Over 5,000 participate in yoga camp at Madanapalle
District Collector Sridhar Chamakuri inaugurated an impressive yoga camp at BT College Grounds on Wednesday. Over 5,000 yoga enthusiasts from across the Annamayya district attended the camp. The event was held under the government's flagship initiative, 'Yogandhra.'
Addressing the participants, the Collector said that integrating yoga into daily life helps protect one's health, but it also guides a person to adopt a disciplined regime in social, personal, and professional life. 'Make yoga a regular part of your daily routine. It not only boosts the physical stamina of the practitioner but also sharpens mental clarity,' the Collector said.
Highlighting the increase in lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and various disorders due to a lack of physical activity. The Collector said: 'The world is advancing rapidly, and our dietary habits are deteriorating. We need to incorporate fitness into our daily regime, be it yoga, walking, any sport, or a game.'
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Collector stressed the importance of maintaining strong immunity. He asked senior citizens and women to visit the public parks in Madanapalle for morning walks and yoga. He instructed the local police to create safe environs for morning walkers, particularly women. 'If necessary, we can even create separate grounds for women,' he said.
The Collector congratulated Joint Collector Adarsh Rajendran, Sub Collector Megha Swaroop, and the HoDs of various departments for meticulous planning and execution of the event.

Bhopal: The reports of 11 samples from suspected Covid-19 patients were received on Saturday; all tested negative. COVID can be dangerous for individuals with low immunity, such as cancer patients, dialysis patients, and those with co-morbidities like diabetes, so they should take special precautions, he said.

Ayush Nirmata Sangh secretary Ashish Dubey said, "We are anticipating a surge in demand for immunity boosters as cases of Covid-19 again started to increase. Many units started preparations and are gradually increasing production." Another manufacturer owner of a local Ayurvedic firm Ravi Kumar said, "We saw an increase in enquiries for our immunity products. To meet this demand, we are expanding our operations to ensure we can deliver quality products to our customers promptly. Also, monsoon and winters are main demand period of Ayurvedic products when demand rises." Six-month-old tests positive for Covid-19
Vadodara: A six-month-old baby girl has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently undergoing treatment at the state-run Sir Sayajirao General Hospital (SSGH), making her the first indoor Covid-19 patient in the city during the recent spike in infections. Hospital officials said the baby was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital's medical nursing home on Friday as a suspected case. Her test reports later confirmed she was positive for the virus. Doctors at SSGH said on Saturday that the infant's condition is stable. She is on room air and does not require oxygen support but is being closely monitored. In the past 24 hours ending Saturday evening, five new Covid-19 cases were reported in the city, including the baby. The other four cases were detected in Ektanagar (east zone), Mujmahuda and Akota (west zone), and Harni and Warasiya (north zone). With these new cases, the city's cumulative Covid-19 tally has reached 22. Except for the baby under hospital care, all other patients are in home isolation, according to health officials.
