Bernedoodle Gets New Sprinkler and Immediately Says 'Nope'

Bernedoodle Gets New Sprinkler and Immediately Says 'Nope' originally appeared on PawNation. With summer temps getting the stuffy kind of uncomfortable, pups without pools or beach access need alternative ways to beat the heat. If you're lucky enough to have a splash pad or dog park with a cool fountain nearby, congrats—you're one of God's favorites. For everyone else, it comes down to the simpler options, like a sprinkler. Props to this childhood throwback for bringing up cringey memories playing in one of those! Bernedoodle, Lily, is in the same boat. Credit to Mom for trying, but this girl doesn't want any part of whatever that thing is! Keep in mind, Lily is a Texas babe, so being outside feels like actually touching the sun. Even though this strange device could bring relief, even though it might be fun, and even though it's not as scary as it looks, she still said "deuces" and skedaddled! Fair enough, but for a Bernedoodle outside in 100-degree weather, maybe she should give it another chance. This is the equivalent of buying your human kids that plastic pool, and spending your Saturday off filling and cleaning it for them to say, "Thanks, we hate it." Kids, both human and fur, have the special gift of trashing the good ideas we thought we had! Oh, well. There's always next summer (when she'll do the exact same thing)! 🐶🐾🐾 This story was originally reported by PawNation on Aug 16, 2025, where it first appeared. Solve the daily Crossword

Irrigreen Announces 3rd-Generation Sprinkler, U.S.-Based Manufacturing

To complement last year's launch of its third-gen controller, Irrigreen has announced the Sprinkler 3, a major evolution for the company that brings with it a host of improvements brought about by customer feedback on their second-gen sprinklers. How Is Irrigreen Different From Other Sprinklers? But first, a little bit of background (don't worry, this won't take long). Irrigreen does away with the "watering theater" that you usually associate with sprinkler systems. The giant cloud of water vapor you see when driving by sprinklers going at full blast are mostly just wasting water. About 50% of that vapor in the air is drifting away and not ending up on the lawn at all. Irrigreen changes all that by borrowing technology from ink jet printers. Each Irrigreen sprinkler uses a multi-faceted head to "print" an area of your lawn with water. Using the app, you define the edges of a zone and the sprinkler head adjusts the pressure to precisely cover just that area. It's slower than your typical sprinkler but it's markedly more efficient. In addition to using less water to irrigate the same amount of lawn, Irrigreen's smart controller uses weather forecasts and AI algorithms, paired with information on each area of your lawn, to determine just how much water is actually needed. And it's a simple thing to adjust things as we head out of summer into a least active time for your lawn so that you're not drowning grass that doesn't need watering. What's Different About the Sprinkler 3? Irrigreen's latest sprinkler pairs with the new controller to create a full Gen 3 system. And the sprinkler itself has a host of improvements to ensure that it works in every environment, especially sandy soil. I asked Ted Hoffman, Principal Mechanical Engineer at Irrigreen, just what exactly had changed. "A common failure in conventional sprinklers is a riser that gets stuck in the "up' position — something that can lead to broken heads from lawn mowers or become a trip hazard. This typically happens when sand or fine debris makes its way between the moving riser and the stationary body — and while that may sound simple, it's an incredibly difficult problem to engineer around. Sand isn't uniform — it comes in an infinite variety of shapes and sizes, and it has sharp, abrasive edges that always seem to find a way in. With Sprinkler 3, we took that challenge head-on and built in layers of redundancy to protect against it. The new, patent-pending Auto-Clean system redirects water during startup and shutdown to flush over the outside of the riser, actively sweeping away debris. The sprinkler's external geometry works in tandem to keep particles away from the riser-base junction and seals off entry points when the system is idle. What happens when debris does make it inside? This is what truly sets our design apart. We engineered the internal geometry so that any sand is gathered and jetted back out using internal water flow. This multiple-line-of-defense approach — working both inside and out — is what makes Sprinkler 3 uniquely robust and reliable in real-world conditions. It's a system built not just to work, but to keep working through seasons of exposure to sand, grit, and unpredictable terrain." As someone who's had multiple sprinkler heads fouled by Florida's sandy soil, I can confirm that it's a nigh-near impossible issue to solve for irrigation equipment. Irrigreen's approach is comprehensive and multi-stepped, however, which makes me hopeful they'll finally have the solution that's eluded sprinkler manufacturers (themselves included). In addition to the debris-flushing, self-cleaning heads, the Sprinkler 3 senses pressure to ensure that the flow stays consistent to its 16 streams of water (one more than the current sprinkler). Irrigreen has also redesigned the body to have fewer components so that it's easier to repair, with a more compact body, and updated riser mechanics. Now Made in the U.S. Given the state of, well, everything made outside of the U.S., it's no surprise that Irrigreen is investing in domestic manufacturing for their latest hardware. The company has built a new manufacturing hub in Wisconsin where domestic tooling, simplified assembly, and consolidated, modular parts lets Irrigreen avoid tariffs without raising consumer prices. Irrigreen sprinkler heads are considerably more expensive than the ones you'll find at your big box home improvement store but their advanced features make a marked difference when it comes to saving water and efficiently irrigating your lawn. The Sprinkler 3 self-cleaning features should improve the durability as well. The Sprinkler 3 and Controller 3 are both on sale now. You can get DIY and professional installation quotes by designing a system on their website. The company has recently updated their design tool to intelligently determine just how many sprinkler heads you need (though you can still manually edit the design before locking it in).

Shock as lavish wedding venue goes up in flames while blissfully unaware newlyweds enjoy their first dance

A dream wedding in Sydney took a dramatic turn after indoor fireworks ignited a fire, triggering the sprinkler system and drenching the well-groomed guests. The incident unfolded at Renaissance Weddings and Events in Lidcombe on Sunday, where newlyweds Matthew and Teresa were celebrating their special day. In a video shared to social media, the couple was seen making a joyful entrance to their wedding reception, greeted by cheering loved ones as a live band played. But the fun quickly descended into chaos, as indoor fireworks and pyrotechnics erupted near a floral archway and lit the pricey blooms on fire. Blissfully unaware of the growing flames behind them, the couple and guests continued celebrating with the fire burning in the background. In a video capturing the aftermath of the blaze, large puddles could be seen on the dancefloor after water rained down from an overhead sprinkler system. The bride, still clutching her bouquet, could be seen taking in the chaos surrounding her as the camera panned to soaked tables, chairs and well-groomed guests. The footage drew a mixed reaction on social media, with some questioning the safety of indoor fireworks, while others were more sympathetic. 'Why do people insist on indoor fireworks at weddings?' one wrote. One attendee praised the quick-thinking staff who soaked up all the puddles. 'The manager did the best job anyone can ever imagine. He handled everything in a professional and good way to make the event continue,' they said. 'The event ended up turning awesome the venue got cleaned up quickly and the party continued. They ate and danced all night.' Others applauded the dedication of the musicians who continued to perform unfazed while the blaze was growing. 'Love how the drummers played like when the Titanic was sinking and the violinists still played,' one person wrote. In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, Fire Rescue NSW confirmed they attended the site, but reset the fire alarm and no further action was taken. In 2013, Renaissance Weddings and Events was accused by its local council of flouting fire safety regulations by using indoor fireworks. The Lidcombe venue was noted to have flouted fire regulations by a local council in 2013 A council report included warnings from police that live fireworks were being used inside the venue, which were not part of previous interim occupation certification. 'The potential risk to council in the event of a serious incident occurring at the subject premises is significant,' the report stated. Two years later, a wild brawl outside the wedding venue led to the arrests of four people after tensions between two groups erupted into violence. A 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were arrested and charged with affray and resisting arrest. A 20-year-old woman was fined for offensive language after allegedly abusing police, while a 24-year-old man was arrested for ignoring move-on orders.

Sky Sports reporter soaked on live TV by sprinkler ahead of pre-season friendly

SKY SPORTS reporter Alan Irwin found himself drenched after being blasted by sprinklers ahead of a Nottingham Forest friendly. The reporter was preparing to go live at Chesterfield's SMH Group Stadium when he was caught out by a sprinkler at his feet. 5 5 5 The broadcaster was on camera in the corner of the pitch ready to go live with his pre-match coverage. Suddenly, a jet of water caught him square in the chest, sending him fleeing off screen. Even the camera person was caught off guard, with the frame briefly showing the gushing sprinkler before shakily panning to focus on a soaking wet Irwin. Luckily, he saw the funny side of the situation. He said afterwards: "The life of a Sky Sports News reporter is not always as simplistic as it seems. "Do NOT stand on top of a sprinkler because this can be the result - an absolute drenched Alan Irwin." Irwin was able to take the accident in good spirits, not least because it provided a reprieve for the 26C weather. 5 5 Alan was preparing to cover a pre-season friendly between League Two side Chesterfield and Nottingham Forest. Crystal Palace RELEGATED from Europa League with Nottingham Forest set to be promoted amid multi-club ownership row Forest are kicking off their pre-season friendlies amid confusion and controversy on multiple fronts ahead of next campaign. Morgan Gibbs-White's transfer to Spurs is on hold as the club consider legal action related to accusations of an "illegal approach" to the player. And the attacking star was left out of the squad for the clash today. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace's ejection from the Europa League has raised questions as to whether Forest will now be promoted to the competition. Forest had initially qualified for the Conference League via a seventh place league finish, but are hoping to capitalise on the Eagles' removal to jump up a level.

Video: Golden Retriever Doesn't Know How to React Every Time a Sprinkler Pops Up

Dogs have an appetite for discovery that the world can't keep up with. Our furbabies stumble upon little wonders all day long, which instantly fill them with joy. All it takes is a walk around the neighborhood to find a new friend or plaything, because life is a never-ending adventure when you love to sniff around. In one such Instagram video, a Golden Retriever learns about a sprinkler. However, she doesn't know how to react every time one pops up. Your dog might have the most quirky reaction to something completely ordinary to you, and that's okay and nothing to worry about. For instance, this Golden Retriever was totally clueless after seeing the sprinkler pop up from the ground and even tried to interact with the same in a hilarious video. The Instagram Reel featured the furbaby named Gamja making unusual discoveries while on her daily walks around the neighborhood. Since canines are naturally curious beings, she gives in to her urge to explore. The compilation video showed the Golden Retriever getting bamboozled seeing the sprinkler pop up from the ground. In the first throwback clip, Gamja was only a little puppy when she came across the device during one of her morning adventures. She looked cautious, but that would change as she grew up. The post then showed her trying to sniff it before heckling the sprinkler with her paws and even barking at it to intimidate the inanimate object. In some snippets, it almost seemed like she was trying to interact with the water-spraying gadget. Finally comfortable around the sprinkler, the Golden Retriever was completely baffled when it went back in at the end of the video. The caption captured Gamja's reaction, 'so many Wows,' revealing that sprinklers have never failed to amuse her. In an additional comment, the dog owner explained that she used to be 'cautious about it when she was a puppy,' but has become 'more curious' now. Fellow Golden Retriever account, @daisythegoldiee, further shared their joy on how easy it is to amuse pups.
