Dialogue between CPC and political parties of neighboring countries held in Beijing
BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) in Dialogue with Political Parties of Neighboring Countries with the theme of "Building a Community with a Shared Future with Neighboring Countries: Political Parties in Action" was held in Beijing from May 25 to 26.
President of the People's Justice Party (PKR) and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and leader of Thailand's Pheu Thai Party and Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, sent congratulatory letters to the event.
Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said in his keynote speech that China prioritizes its diplomatic efforts in its neighboring regions. He added that China is willing to work with all parties to jointly build a common home that can shelter from the wind and rain amid times of turmoil on the basis of understanding and mutual trust.
Representatives of participating political parties highly appraised China's important propositions such as concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the three major global initiatives. They stated that Asian countries should enhance unity and cooperation, jointly maintain regional security and stability, and make Asian contributions to world peace and development.
More than 200 participants, including leaders of political parties, some diplomatic envoys to China, representatives of think tanks and media, and business people from neighboring countries, as well as Chinese representatives, attended the dialogue.

S.Korea expressed readiness to expand development cooperation with M'sia
KUALA LUMPUR: South Korea has expressed readiness to expand bilateral cooperation with Malaysia, particularly in road development, construction technology and intelligent transport systems, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. He said it was conveyed to him during his courtesy call on South Korea's Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sang Woo, in conjunction with Malaysia's participation in the 2025 Asia Pacific Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Forum held in the country. He said the meeting, which was a follow-up discussion from the bilateral talks held in Kuala Lumpur last November, also touched on the progress of negotiations for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the relevant fields, adding that the initial discussion for the MoU took place in the capital on April 16. 'Both parties hope that the MoU can be finalised and signed in conjunction with the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit, set for October in Kuala Lumpur. 'I believe that this strategic cooperation will pave the way for greater opportunities in technology transfer, capacity building and the development of more efficient, safer and sustainable infrastructure in Malaysia,' he said in a Facebook post today. Nanta noted that the effort aligns with the direction of the Malaysian ITS Roadmap 2030, which focuses on innovative, inclusive and resilient future mobility. Nanta also shared the success of the Road and Construction Technology Cooperation Seminar, which drew over 130 participants, including Malaysian and South Korean government agencies and industry players, describing it as reflecting a shared commitment to innovation and the development of competitive and future-ready infrastructure. 'I would like to express appreciation to South Korea's Ambassador to Malaysia, Yeo Seung-Bae, and the entire staff of the South Korean Embassy in Malaysia for their strong support in advancing various collaborative initiatives currently underway. 'Malaysia deeply values its close ties with South Korea and will remain steadfast in pursuing collaborations that bring mutual benefits to the people and nations of both sides,' he added.

Rafizi proves that he is a man of his word

Rafizi tenders resignation Vijay47: Outgoing economy minister Rafizi Ramli, the 2R that the nation is proud of, the person who always stood by his principles and, unlike most of his fellow politicians, never did anything to sully his name and image. Sadly, things have taken such a turn that he has been compelled to submit his resignation from the cabinet. So be it, and he did this without hesitation or regret because this is what he promised should he lose his party elections. In doing so, he fills his countless supporters with pride that one's word counts far more than clinging on to the privileges that position might offer. Yes, Rafizi, it is the far, far better thing that you do. Minister or not, we stand by you. Needless to say, we can now expect the outpourings of grief from that huge coterie of hypocrites that PKR is rife with, filling almost every rung of the party. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will lament what a terrible loss Rafizi's departure would be to the party. But what to do? Life must go on; the party stands above the individual. Yeah, sure. That is a song we have heard so many times. Betrayal is painful, especially when wrought by those considered allies or even friends. It is what this country has learned the hard way, especially in recent years. Yet, there is hope. Rafizi's abilities can still be harnessed to bring hope to Malaysia and, with it, might offer some repair to Anwar's lost respect. If the prime minister now wishes to assure us that the country is his great concern and is not running around the world futilely trying to convince us that he comes with merit, that he is not bothered by the riff-raff of Gaza, there is a simple path open to him.
