Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo are producing for Outlier Society alongside Charles Roven at Atlas Entertainment. Drew Pearce wrote the script, with previous drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson. Patrick McCormick and Toberoff Productions' Marc Toberoff are also producing and Alan Trustman, who wrote the McQueen original, is an executive producer. The film is set to release in theaters on March 5, 2027. via: Deadline

Were 'Shakespearean' Benedict and 'no faffing' Olivia thorns in each other's side in a REAL War of the Roses?

It was one of the most successful movies of the Eighties, a dark comedy that tells the story of a bitter divorce with neither party giving an inch. But in the much anticipated remake of The War Of The Roses, the real battle appears to have been behind the scenes between Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman. In The Roses, they take on the lead roles, played first time round by Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. Sources say that despite the actors being 'very keen' to work together, all was not well during filming, with Cumberbatch's serious 'method' acting at odds with Ms Colman's 'no-nonsense, let's get on with it' attitude. One insider told The Mail on Sunday: 'The Roses was supposed to be a fairly easy and straightforward one to film - about a husband and a wife who don't like one another. 'But at times Benedict was treating it like it was some kind of Shakespearean play, wanting to seriously connect with his part, which is totally fair enough. 'Olivia is very much the type to just get on with it, no faffing. It's a comedy - it's like there was a lot of overthinking going on. 'It led to the chemistry between them not exactly being the best. It was a comedy, like a romcom, not the airy fairy-type stuff Benedict has done before.' A spokesman for Cumberbatch attempted to play down the issues between the pair. She said they were both keen to take part in The Roses, which will be out in cinemas next month, because they were friends who had never worked together before. Following filming, which took place in both Salcombe, south Devon and Los Angeles, it is not known if they are still as close. Oscar-winner Ms Colman, 51, is one of Britain's most decorated actresses and has appeared in a wide range of productions from ITV drama Broadchurch to Netflix series The Crown, where she played the late Queen. She won a best actress Oscar in 2019 for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite. Harrow-educated Cumberbatch, 49, who has been nominated for an Oscar twice, began his acting career with the New Shakespeare Company before going on to star in the West End and big-budget Hollywood films. One industry source said: 'You only have to spend a small amount of time in Olivia and Benedict's company to realise that they are very different types of people.' Ms Colman's agent didn't respond when asked if she wished to comment.

Beloved Horror Movie Getting A Remake Almost 50 Years Later

The horror genre contains numerous classics that have terrified audiences for generations. Naturally, many of these classics are revisited for newer viewers, and that happens to be the case with one beloved horror movie. This particular horror movie is receiving a remake of sorts from a pair of popular filmmakers. The two filmmakers, Joseph and Vanessa Winter, are a married couple that previously crafted the found footage horror movie Deadstream . However, following the success of that particular endeavor, they're now headed in a very different direction for their next horror entry. This movie isn't exactly a traditional remake, and it seems to exist outside of the rights for the original horror film franchise. The new film will actually be an original tale inspired by the supernatural allegations surrounding the house, and neither the DeFeo murders nor the Lutz family will factor into the plot. As shared via Deadline: 'The genre maestros at BoulderLight Pictures ( Barbarian ) and Divide/Conquer ( Heart Eyes ) are teaming on Amityville , a radical new spin on the famed haunted house story for a new generation.' The two studios behind this project have a history of successes within the horror genre, and as such, they're teaming up with the writer and director team of Joseph and Vanessa Winter to unofficially remake The Amityville Horror – now simply-titled Amityville . Additionally, it's been shared that Raphael Margules & J.D. Lifshitz will produce for BoulderLight, alongside Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath for Divide/Conquer. Other details regarding the project have yet to be revealed, and the project has yet to hit any studios but they want to have production ready by the fourth quarter of this year. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Amityville as we have them. With so many Amityville films having been released over the years, it'll be nice if this new interpretation can strike a chord with longtime fans of the property in addition to new viewers.

Thomas Crown Affair Remake Cast Adds Lily Gladstone, Oscar Winner, & More

The cast of the upcoming remake is growing, with THR reporting Lily Gladstone and an Oscar-winning actor have joined onto the cast. Who is joining The Thomas Crown Affair remake cast? Alongside Gladstone, Oscar-winning actor Kenneth Branagh and Danai Gurira have joined the cast of the remake. It's unclear exactly who both actors will play, but they'll join the previously announced Michael B. Jordan and Taylor Russell in the film. Jordan is also directing the project. Jordan's version of The Thomas Crown Affair is slated to arrive in theaters on March 5, 2027, pitting it against no direct competition at the box office. However, it is still expected to debut in the same month as other high-profile films including Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and the untitled Godzilla x Kong sequel. The upcoming heist movie is written by Drew Pearce and Wes Tooke, based on a story by the original movie's writer Alan Trustman. It is produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society, along with Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff. Trustman has also signed on as an executive producer. Charles Roven has also joined the project as a producer. The original film came out in 1968, and starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in the leading roles. A 1999 remake of the movie was also released, starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
