1 dead following industrial accident at Metrolinx rail yard in Mississauga
An investigation is underway aftre one person died following an industrial accident at a Metrolinx rail maintenance yard in Mississauga. One person has died following a workplace incident at a Metrolinx rail maintenance yard in Mississauga on Monday. The provincial transportation agency said the industrial accident happened at 6211 Goreway Dr., near Zahavy Way, just west off Highway 427. Paramedics said they responded to a call at that rail yard, but did not transport any patients to the hospital. The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development said it was notified of the incident and has assigned an inspector to investigate.

1 killed, 2 injured after metal structure collapses in workplace incident east of Montreal
Social Sharing The Sûreté du Québec is investigating after one person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a workplace incident in Sorel-Tracy, located 90 kilometres east of Montreal. SQ spokesperson Laurie Avoine said emergency services were called at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday for an incident at a site on Highway 132, near the intersection of Jean-Talon Street. Preliminary information indicates that a forklift operating above ground level fell onto a metal structure that then collapsed, Avoine said. One person was declared dead at the scene, while two others were transported to hospital for treatment. Avoine said their injuries, though serious, were not life-threatening. An investigation is underway to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. "We have to validate that there is no criminal element," Avoine said.

Workplace tragedy in Bruce County
One person is dead and another has been seriously injured following a workplace incident near Chepstow. The South Bruce OPP say they, along with the Brockton Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedic Services, were called to a property on Concession 6, near Chepstow, around 6 a.m. Friday morning. They say they found a person trapped under a concrete wall. Police say a 37 year old from Hanover died as a result, and a 35 year old from Arran-Elderslie was rushed to a trauma centre in London, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to police. The Ministry of Labour has been notified and is now leading the investigation into the workplace death.

Hanover resident dies in workplace incident

Ontario Provincial Police, Bruce County Paramedic Services and Brockton Fire and Emergency Services were called to Concession 6 of Greenock on Friday at around 6 a.m. When emergency services arrived, they found a person trapped under a concrete wall. A 37-year-old Hanover resident died and a 35-year-old Arran-Elderslie resident was hurt and taken to a trauma centre. The Ministry of Labour will be investigating.
