Florida led 3-1 at one point in the game before the Oilers came storming back to tie the game. The Panthers have normally been excellent in holding leads, but in this instance, they let their guard down.
However, nobody on the Panthers seems overly concerned with the late-game meltdown. Florida head coach Paul Maurice weighed in on the loss after the fact.
'These games are tight,' Maurice said. 'I don't think that you have domination of the third period in tight games. We were in pretty good shape in 3-1. I think we had some real good pressure. They get it back and then, there were some plays we didn't complete. Not really particularly worried about those."

Maurice additionally said that this series has the potential to be a seven-game one if the contests are this close.

'It [has] potential to be just a spectacular seven-gamer,' Maurice said.
These two teams played in an epic seven-game series last year, with Florida coming out on top. But this season, Edmonton owns home-ice advantage, potentially giving them a slight edge.
If this series were to go seven games once again, fans would be in for a treat. These are the two best teams in hockey right now, and each matchup seems to be electric.
Game 2 between the two sides is scheduled for Friday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET.

Blue Jays Receive Major Daulton Varsho News

Blue Jays Receive Major Daulton Varsho News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Toronto Blue Jays are riding a wave of momentum, having secured their fifth consecutive victory with a 6-4 comeback win over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night. This impressive stretch has improved their record to 34-29, placing them third in the AL East. The team's resurgence is largely attributed to a revitalized offense, with key contributions from players like George Springer and Addison Barger, who both homered in the recent game. Advertisement The Blue Jays aim to extend their winning streak in the second game of the series against the Twins on Saturday. Kevin Gausman (5-4, 3.82 ERA) is set to take the mound for Toronto, facing off against Minnesota's Chris Paddack (2-5, 3.58 ERA). The Twins, also holding a 34-29 record, will be looking to rebound and maintain their position in the AL Central. Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Daulton Varsho (5)© John E. Sokolowski-Imagn Images Amid this successful run, the Blue Jays have been managing without key outfielder Daulton Varsho, who was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a Grade 1 left hamstring strain. Varsho sustained the injury while attempting to stretch a hit into a triple during a game against the Athletics. Despite this setback, there is positive news: Varsho has begun baseball activities at the team's complex in Dunedin, Florida. He is currently hitting in the batting cages and playing catch, though he has not yet resumed running. While there is no definitive timeline for Varsho's return, his progress is encouraging. His return would bolster the Blue Jays' lineup, as he is tied with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer for the team lead with eight home runs, despite playing in only 24 of the team's 58 games this season. As Toronto continues its push in the standings, getting Varsho back to full strength could be a significant boost for the team's aspirations. Ryan Fox wins Canadian Open playoff. Joaquin Niemann has 4th LIV Golf victory of the season

CALEDON, Ontario — Ryan Fox of New Zealand won for the second time in five weeks on the PGA Tour with another memorable shot in a playoff, this time a 3-wood to 7 feet on the fourth extra hole Sunday to beat Sam Burns in the RBC Canadian Open. Fox won the Myrtle Beach Classic last month by chipping in for birdie to win a three-man playoff. This one on the TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley took a little longer.
