Suzuki Drops on Report Rare Earths Curbs Hit Car Production
Suzuki Motor Corp. shares extended a slump after the automaker halted production of a popular car model, with local media reporting China's export restrictions on rare earths are behind the disruption. The automaker said it's stopped output of the Swift between May 26 and June 12 due a parts shortage. Some production will resume from June 13 with a full return to normal from June 16, it said.

Suzuki Motor halted Swift car production due to China's rare earth curb, Nikkei says
TOKYO, June 5 (Reuters) - Suzuki Motor (7269.T), opens new tab halted production of its Swift model cars in Japan since May 26 due to China's rare earth restrictions, the Nikkei reported on Thursday. The Japanese automaker had announced the planned production stoppage of the popular model through June 6 but had not given a reason. Suzuki spokesperson was not immediate available for a comment when contacted by Reuters.

Steelmaker Nucor said on Wednesday it had halted certain production at various locations after identifying a cyber security incident that involved unauthorized third-party access to certain information technology systems it used. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it is in the process of restarting the affected operations as it investigates the incident along with external cyber security experts.
