Prince William's Absence At King Charles And Prince Harry's 'Peace Summit' Branded A 'Warning Shot'
Prince Harry and King Charles recently arranged a private meeting between their top aides, sparking speculation about reconciliation. However, royal experts believe Prince William's absence signals tension, with concerns he distrusts Harry and Meghan. While King Charles is said to seek peace, partly influenced by his battle with cancer, doubts persist after the meeting's details leaked. Prince William Keeps His Distance Amid King Charles And Prince Harry's 'Peace Summit' Although Harry and King Charles seem to be heading toward reconciliation, royal experts believe there's one key figure who's unlikely to forgive or forget any time soon. Royal analyst Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that Prince William's absence from the talks was no accident. "The important issue is that Prince William and his representatives were not invited," Turner said. He added, "I feel that this was a warning shot across William's bows that Charles is king – not him. … It may also be a stark warning that Charles will decide what happens during his reign, not William." As reported by The Blast, Harry's chief of staff, Meredith Maines, traveled from California to London to meet with King Charles' top aide, Tobyn Andreae. Liam Maguire, head of U.K. communications for Harry and Meghan, also attended the confidential meeting. The low-key meeting is said to have taken place at the Royal Over-Seas League — a private members' club just a short stroll from Clarence House, Charles' London residence. Prince William's Distrust Of His Younger Brother Remains A Stumbling Block On The Road To Peace Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggested to the publication that William was likely informed about the private meeting between Charles' and Harry's aides, but deliberately kept his own team out of it. "The king is still battling cancer and is in his late 70s," Fitzwilliams said. "He wants a relationship with his grandchildren, whom he has hardly met. He is also temperamentally more accommodating than William. But [William] cannot trust the Sussexes. They must know it." Fitzwilliams added, "The prospect of seeing the Sussexes at royal events would enrage the monarchy's loyal supporters. … Of course, reconciliation is desirable [for the king]. It would, however, come at a price." King Charles Hopes For Healing With Prince Harry, But Experts Warn Prince William's Absence Could Widen Rift British broadcaster Helena Chard echoed the sentiment, telling the news outlet that personal healing between Charles and Harry could be meaningful. "From a positive private family stance, some personal healing between father and son would be good," Chard said. "King Charles will always love his son, and, in light of the king's ongoing cancer treatment, it could help tidy up the messy, fractured relationship. She further noted that the monarch's health has likely prompted deeper reflection about his relationship with his son. "King Charles is living with cancer, which makes his family situation very sad," Chard explained. "I'm sure he is thinking about his mortality and reevaluating his life. He would not want a family feud tarnishing his positive contributions and memory. I'm sure he will also want to clear up unresolved issues or surprises that could lead to further resentment and conflict between his two sons.' However, Chard cautioned that without Prince William's involvement, achieving long-term peace may be difficult. "Life is too short for battles," she continued. "However, without Prince William's inclusion in the rapprochement, I can't see a positive outcome. It could also cause a wedge between Charles and William, despite the king most certainly consulting with William." Royal Expert Slams 'Peace Summit' Leak British royal commentator Hilary Fordwich expressed skepticism over the so-called 'peace summit,' casting doubt on its sincerity. "My instincts say that Harry is desperate," Fordwich claimed. "And King Charles loves his son and wants to have a restored relationship. However, this tentative step in any fragile peace process was marred by the leak of the meeting's details and photos." Fordwich continued, "How on Earth was the media there?. … Both sides [have] expressed frustration regarding how such a leak jeopardizes the process, with now suspicions and distrust being resurrected.' Prince William's Distrust Of The Sussexes Might Have Deepened After The Leak Fordwich suggested William likely sees the leak as yet another reason to stay distant from Harry and Meghan. "Prince William is likely viewing this leak as being true to form for the Sussexes," she said. "It further reinforces his stance that any reconciliation or indeed dialogue with the Sussexes will become public." Royal expert Helena Chard echoed the concern, questioning how such a private meeting had become public knowledge so quickly. "The trust line seems to have been overstepped yet again," Chard observed. "The story broke as the Prince and Princess of Wales received glowing media attention at Wimbledon." She continued, "This was promptly overshadowed by the leaked reconciliation story. ...The PR machine is seemingly in full play. It wouldn't surprise me if everything was filmed and will soon be featured in a new Netflix show.' Solve the daily Crossword

‘PR stunt': Royal expert says Prince William will never forgive Prince Harry
A royal expert has said that Prince William will never forgive his brother as the Duke of Sussex makes an attempt to reconcile with his family. It comes amid speculation about the Duke of Sussex, 40, reconciling with his father after senior aides to Harry and the King were snapped meeting in London. The secret peace summit has sparked rumour that a reconciliation between Harry and his father is in the works but Prince William's aides were snubbed. At least three representatives from either side were seen speaking at the Royal Over-Seas League which sits just three minutes from Clarence House. It is unclear which side initiated the summit. A royal expert has now revealed that Harry and William coming to good terms again seems a far off prospect after the damage done to their relationship over the years. Speaking about the meeting between Harry and his father's aides royal expert Mr Hugo Vickers said he believed there's 'always a hope for reconciliation... if both sides are prepared to talk'. 'I don't think it's all gone too far,' he told The Sun. 'It's always good to talk. Lots can come out of talking, and you know it could perhaps lead to something. 'We don't know what they talked about or what their plans were. But that's a good sign.' However, there have been subsequent reports of Harry and Meghan's alleged frustration that the meeting made headlines. A representative denied their team leaked details of the chat. But Mr Vickers believed it wasn't by coincidence talks between Liam Maguire, Tobyn Andreae, and Meredith Maines were held on a visible balcony. 'We have to ask ourselves, did some random figure pass by and say, 'oh, hello There's Tobyn Andreae talking to the Sussex team - take a photograph and sell it to the newspapers'. 'That seems to me to be a bit far-fetched. I think it's first of all very odd to have a meeting on a balcony if it's meant to be private. 'And so, secondly, it looks to me as though somebody leaked it, and the obvious people to do that would be the Sussex team. 'Having done that, of course it's also absolutely in keeping that they would then deny having done so. 'I don't think it would be Buckingham Palace. I don't see what possible gain they would have out of leaking it. I don't think that they are particularly leakers where I'm afraid I think the Sussex team are.' But if Harry and Meghan did want the press to get hold of these details, it brings to light questions surrounding motivation for the meeting in the first place. 'Well, they always want to stay in the news, because they are celebrities now,' said Mr Vicker. 'They have to come up with a good news story and let's face it, If there's a thought of reconciliation, then this is a good story, because the relations between Prince Harry and his father and his brother particularly, have been very bad, which is sad. 'We know that the King has stated. I mean even Prince Harry mentions that in his memoirs, that he didn't want his last years to be made miserable between with rows with his son between his sons.' Despite hopes of a reunion between the King and his son Mr Vickers warns a cheery reunion with Will is a far less likely possibility. He said: 'So as for William. It's much more difficult because the barbs were sent in his direction from Prince Harry, but very much directed towards Catherine. 'That is very insulting, and I think William is likely to be more of an unforgiving person than his father.' Mr Vickers added: 'I think at the moment, if I was advising Prince Harry, I would say, get onto good terms with your father as soon as possible, and then that's step one and step two, try to get on good terms with your brother.' Harry previously revealed in a bombshell BBC interview that he had 'forgiven' his family and reconciliation was now down to Charles. The feud between the Duke and his family started when he and Meghan announced on January 8, 2020, that they would be stepping down as 'senior' members of the Royal Family. Since then it was revealed that Harry has limited contact with his father the King along with a slew of other revelations about the family feud. There was hope for reconciliation last year when Harry travelled to the UK to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his Invictus Games. However, the King and Harry failed to meet due to the Monarch's 'full program'. The Duke was offered to spend his time at one of the royal apartments - however he turned it down in what was branded a snub to his father. Meanwhile, Princes William and Harry have not been in direct communication since the release of Harry's controversial memoir, Spare, in January 2023. Their last reported interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, but conversations were said to be brief. The feuding brothers reportedly did not speak to each other despite standing 'virtually back to back' among mourners at their uncle's memorial service last year. The brothers have been at loggerheads since Harry and wife Meghan quit royal duty in 2020 for a new life in the US, where they have launched a succession of barbs at the Royal Family. Growing up, Wills and Harry shared many of the same friends who were part of their close, tight-knit circle. But their relationship took a sour turn after Harry lobbed vile allegations against the Prince of Wales in his memoir Spare. In the book, he claimed William had physically attacked him and knocked him to the floor in 2019 and made insulting comments about Meghan. The Sussexes had also targeted Princess Kate, when Meghan claimed the royal made her cry. The bitter feud was ignited with full force when the Sussexes told Oprah, in their 2021 sit down interview, that certain members of the Royal Family had speculated about Prince Archie's skin colour. However it was recently revealed that Harry had 'given his blessing' for peace talks between his and his father's senior aides to go ahead. It sparked a slew of reconciliation rumours with aides discussing potential ways to end their family conflict, though a proposal for Harry to make a royal return was not on the agenda. Despite the apparently hopeful move it was revealed that Prince William's aides were not involved in the London meeting. Harry has previously hinted at bad blood between him and his brother making reconciliation a distant prospect.

Royal aides for King Charles, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle meet at private London club
In the clearest sign yet of a possible reconciliation between Prince Harry and the royal family, the estranged parties' had their aides meet for a 'significant' peace summit in London. The Mail on Sunday photographed the all-important meeting at private members club Royal Over-Seas Lounge, of which King Charles III is a patron, on Wednesday. The pictures showed Charles' communications secretary Tobyn Andreae sitting at a table on the garden terrace with Meredith Maines, the chief of communications for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Also present was Liam Maguire, who runs the public relations team for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the UK. 'There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,' a source told the Mail on Sunday. 'There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about.' It's unclear who arranged the supposed peace talks, though Prince Harry, 40, has recently signalled his desire to reconcile with his family following Charles' cancer diagnosis being announced last February. The pair had been feuding since Harry left the UK for a new life in America with Meghan and their son, Archie, in early 2020. They later welcomed daughter Lilibet in 2021. A source told the outlet the secret meeting was a 'significant' step in repairing the damage. 'The King has consistently shown he loves both his sons and, as he has done in the past, is prepared to meet Harry when their diaries allow,' the source said. 'It's not unusual for aides from different households to meet, especially when there is a new influx of staff starting, but this is a significant moment. 'If there is a period of calm and reflection on the part of the duke, then there be a way forward for him to begin along the road of repairing his relationship with his father.' However, the source added Harry's relationship with his older brother, Prince William, was a 'different matter entirely.' '[It's] one which he [Harry] will find much harder to repair,' they said. Following mounting reports of fractures within the royal fold, tensions first flared publicly when Harry and Meghan, 43, quit as senior royals and moved to the US. They then sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in which, most notably, Meghan accused an unidentified member of the royal family of casual racism regarding her then unborn son. The pair also signed a string of multimillion-dollar deals which saw them produce bombshell tell-all content, including for their Netflix documentary and Harry's memoir, Spare. But the tides appear to have turned for Harry in recent months. After losing his legal challenge over his stripped taxpayer-funded security in the UK in May, Harry sat down with the BBC where he declared his hopes for reconciliation. 'I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious,' he said. Harry added the King 'won't speak to me because of this security stuff', but that he wanted to let it go because he didn't 'know how much longer my father has.'

Huge Prince Harry update as he arranges peace summit with King Charles ‘within weeks' – but has no plans to meet William
PRINCE Harry is ready to talk to his dad the King after approving a peace summit between their aides last week. Harry is said to have 'given his blessing' for the talks involving two of his team plus the King and Queen's director of communications. 10 10 They spoke about potential ways to end the conflict, though a proposal for Harry to make a royal return was not on the agenda. Adding intrigue to the developments, Prince William's team were not involved in the London summit. California-based Harry is next due to visit the UK in September for the annual WellChild events. It opens up the prospect of meeting his father for the first time in 18 months. In September the King should still be on holiday at his Balmoral retreat, ahead of hosting US President Donald Trump in the middle of the month. Yesterday Charles, 76 — whose cancer treatment continues — was pictured leaving a church service in the West Country. In May Harry appeared to have torpedoed reconciliation efforts during a catastrophic and ill- advised interview with the BBC in which he moaned 'the King won't speak to me'. But photos published at the weekend showed the King and Queen's director of communications Tobyn Andreae with Meredith Maines, chief communications officer for Harry's charity Archewell, and its UK and Europe communications manager Liam Maguire. They met on the balcony of the members-only Royal Over-Seas League club a short walk from Buckingham Palace before continuing inside. It is understood the face-to-face meeting was held to discuss avoiding media clashes and conflicts around calendar dates. I know the exact moment Prince Harry had second thoughts about how he's treated the king Discussions were not held about Prince Harry returning to any more formal royal role. A source claimed: 'The meeting was with Harry's blessing.' Buckingham Palace had also supported the proposals to 'open a channel of communication' — having agreed to them within the past two weeks, it has been claimed. There was no contact between Harry's team and that working for William and Kate — or any invitation for face-to-face meetings. Yesterday the Prince and Princess of Wales watched the Wimbledon men's singles final from the Royal Box with eldest children George, 11, and Charlotte, ten. In September Kate and William will be returning from their summer break with a string of major engagements. There have also been claims Harry will invite members of his estranged family to the Invictus Games when it is held in Birmingham in two years' time. Just two months ago Harry hit out at his father in a BBC interview. It came just hours after he lost a High Court case asking for taxpayer-funded gun cops despite not being a working royal. Before the interview was aired royal sources told The Sun the King had been 'frustrated' by Harry's behaviour and 'an improvement in relations remains to be seen'. The sources added: 'The King is at heart a loving and generous man. 'That love has been sorely tested by this case and so many other issues over recent times. 10 10 'But there is now a chance for his son to move forwards rather than dwell on past grievances. 'From his father's perspective, the door has been shut by necessity while this painful issue played out through the proper judicial channels — but it has not been locked for ever nor the key thrown away." The Palace was stunned when before the sentiment was made public Harry launched his TV attack branding the ruling an 'old-fashioned establishment stitch up'. He resorted to speaking about his dad again saying: 'I don't know how much longer my father has — he won't speak to me because of this security stuff but it would be nice to reconcile.' In a potential reference to Prince William, he added 'some members of my family will never forgive me' for writing his tell-all memoir Spare, published in January 2023. I miss parts of the UK, and I think that it's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland Harry to the BBC in 2020 Harry went on to say: 'It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. 'If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them.' And Harry said: 'There is no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious.' 10 Any prospect of a return to the UK for him Meghan and their children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, was impossible given the security ruling, he said. Harry, who moved to the US in 2020, told the BBC he 'can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back at this point'. He added: 'I miss parts of the UK, and I think that it's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland.' The King and his youngest son have barely spoken for years after Harry trashed his family with an Oprah Winfrey interview, six-part Netflix show and the memoir. Harry flew to the UK 18 months ago after Charles's cancer diagnosis, but was given just 30 minutes with his dad then was not allowed to join him at Sandringham. Last summer the Palace was stunned when Harry's team announced the King was too busy to see him when he flew over for an Invictus Games event. This May, just days after the gun cops ruling, Harry was spotted on a doorbell camera knocking at wrong doors as he searched for a pal's West London home. Last week there were claims in the US that Harry and Meghan were struggling for money. Sources close to the Sussexes are said to be frustrated by details of last week's meeting emerging, and deny leaking them. There is said to be a 'weary disappointment' in the Palace over the photos and leaking of the talks. Buckingham Palace and Archewell declined to comment. 10 10 10 Wills must beware of bid for rift By Matt Wilkinson WHILE all eyes were on Harry and the King's spin doctors together having fun in the sun, it was more revealing to see who wasn't there. The King's communications chief Tobyn Andreae turned up with a bottle as a gift for Sussex aides Meredith Maines and Liam Maguire. But there was not a seat at the members' club balcony for anyone from Team William. The Sussexes appear to be offering the hand of friendship — but are they trying to force a wedge between the King and future King? William is right to stick to his guns as he is in a better head space now, is no longer seething and has moved on — but is still waiting for Harry to apologise. While Harry love-bombs his dad — who has not locked the door or thrown away the key to reconciliation — let's not forget it has been his older brother who has consistently made big gestures. It was William who kindly took himself and Kate out of the procession at Harry and Meghan's last royal engagement, the 2020 Commonwealth Day ceremony, after learning the Sussexes had been removed. It was William who stood shoulder to shoulder with Harry to unveil a statue of their mum Diana at Kensington Palace months after the Oprah Winfrey interview. It was William who agreed to wear a morning suit at Prince Philip's funeral instead of military uniform to spare Harry's blushes. It was William who invited the Sussexes to join him to look at Windsor flowers for the late Queen Elizabeth II. William has never publicly trashed his family. The King and William should hopefully see through any attempt to divide them and they must stick together.
