Calhanoglu Interview ‘Unexpected' By Inter Milan – But Appreciated for ‘Impeccable' Professionalism
A recent interview by Hakan Calhanoglu was 'unexpected' but also 'appreciated' by Inter Milan. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri appreciated the 'impeccable' professionalism and message discipline in the Turk's comments. Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is back at Inter Milan. The Turkish international returned to training this week, following what's been a long, heated summer. Transfer rumours linking Calhanoglu and Galatasaray have floated around for many weeks. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce also tried to bring the 31-year-old to Istanbul, according to some reports. But Calhanoglu will in fact be staying at Inter this summer. The player himself confirmed as much. Hakan Calhanoglu Comments 'Unexpected' But 'Appreciated' By Inter Milan MILAN, ITALY – MARCH 11: Hakan Calhanoglu of FC Internazionale celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and Feyenoord at Stadio San Siro on March 11, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) There are still some things to smooth over between Inter and Calhanoglu after how the summer has gone, however. Inter captain Lautaro Martinez had all but called out the Turkish international a few weeks ago. Speaking frankly after Inter's Club World Cup exit against Fluminense, the Argentine implored 'whoever wants to leave, leave.' Calhanoglu went some way towards addressing these underlying tensions yesterday. The former AC Milan midfielder gave a brief interview outside of Inter's training ground as he arrived for preseason. Calhanoglu brushed off the idea that he had ever pushed to leave. He also confidently predicted that he'll easily reconcile with Martinez and the rest of his teammates. According to Tuttosport, Inter did not expect Calhanoglu to give any interview. After all, it is rare that players will make comments to reporters outside of the club's training ground like that. At least outside of a couple words. Therefore, there would have been a risk of Inter feeling that Calhanoglu's comments were out of line in the circumstances. But on the contrary, Tuttosport report, the Nerazzurri were happy with what they heard. The club feel that, irrespective of the circumstances of the interview, it was a positive step to reassuring the fans after all the drama of the last few weeks.

Nationality of next Singapore football head coach should not matter, says departing Ogura
Looking back on his time as head coach, Ogura said that there have been improvements in the mindset of his players and staff. "Most important is that the players be professional (in their) mentality and attitude. And not only the players, that the whole environment - our coaching staff, our backroom staff - be professional, be one team and be positive," he said. "If there's something that has changed in the past 18 months, I think this is the part ... But we need more." FORGING THE SINGAPORE WAY Ogura said that he was positive in his outlook for Singapore football, but stressed that the country must not follow the approach taken by other nations. This is something he has tried to implement on the pitch from day one, constantly emphasising that the Lions need to play their own brand of football. "Singapore has Singapore's specific culture, specific situation, specific environment. This (can not be) compared with other Southeast Asian countries," Ogura said. Ogura added that what is key for the future of Singapore's future is improving coach education, as well as youth development. Should these two aspects of a "triangle" improve, Singapore football can move forward, he said. "Singapore must look for (its) own way, not chasing another country, or chasing another (way of) how to do (things). In Japan, we were chasing Germany, chasing Spain, chasing other countries (ways of doing things)," said Ogura. "But chasing always means you're behind and not going (in front)." Ultimately, Ogura leaves with a positivity about the future of Singapore football. He recalled how the team held firm in their last game, a tricky away tie to Bangladesh and did not capitulate as they might have in the past. "I was very proud of our players. Our players had their own identity and kept the confidence," he said. After rewatching the match, Ogura recalled how the players were constantly communicating with one another, all the way to the final whistle.

Cuepacs warns civil servants to stay neutral, stay out of anti-Anwar rally this Saturday
KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Civil servants must remain neutral and not be involved in any actions that could affect the image and trust of the people in the public service, said the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS). Its president, Datuk Dr Adnan Mat, said civil servants must remain focused on their primary responsibility, which is to deliver the best services to the people without being influenced by any agenda that could affect the integrity and professionalism of the public service. 'Civil servants are the backbone of the stability of the country's administration and must always demonstrate professionalism, integrity and maintain ethics in delivering services to the community,' he said in a statement today. He said as the government's policy implementation machinery, civil servants must fully support the principles of the Rukun Negara, especially Loyalty to the King and Country and the Supremacy of the Constitution, which are the basis for national harmony and unity. He said that any action that deviates from these principles not only tarnishes the good name of the public service but can also disrupt the continuity of the country's administrative system. 'CUEPACS calls on all civil servants to remain focused on the trust they have been given and not be influenced by any form of provocation or activity that could affect the image of the public service in the eyes of the people,' he said. Yesterday, the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN), Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, reminded civil servants not to participate in the rally scheduled to be held in the capital this Saturday. He said it was inappropriate for civil servants to participate in the rally because the action was not in accordance with the principle of Loyalty to the King and Country contained in the Rukun Negara. — Bernama

‘He told me his wife is a relative': Woman says her 60 y/o coworker overshares and makes work awkward
SINGAPORE: One woman says her 60-year-old coworker has been turning the office into a very uncomfortable place, thanks to his complete lack of boundaries and oversharing habits. Sharing her experience on Reddit's 'AskSingapore' forum on Thursday (July 17), she said the man is far too enthusiastic for her liking and seems oblivious to what's appropriate in a professional setting. He has repeatedly asked her out for coffee during office hours, even though she has turned him down every single time. He also won't stop rambling about his personal life, including the rather unsettling detail that 'his wife is actually a relative.' 'Like why would I need to know that??' she said. To make things worse, he once asked her to drive him to Johor Bahru (JB) and regularly sends her meme stickers that have nothing to do with work. He has also asked personal questions like 'whether she has a boyfriend or how much she weighs.' At one point, he even mocked her for 'supposedly never having been kissed or hugged.' See also Ivy League dreams: A path to prestige and prosperity 'I never actually answered his invasive questions, and he just jumped to his own conclusions. All this happens when it's just the two of us in the office,' she wrote. 'Most of the time, I just listen and react politely, and now I'm questioning if my reactions gave him the impression that I enjoy these conversations. This does not feel normal or appropriate to me. I don't think our relationship needs to go beyond professional boundaries,' she added. To distance herself, she said she started acting colder toward him in hopes that he would get the hint. However, her coworker ended up confronting her and claimed that 'she was angry at him for no reason.' 'This is awkward and exhausting because the office is usually just the two of us while the others are out,' she said. She added that she has always tried to carry herself with decency. Even though she is still relatively new to the workforce, she believed that staying kind and keeping clear boundaries would be enough to stay out of trouble, but she did not expect that some people could be so 'shameless in ways that aren't always obvious.' 'I've been trying to find excuses to leave the office whenever I can. Luckily, I'll only be here for less than a month more,' she wrote. 'What he's doing is already considered inappropriate.' Under her post, one commenter said, 'Actually, I think this constitutes as harassment already…' Another commented, 'Why he wants you to bring him to JB??? Something is sus about this already… I think just say you have a bf even if you don't.. If he still doesn't stop talking like that, collect evidence and report to HR.' A third suggested, 'If he asks too personal questions, you can just say 'sorry I'm not comfortable answering that' and say you need to finish up some work or something. What he's doing is already considered inappropriate, but I guess it's a small company and there isn't any HR.' Dealing with workplace harassment According to the Ministry of Manpower, victims of workplace harassment are advised to maintain a safe distance from individuals exhibiting inappropriate behaviour and, where possible, adopt a buddy system for safety. If the victim is often alone with the harasser, they should report the matter to a supervisor, manager, human resources, or a designated neutral party within the organisation so that appropriate action can be taken. Victims may also contact the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) for guidance or lodge a police report if necessary. Dawn Yeoh reveals her grandmother died while actress was attending this year's Star Awards
There are stars who are so professional, they don't let their personal lives get in the way of their work. When met Dawn Yeoh at the recent Star Awards, the 39-year-old was as bubbly as usual and even gamely filmed a TikTok for us. So imagine our surprise when we found out how troubled she was actually feeling that night. Yeoh recently revealed on Instagram that her grandmother had died that day. She told Chinese media 8world that she was informed about her grandmother's condition while she was at the awards show. Yeoh said she contemplated leaving the ceremony to see her Ah Ma for the last time. "In the end I decided to stay. I was hoping to bring a Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste award to the hospital for my grandma," she said. Dawn has been in the running for the award many times over her two decade-long career. This year, she was hoping her new-found popularity from playing Kang Si Li in Emerald Hill would bring her luck, but sadly, she still went home empty-handed. She also didn't get to say her final goodbye to her grandma. Yeoh said she was busy settling funeral matters but had already returned to work the past two days. She also wished to convey a message to her late grandma. "I won't get beaten down. Instead, I will get stronger with every defeat. I will keep working hard, and I hope I can 'visit' you with an award next year. Please rest well in heaven and continue to watch all my dramas. Thank you for all the love you've given me, we'll definitely meet again, Ah Ma," said the actress.
