Authorities have identified the human remains found near Taylor Swift's Rhode Island home.
After several outlets reported on the remains last month, the South Kingstown Police Department revealed in a June 13 statement that the remains belonged to 31-year-old Eric Wein of Massachusetts.
"After working closely with the Mansfield Police Department and the Rhode Island Office of the State Medical Examiners, the South Kingstown Police Department has formally concluded its investigation," the statement read. "No foul play is suspected."
"We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Wein's family and loved ones during this difficult time," the statement concluded.
Wein's remains washed ashore on May 14 in Westerly, Rhode Island, which includes the wealthy enclave of Watch Hill, where Swift owns her sprawling residence.

The home, called "Holiday House," inspired the fan favorite hit song, including "The Last Great American Dynasty" from her 2020 album "Folklore." The home even inspired beloved New York Times bestselling author Emily Henry's newest book, "Great Big Beautiful Life."
Henry's book, released April 22, follows Alice and Hayden, two journalists vying for the chance to write a blockbuster celebrity memoir.
The "Beach Read" author revealed in an interview earlier this year that she drew the story from several real-life tales, including Swift's 2020 song, which is about her Westerly mansion's previous owner, Rebekah Harkness.
"I love that song, and love the story behind it," she told E! News in April. "Every once in a while, I find myself back on the Wikipedia page, just reading through. I just find those kinds of larger-than-life families really, really intriguing."
"Holiday House" also inspired possible Rhode Island legislation that would enact a "Taylor Swift tax," officially called the "non-owner-occupied tax," which applies to all residential properties assessed at more than $1 million that do not serve as a primary dwelling.
To qualify as a primary residence, an owner has to live there more than half the year, or 183 days. By this criteria, Swift would owe Rhode Island around $136,000 in new taxes on her Watch Hill mansion if a new charge to high-end vacation homes proposed in the House version of the state budget passes.

He also challenged Lively's legal team's position that the communications would be 'duplicative' after Baldoni's lawyers withdrew their subpoena of Swift 'and made public statements that they had 'everything that they needed.' Rather, said Liman, 'The Wayfarer Parties have not yet received any communications between Lively and Swift.' However, Liman did narrow the scope of Baldoni's initial sprawling request to only permit communications about the film or the ongoing case, as 'Lively has represented that Swift had knowledge of complaints or discussions about the working environment on the film, among other issues.' Baldoni and the rest of the Wayfarer Parties were also cautioned against 'leak[ing] the requested communications to the press,' per a court-issued protective order. 'The mere fact that the request has been discussed in the press does not render it illegitimate.' In late December, Lively filed a complaint and lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment on the film's set and a retaliatory online smear campaign. He filed a $400 million defamation and civil extortion countersuit against the actress, her husband Ryan Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane — which Liman dismissed last week. The judge simultaneously dismissed Baldoni's $250 million libel action against The New York Times' reporting of the allegations. Baldoni has until next week to amend the claims for breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contract. The case is slated for trial next March.

The fandoms of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo are going head-to-head on social media after a video clip of a Bluebird Cafe employee misspeaking was posted to social media. "It's developed into this whole monster," Erika Nichols, the general manager of the cafe, tells The Tennessean. The drama stemmed from a video posted to X on June 17. In the video, an employee is talking with some influencers about the history of the iconic destination where Swift was discovered in 2004. A photo of the Eras Tour singer on the back stage was from a limited time exhibition of images by Deone Jahnke in 2008, according to Nichols. Swift also has a dedicated chair and headshot on another wall. In 2023, Rodrigo played a quick afternoon set with Sheryl Crow. The two did an acoustic performance of "If It Makes You Happy." Internet sleuths tracked down the performance and noticed the poster of Swift was gone. When an influencer asked a Bluebird employee about Swift's missing picture, the employee said, "We vowed to remove any visible signs of Taylor Swift" as the request of Rodrigo's team, adding, "We gotta respect the girlies." His inaccurate spitballing has been viewed more than 5.7 million times and taken on a life of its own. " The truth of it is Olivia's people did not ask for the Taylor Swift picture to be taken down," Nichols says. "We did not take her headshot off the wall. We did not remove the chair that has her name. You can see on the video of Olivia and Sheryl that we have our Bluebird posters in the background. This is something we do every time we have a professional filming in here. We're very careful not to use images that we don't have the rights to use. We remove them and put up our posters." Bluebird Cafe recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to clear the air about a potential feud between and Olivia Rodrigo. On Wednesday, the establishment's manager addressed some unfounded reports speculating that the latter's team had asked the restaurant to remove the former's photo. She clarified that the staff removed the image of their own volition. It was because the photo was in an unfavorable position as Rodrigo filmed something in their cafe. Bluebird Cafe's manager, Erika Wollam Nichols, recently clarified whether Olivia Rodrigo's team had asked the staff to remove Taylor Swift's photo from their establishment. She took to X (formerly Twitter) on June 18 to 'bring some truth to some questions in discussion that have been put out on the internet.' In the video, she denied fans' claims that Rodrigo's team asked them to remove Swift's photo while they were filming. Nichols noted that the cafe's staff put it away as it was in a spot that was in the frame while the 22-year-old was filming. She admitted that the Nashville eatery did indeed have Rodrigo visiting them for filming purposes. However, she and her team did not ask the establishment to remove the photo. The staff decided to put away the image as it was in the way of the former Disney star's filming. The general manager further explained how they are legally bound to remove any and every photo that is under copyright. Since the Nashville cafe doesn't 'own those images,' the establishment doesn't have the right to 'give permission for those images to be used in any kind of broadcast.' She further emphasized, 'That's the sole reason that the photograph was removed from the place it stood.' Nichols highlighted that the 'employee who spoke out of turn about this did not understand why that image was removed.' She admitted that the staff member 'spoke carelessly and haphazardly.' The COO reiterated, 'But irregardless, that image was removed for legal reasons.' She also assured fans that the other photos of Swift remained untouched during the time of filming. Nichols noted, 'Her headshot is there. Her chair still stands strong.' Moreover, she clarified that the pop sensation's photo wasn't the only one that had to be removed. There were other images that had to be put away as well. She asked for the internet's understanding, clarifying that there was no bad blood between the two singers.
