THREE teens were rushed to hospital after being electrocuted at a top private boarding school.
The boys were said to have been zapped by an overhead electrical cable at posh Millfield School in Somerset.

The lads, aged 13 to 14, suffered burns and needed surgery following the terrifying incident on Saturday.
Ambulances, an air ambulance, a specialist hazard team, fire engine and police scrambled to the scene in the town of Street after the alarm was raised.
The school has now been referred to the
Health
and Safety Executive for investigation.
A letter from the £58,000-a-year school's headmaster, Gavin Horgan, to parents said that a 'serious incident occurred yesterday evening.'

He said 'contact with overhead electrical cables' had left the teenagers with 'serious injuries.'
He added: 'The boys have undergone surgery overnight and are currently in a stable condition.
'It will be some time before we understand the extent of their injuries and it will be a long road to recovery.
'All three students have their families or close family friends with them.

'We are in close contact with the families and they are very grateful for the care that has been afforded to their children.'
The school has offered counselling to the other boys in the boarding house where it happened, the head said.

The headteacher asked parents to 'avoid speculation,' and tried to reassure them that it was an 'isolated incident.'
He said that the pupils were 'supported by Millfield staff within moments and emergency services were there within minutes.'

A Millfield spokesperson said: 'There is no ongoing danger to others.
The entire Millfield Community's thoughts and best wishes are with them all.
We ask for everyone to respect their privacy and avoid speculation. We are working closely with the authorities to investigate how the accident occurred.'

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: 'We were called by the ambulance service at 7.50pm on Saturday 3 May to support them and the fire service in responding to an incident at Millfield School, near Street.

Portugal searches in Madeleine McCann case to end
Investigators looking in to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are to conclude their latest searches after three days scouring scrubland and abandoned structures. Officers could be seen holding pitchforks as they combed an area on the outskirts of Lagos in Portugal today. Teams of German and Portuguese police officers, as well as firefighters, used pick-axes and shovels to dig some of the undergrowth. A digger was also deployed to remove rubble from one of the abandoned structures at the site. The operation comes 18 years after the three-year-old British girl disappeared from nearby Praia da Luz while on holiday with her family. The toddler vanished in 2007 after she was left sleeping while her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, went for dinner in a nearby restaurant. Personnel have spent two days focusing on one particular derelict building, using a ground-penetrating radar on the cobbled ground after clearing the area of debris and vegetation using a digger and chainsaws. British officers have not been present at the latest searches, London's Metropolitan Police said. Madeleine's parents are not commenting during the "active police investigation", staff at the Find Madeleine Campaign said. German authorities requested the search as part of their continued attempts to source evidence to implicate prime suspect Christian Brueckner, who is in prison for raping a 72-year-old woman in Praia da Luz in 2005. He is due to be released from jail in September if no further charges are brought. Last October, Brueckner was cleared by a German court of unrelated sexual offences, alleged to have taken place in Portugal between 2000 and 2017. In 2023, investigators carried out searches near the Barragem do Arade reservoir, about 50km from Praia da Luz.

A SECURITY scare was sparked off when a drug-crazed intruder broke into Windsor Castle. The man is said to have clambered over a wall to get into the grounds of the castle on Sunday lunchtime. Pistorius hit Reeva, 29, with four bullets fired through the locked door of their bathroom in the early hours of Valentine's Day 2013.
