Him Science Congress Association
organised here.
Asserting that the true purpose of scientific research should be the welfare of humanity and not its destruction, Shukla remarked that science and technology must align with local traditions,
indigenous wisdom
, and nature to be truly meaningful.
"As we enter a new era of technology, it is crucial to link our rich heritage of knowledge with modern innovation. Conferences like this were a step in that direction," he said in a statement.
He also noted that India can play a decisive role in global well-being if the younger generation is inspired to research and value national legacy.

New Delhi, June 15 (PTI) A solar-powered water lift system has emerged as a lifeline for the cheetah cubs born in Kuno National Park this summer, helping them survive extremely hot and harsh conditions. Learning from that experience, authorities have installed a solar-powered system to pump water from the Kuno river and transport it through an 8.6-km-long pipeline to sprinklers and water saucers at more than 15 locations inside the park. 'Lifting water from Kuno river, taking it kilometres away, using sprinklers extensively to create green spaces, and improving water availability, especially for mother and new-born cubs in a planned way, have proved quite successful,' according to video posted on X by Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Cheetah Project Director, Uttam Kumar Sharma. 'The importance of water is felt only in its absence and it is nowhere as pronounced as in Kuno during peak summer… Under the incessant pummelling of hot winds called 'loo' and temperatures bordering 48 degrees Celsius, life becomes very difficult for wildlife, particularly the young ones,' it said. South African cheetah Veera gave birth to two cubs in February 2025, while another South African cheetah, Nirva, gave birth to five cubs in April. Two of Nirva's cubs died, but officials said the rest are doing well. The officials said the cubs were experiencing such harsh conditions for the first time and both the mothers and their offspring were regularly using the water points, indicating the success of the initiative. Launched in September 2022, 70 years after the species was declared extinct in the country, India's cheetah reintroduction project is among the most ambitious conservation efforts in recent history. As part of the project, 20 African cheetahs were brought to Kuno: eight from Namibia in September 2022 and 12 from South Africa in February 2023. Since then, 26 cheetah cubs have been born in India. New York/San Francisco, Jun 15 (PTI) America has not done immigration policies well, JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon said, voicing support for merit-based immigration. 'America is indispensable. It's not indispensable because we're better. It's indispensable because (we have) the best military in the world, the most prosperous nation in the world, the best economy in the world, the best technology, the roots of that technology, the freedoms we have. It's what brought people here,' Dimon said. His remarks came during a conversation with Databricks CEO and Co-founder Ali Ghodsi at the Data AI Summit 2025 in San Francisco last week. Dimon added that "America's role is indispensable. That role is economic, it's military, it's education, it's allowing people to come here, want to stay here, like more merit-based, which we should be doing. That's the most important thing." He recalled that his grandparents were Greek immigrants who never went to high school. Dimon said he has a list of policies that America didn't do well. ISRO successfully carries out first rocket launch test with satellite in UP's Kushinagar; details here
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully conducted a rocket launching test in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar on Saturday, June 14. This marks a historic moment for the state as it was the first time a payload was launched through a rocket from the state, officials informed PTI. "The rocket was launched at 5:14 PM and 33 seconds, which went up to a height of 1.1 km. After this, a small satellite (payload) came out. As soon as it fell down to 5 metres, its parachute activated and the satellite landed within 400 metres on the ground." PTI quoted ISRO scientist Abhishek Singh as saying. The test was carried out in collaboration with Thrust Tech India Limited. During rocket launch test, the spacecraft ascended 1.1 km at 5:14:33 PM before setting off the satellite, marking a complete success. It is important to note that both the satellite and the 15 kg rocket descended safely. The latest rocket launch test is in many ways different from previous tests conducted in Ahmedabad using drones, since this was the first time a satellite was directly launched using rocket in UP, proving entirely successful, ISRO scientist said. This test sets the stage for future satellite tests scheduled for October-November, where nearly und 900 youth-built satellites will be tested. Director of Thrust Tech India Vinod Kumar confirmed the company's motor test success and said, 'This event is being organised to generate interest in space technology among children across the region and the whole of India.' The space agency dropped latest update on the long-postponed Axiom-4 commercial mission to the International Space Station and in a post on X stated, 'Observations on Falcon-9 LOX leak have been resolved by @SpaceX @Axiom_Space is coordinating with @NASA on the ISS Zvezda module anomaly. The earliest possible launch date for #Ax4 is being worked out.' This upcoming space mission is notable as it includes Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla among its four crew members. According to an official release by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday, a follow-on coordination meeting was held between ISRO, Axiom Space, and SpaceX, where it was confirmed that the issue of liquid oxygen leak observed in the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was successfully resolved.
