Shane Lowry returns to site of US Open heartbreak determined to put it behind him

New York Posta day ago

OAKMONT, Pa. — Shane Lowry is hungry.
Actually starved.

The 38-year-old Irishman has a score to settle in this week's U.S. Open at Oakmont, where he let a four-shot, final-round lead slip through his hands in 2016, the last time the tournament was played at the venerable course that's hosting its record 10th U.S. Open.
'I know what it tastes like,'' Lowry said after finishing a nine-hole practice round with his friend Rory McIlroy on Tuesday. 'And you just want it again and again.''
