Singer debuts bold new look that leaves fans gobsmacked as she channels Hollywood icon in 1930s pin-up style blonde wig and frilly crop top... but can you guess who it is?
A popular singer has stunned fans by debuting a bold pin-up inspired transformation, worlds away from her previous looks. After recently vowing to 'grow out of her comfort zone' in a candid series of posts, the reality star, 22, ditched her signature rainbows and rhinestones this week as she took inspiration from a Hollywood icon. She displayed her taut midriff in a lacey crop top with frilly sleeves and a pair of black and white gingham trousers, while sporting a 1930s style curly blonde wig. Leaning fully into the pin-up aesthetic, she completed the makeover with a classic bold red and heavily blushed cheeks. Sharing a slew of photos of sultry snaps lying on the carpet to display the look, the Celebrity Big Brother star revealed she was channelling acclaimed actress Bette Davis to promote her new song. While she also shared a snippet of the track, a cover of the Kim Carnes' 1981 hit Bette Davis Eyes, sending fans wild. But can you guess who it is? It's JoJo Siwa! The Dance Moms star became famous for her love of bright colours and sparkles, as well as her trademark big bows and high ponytails. But she ditched that aesthetic entirely this week, looking nothing short of sensational in the new blonde bombshell look on her Instagram. JoJo teased fans that she was set to release her version of Bette Davis Eyes on streaming, after changing the lyrics to make it an on-stage tribute to her boyfriend Chris Hughes. She first performed the song at a festival in May, and later admitted that Chris, who was watching in the audience, had no idea she changed the song's final line, from 'Better Davis' Eyes,' to 'Chris Hughes' Eyes,' until the moment she sang it on stage. Sharing a clip of her in the 1930s get-up singing the track in her famous raspy vocals, she asked her followers about whether she should release the cover on Spotify. She wrote: 'After performing this song live and then seeing the beautiful response to it, I decided to go record a studio vocal…. 'I'm undecided if I should release it on Spotify or not… Would you want me to?!!! If you would, I'm thinking maybe end of this week?' Chris was quick to throw his support behind his girlfriend, commenting on her Instagram post: 'Unreal.' And as well as calling for the song's release, JoJo's fans couldn't help but also praise her sophisticated new look. They said: 'The song, the look, everything perfection'; 'JOELLE!! I almost passed out from this... you are out of this world'. 'Oh my god, this is amazing... what a look... like Marilyn Monroe and Bette Davis all in one'; 'You sound amazing & also looking absolutely beautiful as always'. While Irish twins Jedward also flooded the comments with praise, writing: 'This sounds incredible' and 'Jojo Monroe'. It comes after JoJo recently reflected on the changes in her personal and professional life in a series of candid Instagram posts. The dancer previously said she's 'never been happier,' since she begun dating Chris , even secretly flying to the UK last month to surprise him after 10 days apart. And after offering insight into the recent changes in both her professional and personal life in a shoot with YOU Magazine, JoJo took to Instagram to reflect on 'the woman she's becoming.' The former child star admitted that while it is 'scary' to face the recent changes in her life, her shoot with the publication has helped her 'let go of control.' In a series of posts, she wrote: 'Stepping into something new… and a little scary. These photos are different. They're bold. They're grown. They're me. 'For the longest time, I lived inside a sparkly little bubble - and while I love her, it's time to find the woman I am becoming #JoJoSiwa #NewEra.' Following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, where she and Chris first met, JoJo has shared her time on the show has pushed her to make certain 'changes' in her life, after noticing things she should 'never have been OK with.' And she echoed this in her second post, writing: 'This shoot pushed me. Not just to pose differently, but to feel differently. To let go of control. ''To stop asking 'Is this what people expect from me?'' and start asking, ''Is this me?'' The answer is YES. So here's to discomfort - it is where the good stuff lives. #OutOfMyComfortZone #Fearless #AdultJoJo.' Offering a message to her fans, JoJo added: 'To anyone afraid to change… I get it. 'But we don't grow inside the lines. mess it up, try it anyway, and let the world see you ❤️ Here I am. Love her, fear her, or try to figure her out — this is me.' And as well as calling for the song's release, JoJo's fans couldn't help but also praise her sophisticated new look The dancer previously said she's 'never been happier,' since she begun dating Chris , even secretly flying to the UK last month to surprise him after 10 days apart Since confirming their relationship last month, things have been heating up between them, with JoJo sharing she's been embraced by her newfound British fanbase. She has also heavily hinted that there are plans for more shows in the UK later this year, after two performances in London back in May. In her interview with YOU, JoJo shared that she now identifies as queer, admitting she previously felt 'pressure' to call herself a lesbian. The star has sparked a social media frenzy since she confirmed she is dating Love Island star Chris, after they met on Celebrity Big Brother in April. She said: 'When I came out at 17, I said: 'I'm pansexual, because I don't care [about gender].' But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: 'I'm a lesbian.' And I think I did that because of pressure.' The Dance Moms alum has had several relationships with women since coming out in February 2021. 'In a weird way, I think [the pressure] came a little bit from inside the [LGBTQ] community at times. From people I know, from partners I've had,' she contended. 'You just get put in this world where you feel like, because you now have said, 'Oh, I'm a lesbian', you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.'
