Netanyahu admits heavy losses from Iranian strikes, vows continued nuclear targeting
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted Wednesday that Israel is suffering considerable and grievous damage due to Iranian attacks.
In a televised address this evening, Netanyahu stated, 'We are enduring heavy casualties, but our home front is strong, and we will target everything related to Iran's nuclear program.' He added, 'Israel is stronger than ever, and I thank US President Donald Trump for his support.'
Netanyahu clarified that Israel initiated its military action to neutralize Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile threats, claiming their Air Force dominates the skies above Tehran. He further detailed, 'We have embarked on this operation to remove the nuclear threat and the ballistic missile threat. We are striking nuclear weapons, missiles, headquarters, and symbols of the regime.'
Addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Prime Minister affirmed, 'At the same time, fierce fighting continues in the Gaza Strip. We remain committed to achieving both missions: defeating Hamas and ensuring the return of all our captives—both living and deceased.'

In his call with the French foreign minister, Minister Abdelatty emphasized that exerting concerted regional and international efforts to de-escalate the situation in the region is a must to avoid expanding the conflict. He warned of the extremely dangerous repercussions for the security and stability of the region if the military escalation continues, emphasizing that there is no alternative to political and diplomatic solutions to de-escalate the situation, achieve a ceasefire, and resume negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. As for the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, Minister Abdelatty highlighted the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He stressed the importance of consolidating efforts to resume the ceasefire, reviewing the role played by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States in this context. He also emphasized the importance of alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians, ensuring the provision of humanitarian aid, and working to find a political horizon for the Palestinian cause through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the two-state solution. He expressed hope that European countries would recognize the Palestinian state, considering it a key pillar for achieving peace, security, and stability in the Middle East. Meanwhile, during his call with the British national security advisor, Minister Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's efforts to de-escalate the situation, underscoring the need to contain the military escalation between Israel and Iran. He pointed out the responsibility of the E3 group (the UK, France, and Germany) to open channels for dialogue and negotiation with the Iranian side to reach compromises that contribute to de-escalation. The French and British officials commended Egypt's efforts to halt the current escalation in the region and lauded its constructive efforts on the Palestinian issue. They agreed to continue to coordinate to avoid escalation in the region and utilize available diplomatic channels to de-escalate the situation. Since June 13, 2025, Iran and Israel have exchanged the launch of missiles and drones, killing dozens and injuring hundreds in both countries, besides bombing vital nuclear and scientific facilities. Iran said that most of the killed people are women and children, in addition to several nuclear scientists and military leaders.

Israeli army says struck inactive nuclear reactor in Iran's Arak - Region
The Israeli army said Thursday it had struck an "inactive nuclear reactor" in Arak in Iran during overnight raids that also saw the Islamic republic's Natanz nuclear site targeted again. A statement said "the nuclear reactor in the area of Arak in Iran was targeted, including the structure of the reactor's core seal, which is a key component in plutonium production". It claimed the strike on the site was carried out "to prevent the reactor from being restored and used for nuclear weapons development". "Additionally, the (Israeli air force) struck a nuclear weapons development site in the area of Natanz," the statement added, saying that around 40 Israeli airforce jets had taken part in the overnight raids that saw "dozens" of sites hit. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said that Israeli forces had destroyed the principal uranium enrichment facility at the Natanz site. The UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported Tuesday that there appeared to have been "direct impacts" on the underground part of the facility. Work on the Arak heavy-water research reactor on the outskirts of the village of Khondab began in the 2000s, but was halted under the terms of a now-abandoned 2015 nuclear deal struck between Iran and world powers. Iran had informed the IAEA about its plans to commission the reactor by 2026. Putin says Iran-Israel deal that suits both sides is possible - Region
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that a deal to end the fighting between Israel and Iran was possible, and that Israel's strikes on Iran had led to a "consolidation" of Iranian society around its leadership. "We see that today in Iran there is a consolidation of society around the country's political leadership," Putin told foreign journalists, including AFP, at a televised event. "This is a delicate issue, and of course, we need to be very careful here, but in my opinion, a solution can be found," he added. Putin said such an agreement could guarantee both Israel's security and Iran's desire for a civilian nuclear programme. He added that he did "not even wish to discuss" the idea Israel might assassinate Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. "I believe it would be good for all of us together to look for ways to stop the fighting and seek ways for the participants in the conflict to find an agreement," he said. Putin said there were more than 200 Russian employees at the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran which was built by Russia's Rosatom. "We agreed with the leadership of Israel that their security would be ensured," he said. He said Russia could "continue" to work with Iran on its civilian nuclear programme and "ensure their interests in this sphere". US President Donald Trump on Wednesday appeared to rebuff Putin's earlier offer to mediate in the conflict, saying the Russian president should end his conflict in Ukraine first. "I spoke to him yesterday and... he offered to help mediate, I said 'do me a favour, mediate your own,'" Trump told reporters as he unveiled a giant new flag pole at the White House. Russia has deepened military ties with Iran since Moscow launched its campaign in Ukraine in 2022, and in January, they inked a far-ranging strategic partnership agreement. Kyiv and its allies have long accused Iran of supplying Russia with drones and short-range missiles, but Putin said at his press event that Iran hadn't asked for military help since Israel's assault.
