Police: Report of shots fired in Hampton
A person of interest is in custody following a report of shots fired in Hampton on Thursday night.
According to a press release, no one was injured in the incident.
Hampton Police responded to sounds of shots fired in the area of Ocean Boulevard and G St. at about 7:35 p.m.
Officers in the area were able to quickly form a perimeter and identify a suspect, police said, adding they located and secured a firearm, and took a person of interest matching the description of the suspect into custody
Police said there is no further threat to public safety at this time.
