Fadnavis inaugurates Maharashtra Cyber's AI chatbot and awareness film
Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday inaugurated Maharashtra Cyber's AI-based chatbot and a public awareness short film. These citizen-centric initiatives aim to spread awareness and provide prompt guidance to citizens to prevent cyber fraud, crimes, and human trafficking.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Additional Director General of Police (Cyber) Yashasvi Yadav, DIG Sanjay Shintre, Superintendent of Police Hemrajsingh Rajput, actors Sharad Kelkar and Ameesha Patel, and OSD to the Chief Minister Kaustubh Dhavse.
A short awareness film on cybersecurity, featuring actors Sharad Kelkar and Ameesha Patel, was showcased in both Marathi and Hindi languages. The film educates citizens on various forms of cybercrime and fraud. The newly launched AI-based chatbot, integrated with Maharashtra Cyber's 1945 helpline, was also presented. It provides users with information on different types of cybercrime and how to file complaints, the government said in a statement.
CM Fadnavis remarked, 'People are receiving increasing numbers of cyber fraud calls, and it is crucial to respond to them with caution. This chatbot and awareness film will prove vital in providing timely information to the public. Raising awareness is key to preventing crimes before they occur.'
He also emphasised the need for greater public awareness to prevent human trafficking, particularly cases where individuals are taken abroad under the pretext of jobs and sold into exploitation.
A youth rescued by Maharashtra Cyber from forced labour in Myanmar and Laos shared his harrowing experience during the event and expressed deep gratitude to the authorities for saving his life. Maharashtra Cyber had recently rescued 64 victims and arrested five agents involved in trafficking, said the government in the statement.
Actor Sharad Kelkar said, 'It is essential to spread awareness about cyber safety. I'm proud to be part of this campaign, which will help reach a wide audience.'
Actress Ameesha Patel added, 'In this digital age, it is important to curb rising cybercrime, and public awareness is key.'
Kaustubh Dhavse gave an overview of Maharashtra Cyber's various initiatives, while ADG Yadav highlighted the ongoing awareness campaign.

Two children succumb during treatment after CNG cylinder blast: Delhi Police
ANI 01 Jun 2025, 15:42 GMT+10 New Delhi [India], June 1 (ANI): Two of the three minor siblings injured in a CNG cylinder explosion at a warehouse in northeast Delhi's Sunder Nagri succumbed to their injuries during the treatment, said Delhi Police on Sunday. According to the Police, two minors died during the treatment in a Sunder Nagri CNG cylinder blast case. The incident occurred on Saturday evening around 4:33 PM in the K-Block area of Sunder Nagri, where a blast took place inside a godown used for storing and repairing old CNG cylinders. A police team rushed to the spot and found that the blast had occurred during the repair of an old CNG cylinder. The explosion's force caused the godown's iron gate to break off. In the incident, three children--aged 4, 7, and 9--who were playing outside the premises at the time, sustained injuries. A 25-year-old worker inside the godown, identified as Arshad, was also injured in the explosion. He is currently undergoing treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. The godown was reportedly being used for the storage and repair of old CNG cylinders. Teams from the Crime Branch and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) are inspecting the scene to ascertain the exact cause and sequence of the blast. Further investigation into the matter is underway. New Delhi [India], June 1 (ANI): Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Sunday urged for the release of 22-year-old influencer Sharmishta Panoli, who was remanded to judicial custody by a court in Kolkata, a day after West Bengal Police arrested her from her Gurugram in Haryana. 'Harassing someone in the name of law and order is not good. When someone has apologised and deleted the post, but putting her in prison, torturing her, ending her career and raising questions on her character is very wrong. This should not happen with any daughter,' Kangana told ANI. Further, she said, 'I urge the West Bengal government not to try to make the state into North Korea. Everyone has democratic rights. She has apologised for her indecent remarks. She had said everything in general and today's generation uses such language very normally- both in English and in Hindi. She should be released soon because she is a very young woman. She has her whole career and life ahead of her...' North Korea is ruled by a dictator Kim Jong Un. Kolkata Police arrested Panoli from Haryana's Gurugram on Friday night. She is a law student in Pune, Maharashtra. On Saturday, Panoli was produced before the Alipore Court in Kolkata, which remanded her in judicial custody for 14 days. According to the Kolkata Police, several attempts were made to serve legal notices to Panoli and her family, but the attempts were unsuccessful because Panoli and her family absconded. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued by the court, based on which she was arrested from Gurugram on Friday. 'The case relates to an Instagram video by a lady named Sharmishta Panoli that hurt the religious sentiments of a particular community. FIR was lodged in Garden Reach Police Station. Attempts to serve notice as per law couldn't be successful since the accused, with her family absconded. Subsequently, warrant of arrest was issued by the court of law, based on which she was arrested from Gurgaon yesterday,' as per the Kolkata Police. However, Panoli had deleted the video and issued an apology on May 15. (ANI)

"Hum honge kaamyaab": Salman Khurshid highlights India's unified stance against terrorism in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia], June 1 (ANI): Congress leader Salman Khurshid, part of the JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha-led delegation, on Sunday highlighted India's unified stance against terrorism, underscoring the need for a collective global response to combat terrorism, promoting peace and prosperity worldwide. 'With one voice India is saying, 'Terrorism no more.'... We hope to create a collective rise against terrorism to make the globe peaceful and prosperous... We can confidently say, 'Hum honge kaamyaab',' he said. Notably, 'I'll Overcome Someday' was a hymn or gospel music composition by the Reverend Charles Albert Tindley of Philadelphia that was first published in 1901. In India, the renowned poet Girija Kumar Mathur composed a literal translation in Hindi 'Hum Honge Kaamyab' which became a popular patriotic/spiritual song during the 1970s and 1980s, particularly in schools. Khurshid said that India's all-party delegation shows diversity, as well as unity, because of the way they unequivocally condemn terrorism despite being from different parties. 'The message we come with. It is a message of unity. We are from several parties. We are from several regions of India. We are from several religions of India.
