16 Teams Compete in ‘Mobile Legends: Bang Bang' Women's Tournament in Riyadh
The second week of the Esports World Cup 2025 kicked off in Riyadh on Tuesday featuring the 'Mobile Legends: Bang Bang' Women's Invitational (MWI). The tournament is a key event on the competition's calendar, bringing together top global mobile gaming stars for the second consecutive year, reported the Saudi Press Agency. Since its release in 2016, 'Mobile Legends: Bang Bang' has established itself as one of the world's leading esports titles, thanks to its widely followed international and regional tournaments. With over 110 million monthly active users, it has become one of the most popular mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games globally. This year's edition is the largest in the tournament's history, featuring 16 teams compared to 12 last year, with qualifiers held across 57 regions worldwide, up from 46 regions in the previous edition. The current edition features 16 teams representing 13 regions from around the world. The participating teams are Team Vitality, ONIC Pertiwi, Natus Vincere PH, Team Liquid, Natus Vincere MY, SFU Serendipity, Falcons Vega MENA, DreamMax Girls, Rising Rage, WAOW GG Esports, FE, FUT Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, Twisted Minds Orchid, Tidal Legends Gaming, and Terror Queens. The teams will compete for a total prize pool of $500,000, with an additional $50,000 awarded to the best player. The tournament also offers 3,350 points toward the Club Championship race in the Esports World Cup 2025. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are prominently represented by Twisted Minds Orchid and Falcons Vega MENA, both aiming for their first title in the tournament and carrying the hopes of their supporters for a historic achievement. Twisted Minds Orchid features Saudi players 'Lyrx,' 'Lunar,' and 'Livin,' while Falcons Vega MENA competes with an all-Egyptian lineup of 'Velvet,' 'Sunlight,' 'Yui,' 'Names,' and 'Fvvn.'

The Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race saw 7 000 participants
Seven thousand runners and walkers filled the streets of Parkview on the morning of July 13 for the annual Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race. The race, which began outside the Johannesburg Zoo, saw runners and walkers complete the 5, 10 and 21.1km. The director of the Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race, Saul Levin, said the annual race was in honour of their member who was brutally killed. 'We are 50 years old this year and have probably hosted the race for 40-odd years. The race is about having fun and allowing runners to enjoy and run through hills and their neighbourhood hills. 'We started in Orlando, Soweto, and today we are at the Zoo Lake in partnership with the Rockies Road Runners Club. The turnout was great, approximately 2 000 participants were part of Vitality. Kuzwayo concluded that he looked forward to the next three running events, which will be in Randburg, and at Old Edwardians Society and the DP World Wanderers Stadium. ASUS ROG unveils new esports gear, partners with top pro players at Computex 2025
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has showcased a range of new esports-focused products at Computex 2025.. The latest releases include the ROG Falcata 75% gaming keyboard, the esports-targeted ROG Harpe II Ace gaming mouse, the Strix Ace XG248 gaming monitor, new ROG Courser and Destrier Core gaming chairs, and the ROG Sheath II XXL mouse pad. ROG developed these products in collaboration with professional esports players to meet the demands of precision, speed, and reliability required in high-level play. Max Demon1 Mazanov, a VALORANT Champions winner, contributed to the design of the Harpe II Ace mouse, which focuses on optimising it for claw and fingertip grip styles. The ROG Harpe II Ace mouse is designed for esports players seeking precision and speed. Made from bio-based nylon to reduce weight and environmental impact, it weighs 48 grams and features the ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor with 42,000 dpi and track-on-glass technology. The mouse supports a true wireless 8000Hz polling rate enabled by the new ROG SpeedNova 8K technology. The mouse can be configured through a browser-based interface via ROG Gear Link without software installation. The Strix Ace XG248 gaming monitor debuted alongside the mouse. It uses a Super TN panel with a 610Hz refresh rate and 0.8ms input lag, which aims to deliver fast and responsive visuals for esports competition.
