Cyclist (60s) killed in collision with van in Co Cork
A man in his 60s has died following a collision in Co Cork on Wednesday. The collision, which involved a van and a cyclist, occurred on the N25 at Carrigtwohill at about 5pm. Emergency services attended the incident but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary at University Cork Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The male driver of the van, who is aged in his 60s, received treatment at the scene. READ MORE Gardaí are investigating the incident. The road will remain closed overnight for a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators on Thursday morning. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward. Any road users who may have camera or dash cam footage and were travelling in the area between 4.30pm and 5pm on Wednesday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Pedestrian killed after being hit by van in Kane County, deputies say
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a van early Monday morning in Kane County. The sheriff's office said just before 4:30 a.m., deputies responded to a car versus pedestrian crash near the intersection of Farnsworth Avenue and Summit Avenue in Aurora Township. Initial reports indicated that a white 2017 GMC work van was heading southbound on Farnsworth Avenue when it hit a pedestrian who was also walking southbound in the roadway along the fog line. The pedestrian, identified by the sheriff's office as Samson Isom, 42, of Aurora, was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later died. The driver of the van, a 36-year-old man also of Aurora, was taken to Ascension Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No citations were issued. Deputies said it is not clear if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing by the Kane County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Kane County Investigations Division at 630-444-1103.

Man in his 20s dies in crash with HGV near Ellington
A man has died in a crash between a HGV and a crash took place on the A1068 near Ellington, in Northumberland, at about 10:15 BST on services said the driver of the white Peugeot Partner van, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the Police has asked anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: "We'd like to express our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the man who tragically passed away in this incident."The HGV driver remained at the scene to help officers with their inquiries, police said. Dangerous driving arrest after van crashes into Radcliffe pub sign
A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a van crashed into a car and flipped over into a pub sign. Nottinghamshire Police said a 22-year-old man was arrested following the collision near the Radcliffe pub in Shelford Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, at 13:20 BST on was also arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and failing to stop following a road accident after being treated in hospital for minor injuries, the force Nathan Lewis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said it was an "incredibly dangerous situation". Police said the motorist had reportedly been driving in a dangerous manner, speeding and overtaking other cars on bends before losing control near the pub entrance and crashing into its van was "completely written-off" and another car sustained "significant damage", the force Lewis said: "This was an incredibly dangerous situation that thankfully didn't result in anyone sustaining any injuries."That this didn't happen was down to sheer luck, when you consider the damage caused to both vehicles and the crash's location near the entrance to a pub."
