J-K: Three terrorists killed in Awantipora under Operation Nader
Awantipora (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 15 (ANI): Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Nader area of Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora, the Indian Army said on Thursday, adding that the identity of the terrorists is being ascertained.
The Chinar Corps shared a post on their official 'X' handle stating, 'Three hardcore terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing Operation at Nader, Awantipora. Identity of terrorists is being ascertained', the 'X' post read.
On the basis of special intelligence input, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Nader area of J-K's Tral in Awantipora in the morning hours of Thursday.
Suspicious activity was observed by the troops and on being challenged, the terrorists opened heavy fire on the forces and a fierce gunfight ensued.

'On 15 May 2025, based on specific intelligence input from Int agency, a Cordon & Search Operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF at Nader, Tral, Awantipora. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened heavy fire and fierce gunfight ensued. Operation is in progress', the 'X' post read.
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian forces have intensified their operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Tuesday, the Indian Army, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force, neutralised three terrorists, including the local commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba/The Resistance Front (LeT/TRF), after an encounter.
During the operation the security forces recovered AK series rifles, a large quantity of ammunition, grenades, and other war-like stores.
In a post on X, the Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) said, 'Based on inputs from intelligence agencies about the presence of terrorists in the Keller Forest of #Shopian District, Jammu & Kashmir, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @ Jmukmrpolice, and CRPF on 13 May 2025, resulting in the neutralisation of three hardcore terrorists, including the local commander of LeT/TRF, after an intense encounter.
The operation comes on the heels of India achieving stupendous success in Operation Sindoor, where precision strikes destroyed terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and eliminated nearly 100 terror operatives at key bases in Pakistan. Among the targets were Bhawalpur, the headquarters of Jaish, and Muridke, a key training base of Lashkar.
Notably, the Resistance Front (TRF) group actively involved in the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir and is designated as a terrorist organisation in India. The outfit is believed to be a part of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based UN-designated terrorist group.
The TRF has claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed. (ANI)

BSF troops foil Pakistani intruder's attempt to cross the International Border in Pathankot
On May 29, BSF troops apprehended a Pakistani intruder near the International Border in the District Pathankot. On noticing suspicious movement, the alert troops acted swiftly to apprehend him ahead of the fence, when he illegally crossed the IB (International Border). He was handed over to the Narot Jaimal Singh Police Station after preliminary questioning. In another operation on May 24, Border Security Forces (BSF) on Friday night neutralised a Pakistani intruder attempting to enter Indian territory in Banaskantha district, Gujarat. According to a statement from the security forces, the troops spotted one suspicious person advancing towards the border fence after crossing the International Border. Taking swift action, BSF challenged the intruder, but the intruder continued to advance, prompting them to open fire. The intruder was neutralised on the spot, the statement added. Security forces have been on high alert after Pakistan committed ceasefire violations by cross-border shelling following Operation Sindoor. India had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POJK). Earlier on Monday, the Border Security Force (BSF) showcased a range of weapons, including the 'Vidhwansak' anti-material rifle, which was used during Operation Sindoor to target Pakistani posts. The demonstration was held during a weapon exhibition at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Jammu. The visuals from the event showed BSF personnel demonstrating the use of the anti-material rifle (AMR), the automatic grenade launcher system, and other heavy weaponry. BSF official Rakesh Kaushik said that the Vidhvansak has a range of 1800 m and 1300 m. The barrels, bolts and magazines are changed as per the need. One magazine has three rounds. It destroys the enemy's pillboxes, bunkers and armed cars. It is made in India and destroyed all the given targets during Operation Sindoor. A BSF officer said that the medium machine gun is operated by three personnel. This was used by the BSF to counter Pakistan's attacks during Operation Sindoor. He added that Pakistan's observation outpost was destroyed using Vidhwansak. During Operation Sindoor, the BSF worked closely with the Indian Armed Forces, which successfully targeted Pakistani airbases, damaging enemy infrastructure. The two countries have reached an understanding to stop military action following a call made by Pakistan's DGMO to his Indian counterpart.

Coordinated searches at multiple locations across Kashmir as post-Pahalgam terror crackdown continues
The counter-intelligence wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday conducted searches at multiple locations across Kashmir in connection with cases linked to terrorism, police said. Officials said the operation was aimed at uncovering crucial evidence, curbing illicit activities, preventing the misuse of communication devices such as mobile phones, and dismantling the terror ecosystem in the Union Territory by identifying terrorist associates and overground workers (OGWs) allegedly supporting and abetting terrorism, and also ensuring legal action against them. Counter Intelligence Kashmir on Friday said that during the investigation, various suspects were found using a 'specific encrypted messaging application', which is widely used by 'terrorists/handlers' from across the border for 'coordinating and executing a variety of terrorist-related activities, including recruitment into terrorist ranks'. These users, police said, are suspected to be in touch with suspicious entities across the border. 'As such, maintaining the element of surprise, the searches were meticulously planned and conducted,' officials said. During raids, 'incriminating material' in the form of SIM cards, mobile phones, tablets and other digital devices that have a bearing on the case have been recovered. Analysis of the data will follow and leads that may emerge will become the basis for further investigation, a CIK official said. However, no arrests were made on Friday. The searches come as security agencies step up anti-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir in the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack in south Kashmir's Pahalgam. In the attack, 25 tourists and one local man were shot dead. In response, the armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This was followed by days of cross-border tensions and shelling, in which several civilians living in border areas in J&K lost their lives.
