Pag-IBIG Fund offers cash prizes to MPL borrowers, company representatives in new promos for 2025
Pag-IBIG Fund has launched two new raffle promos aimed at increasing members' awareness of the benefits and favorable terms of the Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan (Pag-IBIG MPL), while encouraging greater employer engagement — further strengthening its efforts to provide timely financial support to members nationwide.
As part of its initiatives to assist more Filipino workers in addressing their immediate financial needs through the Pag-IBIG MPL, the agency introduced the 'Loan to Win!' and 'Hatid Pana-Loan!' raffle promos, which offer cash prizes as additional incentives for borrowers and employer representatives.
'In 2024 alone, our Pag-IBIG MPL program assisted more than 3 million members with over ₱70 billion in cash loans. This highlights the Pag-IBIG MPL's role as a dependable source of financial assistance for Filipino workers in times of need,' said Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar, head of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and chairperson of the 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees. 'In line with President Marcos' directive to provide accessible and affordable financial services to our citizens, we are launching these promos to assist even more members while recognizing the efforts of employer representatives who actively support their employees' loan applications,' Acuzar added.
Running from April to December 2025, the 'Loan to Win!' raffle promo gives Pag-IBIG members with an approved Pag-IBIG MPL a chance to win cash prizes. Each approved loan during the promo period automatically earns one raffle entry, with bonus entries awarded to first-time Pag-IBIG MPL borrowers, applications submitted via Virtual Pag-IBIG for Employers, or loans worth ₱50,000 or more. Over 250 winners will be selected in preliminary draws, leading up to a grand prize of ₱50,000.
Meanwhile, the 'Hatid Pana-Loan!' raffle promo rewards Fund Coordinators and Employer Representatives who actively help employees secure a Pag-IBIG MPL. Employer representatives earn one raffle entry for every five approved Pag-IBIG MPL applications they facilitate, with additional entries awarded for applications from first-time borrowers or those submitted via Virtual Pag-IBIG for Employers. Winners in this promo also stand a chance to receive cash prizes, including a grand prize of ₱50,000.
Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta expressed confidence that the raffle promos will help even more members benefit from the Pag-IBIG MPL, especially by making them more aware of the program's affordability and friendly payment terms.
'Through these raffle promos, we hope to empower our Fund Coordinators, Employer Representatives, and especially our members by highlighting the affordability and convenience offered by the Pag-IBIG MPL,' Acosta said.
'More than just rewards, these initiatives emphasize that the Pag-IBIG MPL is a practical and reliable financial lifeline that benefits members directly. Every loan availed generates earnings for Pag-IBIG Fund, contributing to higher dividends for our members. Simply put, when members borrow from Pag-IBIG Fund, their repayments ultimately benefit them through dividends,' she added.

DMW Secretary meets OFWs affected by the Al Barsha fire
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac personally met with Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) affected by the recent fire in Al Barsha 1 during the third batch of emergency assistance held on 31 May 2025 at the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai. Secretary Cacdac expressed his deep empathy for the victims and inquired about their current condition and needs following the tragic incident. He noted that most of the OFWs residing in the affected building were living in shared accommodations, often referred to as 'partitions,' which offer more affordable housing. During the gathering, Secretary Cacdac also announced that financial assistance will not only be provided to the affected OFWs in Dubai but also extended to their families in the Philippines. This move aims to help ease the economic burden on families who have been impacted by the unfortunate event. Tragically, two OFWs lost their lives during the fire. The remains of one of the deceased were successfully repatriated on 26 May 2025 through the AKSYON Fund. The repatriation of the second casualty will be facilitated by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), with assistance from MWO Dubai for all necessary documentation and coordination with the bereaved family. DMW will likewise extend assistance to the NOK of the fatalities. In addition, the Secretary met with five (5) OFWs who were injured during the explosion and were rushed to Rashid Hospital then transferred to Jebel Ali Hospital. Most of the injuries were minor, and the victims have since been discharged. These individuals were also among the recipients of emergency assistance during the third distribution. The third batch of emergency assistance benefited 145 OFWs, bringing the total number of assisted individuals to 484. This follows the 198 OFWs served during the first batch and 141 during the second. All assistance was made possible through the AKSYON Fund, the DMW's dedicated financial aid program for distressed migrant workers. The Al Barsha fire, which occurred on 13 May 2025, affected hundreds of Filipino residents, prompting a swift and coordinated response from the DMW, through MWO Dubai. The Department continues to work closely with UAE authorities and local partners to ensure that all affected OFWs receive the support necessary to recover and rebuild their lives.

Pag-IBIG Fund maintains low housing loan rates through end of 2025
Pag-IBIG Fund announced that it is maintaining its low interest rates on housing loans until the end of 2025, continuing its efforts to make homeownership more affordable and accessible for Filipino workers. 'We are keeping our housing loan interest rates low to help more Filipino workers achieve their dream of homeownership,' said Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling, Chairperson of the 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees and Secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). 'This forms part of DHSUD's renewed direction to expand the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program, in line with the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to build a Bagong Pilipinas—where every Filipino has access to safe, affordable, and resilient communities. By keeping rates low, we make monthly amortizations more affordable, enabling more of our members—especially those who are minimum-wage earners and from low-income sectors—to finally move into homes they can truly afford.' Under its current terms, Pag-IBIG Fund offers housing loans at interest rates as low as 5.75% per annum for a one-year repricing period, and 6.25% for a three-year repricing period. Meanwhile, qualified low-income members may avail of special rates under the agency's Affordable Housing Program to purchase socialized housing units at just 3% per annum. Members may also enjoy loan terms of up to 30 years, helping keep monthly amortizations further within reach. Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta said the agency's sound financial position makes the continued low rates possible. 'Pag-IBIG Fund's prudent fiscal management, strong collections, and high-performing loan portfolio continue to keep us financially sound, enabling us to finance our members' housing needs without external borrowing,' Acosta said. 'This allows us to maintain affordable rates and expand home financing access to more Filipino workers. As we fully support the government's housing thrust under the Marcos administration, we remain focused on helping more of our members—especially those in underserved sectors—secure homes they can call their own.' This announcement builds on Pag-IBIG Fund's strong performance in 2025. In the first quarter alone, the agency released ₱30.22 billion in home loans, benefiting over 20,000 members across the country. Additionally, Pag-IBIG Fund's total assets surpassed ₱1.1 trillion as of March 31, 2025, reflecting its robust financial standing and capacity to sustain long-term support for affordable housing finance.
