Mike Lynch's superyacht set to be brought to town where prosecutors are based
Tech tycoon Mike Lynch's superyacht is set to be taken to the town where Italian prosecutors investigating the sinking are based.
Seven people died when the Bayesian sank off Sicily on August 19 including billionaire Mr Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18.
Salvage crews spent Saturday raising the 56-metre (184ft) yacht above the water using one of Europe's most powerful sea cranes near the fishing town of Porticello.
They said that on Sunday the vessel will be taken to Termini Imerese, a town around 20km away, where prosecutors investigating the sinking are based.
Italian prosecutors previously said raising and examining the yacht for evidence would provide key information for its investigation into possible charges of manslaughter and negligent shipwreck.
The vessel was originally expected to be raised last month but salvage efforts were delayed after a diver died during underwater work on May 9, prompting greater use of remote-controlled equipment.
About 70 specialist personnel had been mobilised to Porticello from across Europe to work on the recovery operation, which began last month.
Inquest proceedings in the UK are looking at the deaths of Mr Lynch and his daughter, as well as Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife, Judy Bloomer, 71, who were all British nationals.
Fifteen people, including Mr Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued.
Mr Lynch and his daughter were said to have lived in the vicinity of London and the Bloomers lived in Sevenoaks, Kent.

A Wisconsin couple have been charged in a plot to kill two women with cyanide, and several investigators tracking the pair were hospitalized after coming into contact with the poison, according to prosecutors and reports. This time, the woman brought the bottle to the police, who tested it and confirmed it contained cyanide. Around the same time, another woman in Rock County was hospitalized after drinking cyanide-tainted water found in her car after a gym visit. Both alleged victims briefly dated VanDuyne, prosecutors said. VanDuyne was arrested Sunday after the hazmat-linked investigations and after authorities caught him allegedly trying to help cover up evidence. Police had been monitoring VanDuyne but were forced to move quickly when he tried to contact the Rock County woman last weekend. He was arrested and booked Sunday. While in jail, VanDuyne called Whitaker and asked her to remove items from his house, prosecutors said. Agents intercepted her leaving with her belongings. When searching her phone, they found multiple messages between the couple discussing different poisons. Prosecutors believe the pair were planning to murder VanDuyne's ex-girlfriends with poison. At least seven state investigators on the case have been hospitalized for possible exposure to the poison, reported. The outlet reported that Dane County Assistant District Attorney William Brown revealed Whitaker's online history included searches for "Does potassium cyanide cloud water?" and "Sodium cyanide odor, sodium cyanide." Searches also included "What does cyanide look like?" and "Cyanide lethal," he said. VanDuyne and Whitaker face charges in Rock County of attempted homicide, aggravated battery, reckless endangerment and stalking — all involving a dangerous weapon. In Dane County, VanDuyne faces more charges for attempted homicide and stalking, while Whitaker is also accused of helping him and trying to cover it up. Seven agencies were involved in the investigation, including the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation, the Rock County Sheriff's Office, the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratories and the FBI.

SJPD investigating Saturday evening stabbing
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — St. Joseph police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday afternoon near Woods Mini Mart. According to Sgt. Casey Guyer with the St. Joseph Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a man walking near Subway with visible neck injuries that appeared to be stab wounds. Responding officers located the man across the street at Woods Mini Mart. He appeared to have sustained two stab wounds, one being in the armpit, and was transported by ambulance to the emergency room. Police say the investigation is ongoing. The victim is currently in stable condition at Mosaic Life Care, according to SJPD. News-Press NOW will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Hemet man arrested for alleged stabbing on Riverside County highway
A man was arrested in connection with a stabbing on a Riverside County highway this week. Deputies were dispatched to the 45000 block of Highway 74 in an unincorporated part of Hemet at around 3 p.m. on Thursday after learning of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. "Deputies arrived and located an adult male with injuries consistent with a stab wound," said a press release from the department. "The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries." The victim told investigators that the suspect was 30-year-old Roman Neely, a Hemet resident. He was located nearby and taken into custody without incident, deputies said. He was booked for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators served a search warrant at a home in the area "where evidence of the stabbing was located," the release said.
