Man 'repeatedly stabbed with a kitchen knife in unprovoked attack' near luxury hotel Claridge's in Mayfair
A man was allegedly stabbed five times with a kitchen knife in a random attack near hotel Claridge's in Mayfair. Witnesses in businesses along Brook's Mews, behind the 5* hotel, said the violent ordeal happened at around 7.30am today - with footage showing the area cordoned off and a knife on the floor. One witness said the victim was stabbed three times in the abdomen, once in the back and once in the arm. 'As I got into work I saw police and ambulances present,' the witness said. 'Police told us a random attack occurred. 'They said the person was attacked randomly and stabbed five times - three times in the abdomen, once in the back and once in the arm. 'Apparently nothing was stolen. Apparently the suspect fled before the police arrived. Did YOU see the incident? Email 'We saw one person - apparently a man - taken away in an ambulance.' They added: 'It was quite scary to have all that happening as we got into work.' A Met Police spokesperson confirmed officers were investigating an incident, and there were no fatalities.

Bodies of man and woman recovered from beneath cliff at Whitby Abbey
Two bodies have been recovered from beneath the cliff at Whitby Abbey, police have said. A member of the public called the police at around 7.15pm on Wednesday after spotting a man and a woman on the rocks below, North Yorkshire police said. The Coastguard coordinated a helicopter recovery to ambulance crews near Whitby Abbey which was completed at 8.24pm. Paramedics confirmed the deaths and the bodies have been taken to hospital by ambulance. An investigation into the circumstances of the deaths is under way while police seek to trace the man and woman's next of kin. Witnesses to the incident or anyone with information that could assist officers are urged to call North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 12250141734.

Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash on Highway 174
A man is in hospital in critical condition after a motorcycle crash on Highway 174 westbound near Blair Road. Emergency services responded to calls of a single-vehicle collision in the city's east end at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Paramedics said the driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, and that he is still in hospital as of Wednesday. No one else was injured, police said. Police said they are still investigating and are seeking witnesses to the crash, or anyone who may have dashcam footage.

Teenage girls ‘inappropriately touched' by two men while walking through popular park
TWO teenage girls were "inappropriately touched" by two men while walking through a popular park. Cops said the victims were wandering through the football fields in Newbold Comyn, Warwickshire when they were assaulted. An investigation has since been launched into the incident, which took place at 9.45pm on Saturday, June 21. In a statement, Warwickshire police said "We've been pursuing a number of lines of enquiry as part of our ongoing investigation into this incident including speaking to the victims and collecting CCTV footage. "We know there were people in the park that evening and as it was the longest day of the year, we're hoping it might help to jog someone's memory who was there but may not have realised what was happening. Market Drayton Morrisons store targeted in attempted break-in
A cash machine has been severely damaged in an attempted break-in by robbers, police targeted an ATM at the Morrisons on Maer Lane, Market Drayton, Shropshire, at about 02:00 BST on cash was stolen from the machine but it was left badly damaged in the attempt, the force said.
