Beatport, the world's largest electronic music platform, is bringing their famous live events for the first to the Egyptian capital at Cairo Jazz Club 610 on February 20th.
Beatport has become one of the most popular online music stores, catering specifically to electronic dance music and its diverse range of genres. Their events have served as a launchpad for DJs and producers to showcase and sell their music to global audiences.
Brought by events giant Kord, the party will be headlined by Parisian electronic act Acid Arab, known for their wholly unique productions, mixing oriental music from the North Africa and Middle East region with acid house and techno. Their releases feature integral contributions from the likes of legendary Syrian artist Omar Souleyman, and Jordanian percussionist Shadi Khries. They will be joined by Cairo's house maestro Misty, Aly Goede and Jess, known for their funky wicked grooves.

Russia's Kostroma Forges Stronger Cultural Ties with Egypt

He highlighted several collaborative activities, including a workshop with students from the Higher Institute of Ballet at the Egyptian Academy of Arts, as well as a joint rehearsal with Egypt's iconic Reda Folklore Ensemble that featured both Egyptian and Russian folk dance traditions. A press conference held at the Russian Embassy in Cairo brought together key cultural figures from both nations. Among the attendees were Russian Ambassador Georgy Borisenko; Yelena Tsarenko, Producer and Director of the Kostroma Ensemble; Khaled Galal, Head of Egypt's Cultural Production Sector; Hesham Gamal, Vice President of the Egyptian Academy of Arts; Enas Abdel Aziz, Director of the Reda Ensemble; and Maria Vishkina, Director of the College of Dance. Ambassador Borisenko remarked on the growing momentum of cultural exchange between Russia and Egypt, describing it as a 'rich and productive period of artistic cooperation.' Galal emphasized the significance of Kostroma's visit, calling it a reflection of the depth of bilateral relations and the shared commitment to cultural collaboration. Elena Tsarenko explained that the ensemble's tour is part of a wider initiative sponsored by the Russian Presidential Fund, aimed at deepening cultural ties with partner countries. The program launched this year in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and China, and is set to expand to Brazil, India, Ethiopia, and South Africa in 2026. It encompasses artistic workshops, joint performances, and cultural exchanges that encourage dialogue and understanding between nations. The ensemble's visit will culminate in a joint performance with the Reda Troupe, scheduled as part of the upcoming celebrations for Russian National Day. Egyptian Icon Hakim to Headline Oslo World Music Festival in October
Hakim returns to Norway to lead the opening night of the 22nd edition of the Oslo World Music Festival. Jun 11, 2025 Egyptian singer Hakim will headline the opening concert of this year's Oslo World Music Festival, returning to the Norwegian capital for the fourth time. Scheduled for Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, the concert—titled 'Hakim – The Lion of Egypt'—will take place at the Oslo Konserthus, starting at 19:30 local time. Blending traditional shaabi with global influences, Hakim has long been recognised for bringing Egyptian popular music to international stages. His Oslo performance will feature well-known tracks including 'Not One, Not a Hundred' and 'Tonight Is Your Night', with a setlist aimed at both long-time fans and new audiences. Now in its 22nd edition, the Oslo World Music Festival spans 14 venues across the city and features artists working across African jazz, samba, electronica, hip-hop, and other global genres. Hakim's participation reflects the festival's continued commitment to showcasing regional voices within a global programme. Hakim previously performed in Oslo during the Nobel Peace Prize celebrations in 2006, alongside other international concerts.
