on. -mom,' she wrote, concluding her sweet birthday post. Seemingly after she shared the post, her son sent her a text and told her that she 'put a big smile' on his face. 'Sweet Luc, I'm so d*** lucky I got you. Proud doesn't even [begin to] describe [it],' she wrote to him. 'Glad your [sic] having a good birthday I could hear it in your voice.'
