His vehicle became airborne, moving laterally before inverting into a single rotation and colliding with the barriers.
He emerged unscathed, but officials suspended the session with a red flag as he exited his vehicle and walked away.
Tsunoda was travelling at approximately 240kph when he departed the track, serving as a sobering reminder of the circuit's unforgiving characteristics, where champions Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger lost their lives in severe accidents during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
The other competitors expressed visible concern about the magnitude of the crash and immediately sought confirmation of Tsunoda's safety.
Earlier in the season, he received a promotion from the junior
Racing Bulls
team to the Red Bull squad, taking over from Liam Lawson.

Yograj Singh's simple yet heavy question for Vaibhav Suryavanshi post IPL success; ‘Can you survive five days?'

Former India cricketer Yograj Singh has put forward a simple yet heavy question to Indian Premier League (IPL) sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi of whether the 14-year-old survive five days of Test cricket in an era of T20s. The teenager from Bihar took the cricket world by storm when the Rajasthan Royals opener slammed a century against Gujarat Titans to become the youngest IPL centurion in history. Known to never mince words, Yograj praised the talent of Suryavanshi but also admitted the real greatness comes through Test cricket. 'My vision is Test cricket. Can you survive five days? That's the real test,' Yograj was quoted as saying to InsideSport. '50 overs – fair enough. 20 overs – fair enough. I don't go by these formats. But since they are there, you should be fit enough to play all three formats. Why do you struggle? Because you are only concentrating on T20, IPL and 50 overs. Aj toh 50 overs bhi nahi khel sakte hum log (We cannot even play 50 overs.) 'That's the way we are,' he added. Bought for just ₹ 1.1 crore, Suryavanshi warmed the benches for the first seven games until Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson had to sit out due to injury. The hard-hitting left hander scored a hundred in his third IPL game and ended the campaign with a fifty. In seven innings, Suryavanshi managed 252 runs at an astonishing strike rate of over 206. Following IPL 2025, Suryavanshi has reportedly scored a 190 in a practice match at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt reveals he wanted to work in an F1-like film for ‘literally decades'

Hollywood star Brad Pitt, who is stepping into the world of Formula One with his upcoming racing film F1, said that the experience while shooting for the film has been nothing short of exhilarating. Reflecting on the shoot, Brad expressed how much he enjoyed diving into the high-octane environment of F1 and emphasized how much it meant to have the backing of the sport's devoted fanbase. 'If we didn't pass their bar, then we were dead, you know? And to get that kind of, I don't know, response means a lot to us, because we have, again, so much respect for these drivers, for this sport, for everyone, the teams, everything they put into it. They made the movie too. They're a big part of the film," Brad said in an interview with Extra TV. The film, directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, will see Brad portraying a former F1 driver making a comeback. Brad, in another interview, as per said he was always confident about the film's ability to resonate with both hardcore racing fans and new viewers alike. 'I felt pretty confident in what we have. You know, I feel like we successfully thread this needle that's for longtime fans that really understand the sport as well as newcomers, and they understood that was our goal, and, I don't know, I think they had fun too. I think it's just fun. It's really good fun," Brad said, adding that he had been wanting to work in a film based on motor sports for a long time now. "For me, it was just a no-brainer when [Joseph Kosinski] had this audacious plan to embed us in the racing season, to put us actually in the cars. It was just a dream come true. I've been trying to do a racing film for literally decades,' he said. Filming included sequences shot at the iconic Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix, where Brad revealed he had the surreal experience of stepping onto the track in front of thousands of spectators. 'We had been, like, rehearsing there for a few weeks, so it kind of felt like it was home," he said. "But then when the whole race movement comes in it's such a juggernaut of a machine. It is really awe-inspiring, and then to get on the track with 100,000 fans, I was a little bit nervous. Actually, no, it was a high. Like, sitting waiting it was, once you get going, it's a high. It's a high,' said the 61-year-old actor. Despite boasting of a decades-long career filled with hits such as Ocean's Eleven, Troy, and The Fight Club, Brad shared that working on this F1 project has brought a fresh sense of energy and purpose. 'Doing this this long and to find something that was almost like starting over, it was so full of passion and it gave me a feeling like I've never had before. It was just sublime. I'm pretty grateful for Joe Kosinski for coming up with this,' he said.

Elon Musk has a warning for EU over Tesla self-driving delays: ‘Very frustrating, hurts safety of…'

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has called on European regulators to fast-track approval of the company's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, stating that delays are compromising road safety. 'Waiting for Dutch authorities and then the EU to approve. Very frustrating and hurts the safety of people in Europe, as driving with advanced Autopilot on results in four times fewer injuries!,' Musk wrote on X, quoting a post by X user Alexander Kristensen. In the post, Kristensen expressed frustration that European Teslas are restricted from performing even basic autonomous tasks, such as changing lanes, without driver input — unlike their American counterparts. He wrote: 'It's ridiculous how they have Robotaxis in Austin without ANY driver, yet my Tesla here in Sweden is not even allowed to change lanes on the highway without me confirming with the turn signal'. Quoting the post, Musk further said, 'Please ask your governing authorities to accelerate making Tesla safer in Europe.' His appeal comes just days before Tesla's Robotaxi service is set to debut in Austin, Texas, on June 22. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo Musk's remarks highlight the regulatory divide between the US and Europe when it comes to autonomous driving. Tesla has already ramped up its testing of Unsupervised FSD in Austin, moving ahead of schedule to prepare for the upcoming Robotaxi rollout. The push for European approval also follows Tesla's recent trademark filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the term 'Tesla Robotaxi,' after earlier attempts were rejected for being too generic. This is not the first time Musk has pressed for uniform autonomous vehicle laws. He has previously advocated for federal-level regulation in the US, arguing that the current patchwork of state rules is inefficient and slows innovation.
