Mabel marries fiancé Preye Crooks after splashing out on an incredible London venue with 150 guests including celebrity attendees
Mabel has married her fiancé Preye Crooks in a London ceremony over the weekend. The singer, 29, tied the knot with the music executive after spending five figures on hiring the ictoria and Albert Museum in Chelsea to host 150 guests. According to the Sun, guests including Miquita Oliver and her mother Andi partied the night away drinking drinking champagne and margaritas. An insider told the publication: 'It was quite an intimate affair initially — they had a nice dinner with their closest friends and family to kick things off. 'Then more of their loved ones turned up to celebrate with them in style later in the evening. They all had a brilliant time and Mabel and Preye looked so in love.' The venue typically costs around £10,000 to hire for wedding parties. The couple got engaged in November last year. Preye is the son of former Spurs footballer Garth Crooks. After Preye popped the question, she proudly showed off her sparkling diamond ring in a video online. They celebrated with a huge party as the couple were joined by family and friends, with one pal sharing a glimpse of the bash to TikTok. Mabel, who's full name is Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, looked sensational in a pink silk gown and couldn't wipe the smile off her face as she showed off her huge diamond ring which was custom-designed at Jewelry Palace - a family owned company in Los Angeles. Meanwhile Preye, who has been dating the singer since 2021, cut a dapper figure as he made a speech to mark the occasion. The couple looked happier than ever as they slow danced surrounded by rose petals and candles while their guests cheered. @feybakare1 Whenever you spoke about her, I knew you really loved her. It was very clear from the start, just how deeply you felt for her. With any and everything you did, you put her first and I learnt a lot from you in that sense and I'm blessed to have seen your relationship blossom and fluorish 😁 To happily ever after for you both 😁💍🖤🤞🏾 ♬ Swimming - Flawed Mangoes In the gushing post their friend Fet Bakare wrote: 'Whenever you spoke about her, I knew you really loved her. Sony music A&R Preye also runs the Strawberries & Creem Festival and is the son of former BBC sports pundit Garth Crooks, 66. Meanwhile Mabel is the daughter of Swedish singer Neneh Cherry, who has released six studio albums; the first of which, Raw Like Sushi, reached number three in the UK Albums chart. She has been nominated for a Grammy Award and has two Brit Awards under her belt - and while her daughter Mabel is certainly catching up to her mother, the young singer hasn't quite reached Neneh's heights yet. Her debut single Finders Keepers, released in 2017, reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed up two years later with the release of her album High Expectations at number three in the Albums Chart - which later went platinum. In 2020, just three years after bursting onto the scene, she won a Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist. In 2018, her musician mother Neneh spoke about nurturing her daughter Mabel in the music industry, revealing she is in awe of her. The songstress spoke of the then 21-year-old's success and reflected on motherhood, in an interview with the Evening Standard Magazine admitting she wasn't always 'emotionally accessible'. She said: 'Mabel is unbelievable and so focused and it's hard out there. 'She gets up sometimes and she's doing two or three sessions a day. I'm in awe of her and so I try to support her with basic mum things, like making her a take-out lunch.' Mabel previously insisted she doesn't want her parents' help when it comes to her own music career. 'When I was in my teens, and was like, 'I really want to do music',' she told the publication. I felt quite embarrassed by being my mum and dad's daughter. I thought, 'People will never take me seriously'.'

Mariah Carey, 56, reveals she 'doesn't allow herself to age' or even 'acknowledge time' as she poses for flawless Harper's Bazaar cover
Mariah Carey has revealed that she 'doesn't allow herself to age' or even 'acknowledge time' as she posed for a flawless Harper's Bazaar UK cover on Tuesday. The iconic singer, 56, who has always expressed her playful attitude toward getting older, explaining in a new interview that one of her new songs is actually about ageing. She told the publication of getting older: 'I don't allow it – it just doesn't happen. I don't know time. 'I don't know numbers. I do not acknowledge time – I have a new song that starts with that line…' The star - who looked incredible in the images accompanying the interview - has barely aged a day since becoming a hit in the 90s. Mariah - who was already working in the industry when she was in high school - has spoken in past about her unusual approach to getting older. The singer, 56, who has always expressed her playful attitude toward getting older, explaining in a new interview that one of her new songs is actually about ageing (seen right in 1995) In an interview with the Observer, via Attitude Magazine, she joked when questioned about her first US Number One single, Vision of Love, being 'nearly 25 years old' in 2017. 'First of all, don't round up. If you're going to round, round down!' the hitmaker said. 'I don't count years, but I definitely rebuke them – I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling.' Speaking to Harper's Bazaar she also opened up about embracing her diva persona and reputation. She said: 'It's part of my job. What's the point of a disguise? Just get up, get dressed, go out. If I don't want to be seen, I'll stay home.' For the magazine shoot she looked gorgeous in a leggy black dress before changing into a suit and white shirt for the cover shot. Mariah has over the years also opened up about various beauty tips so she stays looking young - which range from never smoking cigarettes to only being photographed from her 'good side'. The singer has often highlighted the importance of external factors, like angles and positioning. She has on several occasions admitted to feeling 'tortured' by 'hideous' overhead lighting. Speaking last year on the Las Culturistas podcast with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, she voiced her grievances. 'I can't with the overhead lighting. Why do they do it to us? I shouldn't say us, it's not us. It's me,' Mariah remarked. 'I'm the one who's the most tortured by the hideous lighting in every elevator, doorways, gyms - not that I go to the gym. But I'm just saying, it's hideous lighting.' She added that 'the sun is OK if it's sunset', but is 'careful' to the UV ray exposure. 'But overheard lighting, I don't think so, honey,' the singer expressed. 'Everywhere I go, shut the lights. Turn them out. I don't want to see them no more.' And last year Mariah took to Instagram to show what she deemed the 'bad side' of her face. 'New year, new beginnings... taking a picture from my 'bad side'!' the caption read. Mariah smiled softly with the camera facing the left side of her face, where she has a signature mole between her lips and jawline. The star has frequently joked about her 'bad side' with fans, after in 2016 revealing that she was told to favour one side of her visage when she was only 19. Recounting the tale on her docuseries Mariah's World, she said it was her first ever shoot, and a photographer said her right side was her 'good side'. 'This is your good side,' they allegedly said. 'Only let people photograph you from your good side. Ever.' For years after, Mariah reportedly wouldn't allow photographs of her 'bad side' - but eventually leaned into it. The pop sensation has also been rumoured to be a fan of unusual beauty treatments - including milk baths. Speaking to the Guardian in 2018, Mariah clarified an interviewer's question about whether it was really true that she only bathed in French mineral water? 'No, I bathe in milk,' she replied. 'Yes, sometimes I use milk as a beauty treatment. I don't want to give away all my secrets... Cold milk.' Elsewhere a US Weekly report once claimed that the artist paid a masseuse $1,500 to massage her for eight hours, while she slept. Speaking to FEMAIL, Dr Akis Ntonos, founder of Aion Aesthetics and partner of Certainly Health also suggested it's possible Mariah may have gotten 'tweakments' over the years to maintain her youthful appearance. The doctor shared that it is likely that Botox has been used in various areas of her face. The injections appear to have been administered masterfully, knocking years off her appearance while still keeping her looking like herself. 'Mariah has a very defined facial structure, so Botox would be used to fill out her lines without losing that striking definition,' he explained. 'It's been strategically injected in a way that lifts her eyes rather than making them droop. Her practitioner has done an excellent job. 'Good Botox is all about enhancing what's already there, not completely overhauling your natural beauty.' Dr Ntonos believes that part of the reason Mariah Carey's Botox is so impressive is that it is most likely been used preventatively. He added: 'Botox is a widely used treatment to diminish signs of ageing, such as wrinkles and fine lines. 'Most people get Botox once these signs have already appeared; however, preventive Botox aims to beat the formation of wrinkles. 'By relaxing or weakening the facial muscles that cause wrinkles, preventive Botox can help to slow down the development of these lines.' The September issue of Harper's Bazaar UK is on sale from 31 July.

Whatever, Noel! Nukannguaq Zeeb is Greenland's football Rock 'n' Roll Star
Noel Gallagher, Ed Sheeran, Elton John and Snoop Dogg - they all talk a great game of football, but can they really kick it?Are they scoring winning penalties to win a national championship? Of course not, only in their dreams and aside rock gods... and meet Nukannguaq 43-year old singer-songwriter leads one of Greenland's most popular bands, Tulleriit, where he blends lyrics of peace and positivity with luxurious soundscapes cultivated from the unique environment he grew up in.'Sumiuuguit apeqqutaanngilaq assigiippugummi qungujukkuit'.'It doesn't matter where you are from, we all smile in the same language'.And yes, Zeeb did score the final, crucial spot-kick for his team G-44 to win the Greenlandic Football Championship in 2011. And he's still playing in the tournament in the eve of the championship, which dates back to 1954, Zeeb tells me how tough it can be to become title winners on the largest island on earth, with terrain hardly suited to the beautiful game."This year I am the player-coach for G-44. We are based in Qeqertarsuaq (575 miles north of the capital, Nuuk) and we have a 'new' team, full of young players, including my 16-year-old son. I'm satisfied with our level, I think you will see us progress to the semi-finals and then we'll see how it goes."We are from a small town, around 850 people, so it's not always easy to build a good team. In the championship you may need up to 20 players in a squad, as we have matches almost every day for a week. We need really good substitutes if we have injuries or our starting players are tired." 'We are on the right path, despite the set-backs' The Greenlandic Football Championship is a unique tournament. This year 10 teams will gather in Nuuk, to first play a group stage, then knockouts. It can only be held in a week-long window in high summer, because of the island's difficult weather conditions and arduous travel Nuuk Stadium will host 20 games over a six-day period, with just one rest day, as long standing rivalries are renewed. Kissaviarsuk-33, duly named after being formed in 1933, are Greenland's oldest active club. They last won the national title in football in Greenland takes place indoors, as futsal, and the national futsal side have a growing global reputation, travelling to Brazil earlier this year for a mini-tournament. The women's futsal team were in Poland for a similar adventure last picture for the 11-a-side game is more challenging. Last month Greenland were rejected for membership of Concacaf, which could have allowed them to enter Fifa World Cup qualifying. The fight for recognition goes Kleist, president of the Greenlandic Football Association (KAK) feels they are on the right path, despite the recent set-back."We are working on a few options, and we hope there will be news concerning that development in the autumn. In October, we will go to Vienna, and play the national amateur teams from Austria and Slovenia," he said."We will play international matches in the Fifa windows, so it's looking promising for our A team and youth level teams in the year ahead. In June 2026 we are planning to host the first official match in the Arctic region.""It's so bad we are being rejected," says Zeeb. "I am also an assistant coach for the national team, and we hope so much for other options to play in World Cup qualifying. As soon as possible."For now, he'll concentrate on the domestic scene, and earning G-44 a first title since he was that penalty hero 14 years ago. Since then, Nuuk powerhouses B-67 have won eight of the 11 championships, with Nagdlunguaq-48 (twice) and Inuit Timersoqatigiiffiat-79 taking the other crowns."Growing up, I played football with my brothers almost every day," Zeeb says. "I first played in the national championship in 1999, as a teenager. My father was the coach."The standards in Greenlandic football really changed when we got artificial pitches to play on, rather than gravel. The level of skill and tactics just get better and better." 'Be careful with life, and be grateful' Kleist, when asked for his favourite memory of the championship, has no hesitation in picking out events from 2022."The two biggest teams in Greenlandic club football historically, N-48 from Ilulissat and B-67 met in the final."B-67 was leading 1-0 until stoppage time, then N-48 levelled in the final minute."In extra time B-67 took the lead again, but N-48 scored in the 122nd minute - and the match went to penalties."The dramatic shoot-out in front of a record crowd in Ilulissat ended 6-5 to N-48, and the home team's fans invaded the pitch."Aqi Ludvigsen, KAK General Secretary, when asked what makes the championship in Greenland so special, reveals an answer that could make the basis for a Tulleriit song."Our football pride refers to the feeling of love, loyalty, and respect that our nation have toward to our sport," he tells me."It's often associated with a sense of belonging, identity, and shared history or culture. People may express national pride through symbols like flags, anthems, national holidays or unity like coming together during moments of triumph or failure."Much like Oasis, Tulleriit is a family affair, with the three Zeeb brothers having released three albums, and playing live shows."The message in my songs is about never giving up, being careful with life, and being grateful," Zeeb says. "To be positive even when some days are not easy.""When I was younger I listened to Oasis, now I like many of Ed Sheeran's songs, plus Coldplay and Pink."Sheeran may have recently played out a sold-out show at Portman Road, home of his beloved Ipswich Town, and he may have a squad number, but when it comes to actually putting the ball in the net for real, under pressure, Greenland's music maestro is the one with ice in his Sport will be in Nuuk covering the Greenlandic Football Championship for the first time. A documentary following events will be released later in the year.

How the Birkin bag started out as a scribble on a sick bag and became a must-have luxury item
British actress and singer Jane Birkin kept her original Birkin bag for years until she donated it to charity in 1994. The bag recently sparked an intense bidding war.
