'PoK Power Plant Damaged': India Shreds Pakistan's 'BLATANT LIE' Amid Intense Clashes
India has forcefully rebutted Pakistan's claim that it attacked a civilian hydropower plant in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, calling it a 'complete fabrication.' In a sharp warning, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri declared that any attempt to use this false narrative to justify retaliation would invite serious consequences, with Pakistan held 'solely responsible'. The statement comes after Islamabad alleged damage to the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Plant, a claim further muddied by AFP video footage showing minor wall damage, but no significant infrastructure destruction. India issued a stern warning, signaling that its targets remain strictly militant in nature, not civilian.#neelumjhelumhydropowerplant #india #pakistan #war #operationsindoor #pmmodi #loc

Gaza-bound aid boat Madleen carrying Greta Thunberg reaches Israeli port

ISRAEL: A Gaza-bound aid boat reached Israel's Ashdod port on Monday after being intercepted by Israeli forces, preventing the dozen activists on board including Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg from reaching the blockaded Palestinian territory. An AFP photographer said that the Madleen, which organisers said was intercepted in international waters overnight, reached the port north of Gaza at around 8:45 pm (1745 GMT), escorted by the Israeli navy. The Madleen set sail from Italy on June 1 to raise awareness of food shortages in the Gaza Strip, which the United Nations has called the "hungriest place on Earth". At around 4:02 am (0102 GMT) on Monday, Israeli troops "forcibly intercepted" the vessel as it approached Gaza, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition said. "If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped," Thunberg said in pre-recorded footage shared by the coalition. Video from the group shows the activists with their hands up as Israeli forces boarded the vessel, with one of them saying nobody was injured prior to the interception. Israel's foreign ministry, in a post on social media, said "all the passengers of the 'selfie yacht' are safe and unharmed", adding it expected the activists to return to their home countries. Turkey condemned the interception as a "heinous attack" and Iran denounced it as "a form of piracy" in international waters. In May, another Freedom Flotilla ship, the Conscience, reported it was struck by drones in an attack the group blamed on Israel. In 2010, an Israeli commando raid on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara, which was part of a similar attempt to breach the naval blockade, left 10 civilians dead. On Sunday, Defence Minister Israel Katz said the blockade, in place for years before the Israel-Hamas war, was needed to prevent Palestinian militants from importing weapons.

"Pakistan supports terrorism despite poverty, starvation, unemployment": Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday strongly condemned Pakistan for 'sponsoring terrorism,' despite grappling with severe domestic challenges such as poverty, starvation, and unemployment. In an interview with ANI, Gadkari reiterated India's firm stance against terrorism, citing Operation Sindoor as a 'decisive response' to the Pakistan-sponsored April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that killed 26 innocent people in the name of religion. 'We are against terrorism. Operation Sindoor was our reaction to the killing of the innocent people. Pakistan sponsors terrorism. There is poverty, starvation and unemployment in Pakistan; still they support terrorism and enter our country and kill innocent people. Then our answer will have to be Operation Sindoor,' the Union Minister said. Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. Gadkari also elaborated on the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty following the April 22 attack, stating that the decision was made because of Pakistan's involvement in the terror activities. 'When partition happened, out of the six rivers that flow through the region, three were in Pakistan and three in India... Our share of the water also goes to Pakistan, and we can use that water for the regions of Punjab and Rajasthan. When we were giving water to Pakistan, they killed our people. That's why our government stopped the water... If Pakistan stops these terrorist activities, we will also stop,' he explained. The suspension of the Indus Water Treaty between the two nations was announced on April 23 following the attack and was part of one of the diplomatic moves by India against Pakistan for their involvement in terror activities. Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs reiterated that the treaty will remain in abeyance until 'Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support for cross-border terrorism.' (ANI)

Russia says aims to boost military ties in Africa after Wagner exits Mali

Moscow wants to enhance its military ties in Africa, the Kremlin said Monday (June 9, 2025), after reports that the Russian paramilitary group Wagner was leaving Mali. Diplomatic and security sources told AFP on Sunday (June 8, 2025) that Wagner, Russia's best-known mercenary group, was no longer present in Mali and its units there have been taken over by the Africa Corps, overseen by Moscow's Defence Ministry. Mali, ruled by a junta that seized power in coups in 2020 and 2021, has never officially admitted Wagner's presence, insisting it only worked with Russian instructors. 'We intend to comprehensively develop our cooperation with African countries,' Kremlin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday (June 9, 2025) when asked about Wagner's departure. 'This cooperation also extends to such sensitive areas as defence and security. In this respect, Russia will also continue to interact and cooperate with African states,' Mr. Peskov said. He did not explicitly comment on Wagner's withdrawal or reports they had been replaced by the African Corps. Mali's ruling junta has broken off ties with former colonial power France and pivoted towards Russia for political and military support. The Wagner group was disbanded and restructured after its leader Yevgeny Prigozhin died in a mysterious plane crash in August 2023 following a short-lived mutiny against Moscow. The Africa Corps is seen as its successor and like Wagner, is actively supporting several African governments.
