A photo featuring multiple delivery riders taken at Bengaluru's Sony Signal has taken the internet by storm and sparked a hilarious meme fest. The viral photo captured a striking moment of spontaneous 'unity,' and it has led to many funny comparisons. The photo shows five food and grocery delivery riders in different coloured raincoats on two-wheelers on a rainy evening. Their attire has their company names, so we know that they work for Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit and Flipkart Minutes. Many have compared the delivery riders to Marvel's Avengers by sharing GIFs and pictures with "Avengers Assemble" written on them. A few have also called it a type of multiverse moment by captioning the picture "QC (Quick Commerce) Universe," or "DCU (Delivery Cinematic Universe)." The latter is also a pop cultural reference - a possible nod to the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. New Leader Of The MCU Avengers Confirmed By Marvel
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gradually moving towards its next big Avengers team-up movie, its first since the events of Avengers: Endgame . In fact, the two team-ups will occur in the form of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars . With the roster having changed so much since the events of Endgame , however, MCU fans might be surprised by the new Avengers leader confirmed by Marvel. In other words, The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman revealed the new Avengers leader while speaking in a new interview. Obviously Shakman had plenty of work to accomplish with his Fantastic Four endeavor, not only introducing the fan-favorite superhero team to the MCU, but setting the stage for their immediate return in Avengers: Doomsday . Additionally, not only did the team have to appear in Avengers: Doomsday , but it looks like one of the Fantastic Four members will have a much bigger role to play when it comes to the new Avengers film. Here's what Shakman had to share with Variety on that front and the difficulty of finding an actor that could play the part: 'He goes from being the nerdy scientist who's locked away in the lab, to the husband and the father who'd do anything to protect his family, to the guy who's leading the Avengers,' Shakman said. 'I realized that the version we were building had to have all of those elements.' Shakman is referring to none other than the Fantastic Four's own leader, Reed Richards, who will be played by Pedro Pascal in the new adaptation. It looks like Pascal's character will not only lead that superhero team, however, but he'll ultimately learn to lead the MCU's Avengers as well. It does make sense that he'd become the leader of the MCU Avengers, however, especially when one considers Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom will be the film's major antagonist. Ultimately, fans will have to wait until December 18, 2026 to see how Reed Richards comes to lead the Avengers in Avengers: Doomsday . The ‘Fantastic Four' Rotten Tomatoes Score Is Genuinely Fantastic
Fantastic Four Marvel has a lot riding on the success of Fantastic Four, not only bringing the iconic heroes to life after middling-to-awful attempts pre-MCU, but having them be a key face of the next Avengers movie, Doomsday. It turns out their faith in the cast and WandaVision director Matt Shakman was well-placed. The review embargo for Fantastic Four has lifted, with the movie out for the rest of us on Friday, July 25, and the critic scores are mostly glowing. Though more reviews are filtering in over time, as I write this, Fantastic Four has an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. Here's how that stacks up to the other post-Endgame films in this era, where, as you can see, it compares favorably. That does not put it inside the top 10 in the MCU, but critics have been, on average, harsher on MCU films compared to audiences since Endgame, which can be seen in the data. That score ties it with the very good, though underwatched, Thunderbolts, from just a few months back, which is interesting to see. It also means that the tie is for the fourth best-scored MCU film since Avengers: Endgame in 2019, with this often being a bit of a tough era. Though two of the others were huge Spider-Man films, to be fair. Notably, this is also a bit higher than DCU's popular Superman film that just released, which scored an 83% (though it has a stellar 92% audience score). Fantastic Four Fantastic Four is an out-there move for the MCU, making a '60s-era movie set in a completely different universe from the main MCU Earth, disconnected from the rest of it until, of course, it won't be. It's no spoiler to say that the First Family will soon head over to the rest of the MCU, and we already know they will join the likes of Thor, Captain America, the Thunderbolts and the old FOX X-Men for Avengers: Doomsday. What do critics like? The term 'a breath of fresh air' for the MCU comes up a lot in these reviews, and praise for the cast and some individual members. Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm, often perhaps an overlooked member of the team, is supposed to be a real standout. So, what will audiences think? Benedict Cumberbatch slams Marvel diet and wasteful film sets: ‘I could feed a family'
Benedict Cumberbatch has criticised the film industry's excesses, revealing shocking behind-the-scenes details of his Marvel diet while labelling Hollywood as 'grossly wasteful'. In a candid appearance on Ruthie's Table 4, the actor admitted the food intake required for his role as Doctor Strange left him feeling deeply uncomfortable. 'I think it's horrific eating beyond your appetite,' Cumberbatch said. 'I could feed a family with the amount I'm eating.' His superhero diet involved five meals a day, with constant snacking in between, boiled eggs, almond butter crackers, and cheese among the required staples. A chef supervised his nutrition regimen, tailored to keep him in peak shape for the role, but Cumberbatch now sees it as a symbol of broader problems in the entertainment world. 'It's a grossly wasteful industry,' he continued. 'Think about set builds that aren't recycled, think about transport, think about food, think about housing, but also light and energy.' He acknowledged the criticism often aimed at celebrities who advocate sustainability while working in industries built on excess. 'There's always a level of hypocrisy,' he admitted, but said he's trying to make small changes as a producer through his company SunnyMarch. Even seemingly minor actions matter, he said, like having a 'gentlemanly discussion' about removing single-use plastics from film sets. 'You don't have to give the crew plastic bottles. If you're in the middle of a desert and you can't get glass bottles there, fair enough. But we're in 21st Century.' Cumberbatch isn't currently slated to appear in the next Avengers film and seems to be re-evaluating his role in the industry. His remarks have sparked strong reactions online, with some applauding his honesty and others calling for him to walk away from blockbuster projects entirely if he's serious about reform.
