Gwyneth Paltrow Becomes Astronomer Spokesperson After Coldplay Scandal
Originally appeared on E! Online Out of a sky full of stars, Astronomer wants Gwyneth Paltrow on its team. One week after her ex Chris Martin joked about Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot—then the respective CEO and human resource head of Astronomer—"having an affair" when they hid from the camera at a July 15 concert, the Oscar winner weighed in with a humorous take on the matter. "I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer," Paltrow quipped in a video released by the DataOps company July 25. "Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days and they wanted me to answer the most common ones." But instead of breaking down the cheating speculation surrounding Byron and Cabot, the so-called "temporary spokesperson" started answering questions about data operations. "We've been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation," Paltrow gushed, before plugging Astronomer's DataOps conference as an answer for "other questions we've received" in the wake of the scandal. She hilariously cut off Q&A submissions reading, 'OMG what the actual f—' and 'How is your social media team holding—" to expertly shift the focus back to the brand. "We will now be returning to what we do best: Delivering game-changing results to our customers," the Iron Man actress added. "Thank you for your interest in Astronomer." Needless to say, the internet quickly caught onto Astronomer's cheekiness in having Paltrow star in its latest ad. More from E! "Amazing crisis management," one X user wrote, while another commented, "This is quite possibly the best recovery play I've seen a company pull off in a while. Way to lean into it lmao." A third X user praised, "This is a PR masterclass. You take the most viral moment of July 2025 and, instead of disaster control, make light of the situation and create the ultimate brand awareness." As for Byron and Cabot? The pair—who were seen in a close embrace at the Coldplay concert, before quickly pulling away when they realized they were shown on the jumbotron—have stepped down from their respective roles at Astronomer following their viral moment. "Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted," the company wrote in a July 19 statement to E! News, adding that the former CEO has failed to meet the company's standards of conduct following an internal investigation. "The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO." Days later, Cabot also parted ways with the organization. "I can confirm that Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer,' a company rep told NBC News July 24. 'She has resigned." Why Is ServiceNow Stock Surging?
Photo illustration byServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) is making headlines in the stock market—and for valid reasons. The cloud-based workflow automation firm has been experiencing significant growth recently, with its stock increasing by 25% over the last year. ServiceNow's latest earnings significantly exceeded expectations. Revenue surged to over $3.2 billion, and earnings surpassed forecasts. Such a considerable overachievement does not go unnoticed. Following the announcement, the stock soared. The company has also raised its revenue outlook for the full year. While NOW stock has been climbing, if you are looking for an upside with less volatility than individual stocks, the Trefis High Quality portfolio offers an alternative—having outperformed the S&P 500 and generating returns that exceed 91% since its inception. The company's "Now Assist" platform leverages generative AI to automate workflows across IT, HR, customer service, and various other areas. And it's proving successful—deal volume for AI-powered products has surged, and customers are quickly signing up. There's a strong belief that AI will shape the future of enterprise technology, and ServiceNow is strategically positioned within that space. Furthermore, ServiceNow isn't only securing small contracts; they finalized nearly 90 agreements worth over $1 million each in the last quarter. More than 500 customers currently spend upwards of $5 million annually. Such substantial demand gives the stock significant longevity. ServiceNow has also made significant strides into the public sector, aiding government agencies in modernization efforts. With local offices and federal agencies all pursuing digital upgrades, this presents a vast growth opportunity—and a consistent source of recurring revenue. What Lies Ahead? If the company continues to capitalize on the AI trend, securing major enterprise contracts and delivering robust earnings surprises, the momentum may persist. ServiceNow's central role in digital workflows and enterprise AI indicates it still has the potential for expansion—especially if the broader tech rally remains intact. Not entirely satisfied with the volatile nature of NOW stock? The Trefis High Quality (HQ) Portfolio, featuring a selection of 30 stocks, has a proven history of comfortably outperforming the S&P 500 throughout the last 4 years. What is the reason for this? As a collective, HQ Portfolio stocks have yielded superior returns with reduced risk when compared to the benchmark index; they offer a smoother ride, as observed in HQ Portfolio performance metrics.

Pegasystems (PEGA) Stock Trades Up, Here Is Why
What Happened? Shares of enterprise workflow software provider Pegasystems (NASDAQ:PEGA) jumped 9.9% in the afternoon session after the company reported strong second-quarter financial results that surpassed analyst expectations and raising its full-year outlook. The business software company announced revenue of $384.5 million and adjusted earnings of $0.28 per share, both of which came in ahead of Wall Street forecasts. Growth was driven by a significant increase in its Pega Cloud division, as Annual Contract Value (ACV), a key subscription metric, rose 16% year-over-year to $1.51 billion. The company's focus on AI-powered workflow automation tools for large enterprises appeared to be paying off. The strong performance prompted management to lift its financial forecast for the full year, signaling confidence in sustained demand. Following the report, several Wall Street analysts reiterated their positive ratings on the stock, citing the robust cloud momentum and improved profitability outlook. Is now the time to buy Pegasystems? Access our full analysis report here, it's free. What Is The Market Telling Us Pegasystems's shares are somewhat volatile and have had 14 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today's move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business. The biggest move we wrote about over the last year was 3 months ago when the stock gained 32.6% on the news that the company reported strong first-quarter 2025 results that significantly exceeded analysts' expectations on both revenue and EPS. Total revenue growth was underpinned by a 23% increase in Pega Cloud annual contract value and a 21% jump in backlog, both suggesting sustained momentum in client demand and deeper customer commitments. Zooming out, we think this was a solid quarter. Pegasystems is up 18.9% since the beginning of the year, and at $55.25 per share, it is trading close to its 52-week high of $56.15 from January 2025. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Pegasystems's shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $1,065. Unless you've been living under a rock, it should be obvious by now that generative AI is going to have a huge impact on how large corporations do business. While Nvidia and AMD are trading close to all-time highs, we prefer a lesser-known (but still profitable) semiconductor stock benefiting from the rise of AI.
