Jurgen Klopp sends heartfelt message after Liverpool win Premier League
Jurgen Klopp has sent an emotional message to Liverpool after the club sealed their record-equalling 20th Premier League title in their first season since his departure.
Liverpool were officially crowned champions on Sunday and did so in emphatic style, thrashing Tottenham 5-1 in front of a packed-out Anfield to make their advantage at the top of the table an unassailable one.
Arne Slot achieved what only four managers have done before him by winning the Premier League in his first season, guiding the club to championship glory with four games to spare.
Slot put his success down to the incredible squad he inherited last summer, which was built by Klopp before being further refined by the Dutchman.
Klopp has now spoken out on his former side's triumph, having spent nine glory-laden seasons at Anfield where he won everything there was to win.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: 'Super grateful for the past, super, super happy about the present, extremely positive about the future!
'Congratulations - YNWA. Thank You Luv.'
Klopp ended Liverpool's 30-year wait to win a league title, propelling the Reds to the Premier League pinnacle in 2019/20.
However, the culmination of three decades of hurt was marred by the Covid pandemic, which forced the trophy to be lifted behind closed doors and prevented any parade from happening in the months that followed.
Sunday's victory scratched Liverpool's itch to celebrate a Premier League title with fans, with jubilant scenes witnessed both inside and outside of Anfield. There will also be a trophy parade this time around, which will take place on Monday 26 May - the day after their final game.
Slot's Liverpool arrival was announced by Klopp on the final day of last season in the form of a chant - and the Reds manager made sure to return the gesture when he took to the mic.
'The best thing I can do now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen, so there we go,' he said. 'Jurrrrgen Klopp, na na, na na na!'
Officially, there has been no word yet from Liverpool that Klopp will be at Anfield when they lift the Premier League trophy on Sunday May 25, or the subsequent parade the day after - but it seems very much possible.
Klopp, 57, will return to the city two days prior, as a guest speaker at the LFC Foundation's annual Gala Ball on Friday 23 May. The German is an honorary ambassador for the club's official charity.
He will attend the black tie event at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, with the prospect of him staying in the city over the weekend for the title celebrations a possibility.

5 options for Liverpool's next transfer after Wirtz including Arsenal hijack
Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz but it appears that Arne Slot is not quite finished in the transfer window quite yet with a number of sensational deals still on the table Liverpool have already enjoyed a sensational summer transfer window. They have sealed deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi and Florian Wirtz is set to follow that duo in a potential British record deal. And while that is set to take the Reds' summer spending so far to around £150m, it looks like Arne Slot is not totally satisfied. A striker is still on Liverpool 's shopping list, with Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa all potentially set to leave Anfield over the coming weeks. The Merseysiders haven't spent heavily on forwards over recent years - with just Nunez, Jota and Dominic Solanke all being signed since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp. But Slot could change that trend ahead of Liverpool's title defence. A number of big-name forwards have already been linked with moves to Anfield. So take a look and find out who could be leading the line for the Premier League champions next season: Benjamin Sesko Already linked with a move to the Premier League, Arsenal have the RB Leipzig star firmly in their crosshairs. And it's no surprise given his eye-catching goalscoring exploits in Germany over recent years. Sesko, 22, has scored 39 goals for Leipzig over his last two campaigns. And while Arsenal appeared to be the front-runners for his services, Liverpool could represent fresh competition. According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have been keeping tabs on his development over in Germany. And as it stands, he would be more affordable than some other options, while Liverpool could benefit from a positive relationship with Leipzig to get a deal over the line. Alexander Isak On the topic of big-name forwards, Alexander Isak would be a stunning addition to Liverpool's squad. Apart from Erling Haaland, the Swede has arguably proved himself as the best forward in the Premier League with Newcastle. However, a deal would likely be tricky to do. With the Magpies having secured a Champions League place for next season, he might not be in a rush to leave. And they would also be demanding a huge fee for the former Real Sociedad man and given their upcoming outlay on Wirtz, it might be too much for the Reds despite him being dubbed a 'dream' signing. Which striker should Liverpool sign? Share your thoughts in the comments below Hugo Ekitike Another Bundesliga-based forward linked with a switch to the Premier League, Ekitike has a number of clubs interested in his services. Manchester United and Chelsea are both eyeing the Eintracht Frankfurt forward, as well as Slot's side. But the Frenchman won't be cheap either. Reports have suggested that Frankfurt are demanding around £85m for his signature this summer. Having scored 22 goals for the club last season, he might be a player worth gambling on. Victor Osimhen Following a stunning loan spell with Galatasaray, Osimhen 's future is back up in the air. The Turkish giants appear unlikely to extend their agreement with Napoli, while the Nigerian has burnt his bridges in Naples so a return there appears to be a pipe dream. Man United have been linked, while Liverpool's name has been mentioned on a few occasions in the past. Funnily enough, Osimhen could actually be one of the more affordable options that Slot could consider this campaign. It has been reported that he could be set to leave Napoli for around £63m, which could represent excellent value. But Liverpool will have to move quickly given United have reportedly resumed talks to sign him. Ademola Lookman Okay, we're cheating a little bit here given he's not an out-and-out number nine but Lookman's numbers with Atalanta over the past three seasons suggest he'd certainly be able to do a job. Since signing for the Italian side, he has scored an outstanding 52 goals in 117 appearances - 20 of those strikes coming in his most recent season. It has already been suggested that Liverpool could sign him in a part-exchange deal with Federico Chiesa going the other way. Of course, fans would have to ignore Lookman's previous Everton allegiances but as soon as the goals start going in, that shouldn't prove to be a problem for too long. Liverpool receive Alisson transfer offer as goalkeeper makes decision on future
Liverpool No 1 Alisson has received an offer from Turkish champions Galatasaray who made enquires to sign the Brazilian goalkeeper, only to see it knocked back Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is the subject of transfer interest with Galatasaray making an enquiry for the goalkeeper. The Brazilian has been quick to reject the offer and remains committed to life at Anfield. Alisson was the most expensive goalkeeper in history when he moved from Roma back in 2018 and has proved a hugely successful signing. Despite being 32, he's still at the peak of his powers and has just helped the Reds claim the top flight title. Liverpool's No 1 is under contract until 2027 and, despite several changes to their goalkeeping ranks, Alisson remains central to their plans and Sky Germany reports he's rejected the prospect of a move to the Turkish champions. The Merseysiders have just sanctioned the sale of Caoimhin Kelleher, who joined Brentford after a several years serving as an impressive deputy to Alisson. Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Georgian No 1, will also arrive from Valencia having been signed last summer. Alisson concedes he doesn't make long-term decisions but expects to remain with Liverpool as they continue building under Arne Slot with a World Cup triumph in America on his radar come next summer. He said: "I've never been able to plan long term. Obviously now I have one year left on my contract and another year of club option, which they will probably exercise. It's a decisive moment in my career, with a World Cup coming up. I want to be very focused, I don't want anything external to get in the way of that." Galatasaray have shown they're more than willing to spend huge sums as they continue to be their country's dominant force. They have just landed Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich with the winger's contract expiring this summer. They've handed the former Manchester City man huge wages with the German thought to be earning £410,000-per-week. Alisson has never expressed any great desire to leave Anfield and a host of Brazilians have previously decided to head back to their homeland as their careers go on. The Liverpool goalkeeper began his days with Internacional. Compatriots Neymar and Philippe Coutinho have returned to South America and Alisson admits he's heard mixed things. He said: "I talk to athletes who have made this move to return, some have had good experiences, others not. Each one will have their own experience, but I want to return, especially to Inter. I don't know when it will happen, but I still want to do it at a high level. That's what I have planned."
