easyJet announce 11 new routes from Newcastle Airport
easyJet launches 11 new summer 2026 routes from Newcastle, expanding connectivity across Europe and North Africa and boosting regional tourism and employment. easyJet and easyJet holidays have revealed 11 new routes from Newcastle Airport for summer 2026, with thousands of package holidays now on sale to the range of brand-new destinations. New services are set to take off from next summer to Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey, Greek Islands Rhodes and Corfu, Algarve gateway of Faro in Portugal, Mediterranean island Malta, Spanish city Reus, cultural hotspot Prague and the first route connecting Newcastle to Nice in the south of France. Direct connections to North Africa are also set to operate from Newcastle, with services to the popular Egyptian resort of Sharm-El-Sheikh and Enfidha in Tunisia. The network expansion comes following the news that easyJet will open a new three-aircraft base at Newcastle Airport in spring 2026. easyJet already serves eight domestic connections and international routes from Newcastle to popular beach and city destinations Alicante, Amsterdam, Geneva, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Bristol and Belfast. The opening of the base with the addition of three aircraft at the airport has enabled the airline to more than double the number of destinations now on its network, providing more choice for customers in the North East, Southern Scotland, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, helping to support vital UK connectivity as well as supporting around 1,200 UK jobs including 130 direct jobs.* Ali Gayward, easyJet's Country Manager, said: 'We are really pleased to be able to announce this fantastic range of new routes from our new base at Newcastle for next summer. Eurostar to launch two new London routes to Frankfurt and Geneva
The operator on Tuesday (10 June) said it would seek to serve Frankfurt and Geneva from London starting in the early 2030s, taking advantage of Eurostar's aim to grow its fleet with up to 50 new trains. A third new route running between Amsterdam/Brussels to Geneva is also planned. Meanwhile, following the reinstatement in February of services from London to Rotterdam and Amsterdam after an eight-month pause, Eurostar will add two more frequencies on this route this year – the first departing from 9 September and the second from mid-December. 'We're seeing strong demand for train travel across Europe, with customers wanting to go further by rail than ever before and enjoy the unique experience we provide,' said Eurostar chief executive Gwendoline Cazenave. Transport secretary Heidi Alexander welcomed the announcement, claiming Eurostar's investment showed the government's plans to deliver rail routes to central Europe were 'rapidly strengthening the links between major cities in countries across Europe, creating more opportunities to travel, work and socialise'. To support this growth, Eurostar is investing €2 billion in up to 50 new trains, which will operate alongside its current fleet of 17 e320 trains – the ones currently used on its cross-Channel routes – and bring its total fleet up to 67 trains. 'Despite the challenging economic climate, Eurostar is growing and has bold ambitions for the future,' Cazenave added.

Breeze Airways Adds 21 New Routes in the U.S.—and Fares Start at $39
Get ready for more low-cost flight options coming your way. Budget carrier Breeze Airways announced it is launching service from two new cities in the fall: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Salisbury, Maryland. Flights from Salisbury Regional Airport (SBY) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) will start on Oct. 1 on Mondays and Fridays, with an introductory fare beginning at $59. From Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), routes will launch to Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) on Nov. 5 with introductory fares beginning at $59, and to Wilmington International Airport (ILM) on Nov. 7, with introductory fares that begin at $39. Additionally, the airline will launch 25 new routes, which includes 17 nonstop journeys, across its network that will also begin flying in autumn. Travelers can book any of the new Breeze Airways routes as of May 7. 'After adding an astounding 29 new cities and 88 routes to our network last year and announcing seven new cities and 40 routes so far this year, Breeze is quickly becoming the fastest growing airline in the industry,' David Neeleman, Breeze Airways' founder and CEO, said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure . 'This growth is thanks to the incredible demand travelers have for our service and is evidence of the incredible value our Guests experience when flying with Breeze. Thanks to them, we look forward to bringing that value to more communities across the nation as we continue to grow.' The new routes will fly out of 19 different airports.
