Uninsured driver turned away from checkpoint in Co Sligo
Sligo Champion A 56-year-old man who turned away from a checkpoint and drove into a licensed premises was found to have no insurance and driving without a driver's licence. David Carey, Carron, Bonniconlon, Co Mayo was charged with the offences and also not having an nct on June 11 2024.

Paris 2024 Olympian is among up to 60 boxers training at the club Bray People A Wicklow boxing club that produced an Olympian for Paris 2024 is facing a fight for its own future – and for the hopes of the boxer who was 'robbed of her dream' last August. It was Enniskerry Boxing Club that brought Bray's Daina Moorehouse to Paris last year. The then 22-year-old suffered what was viewed as a contentious split-decision loss to France's Wassila Lkhadiri in the last 16 of the women's 50kg division in Paris.
