‘Doctor Who' frontman Ncuti Gatwa rules time and space in style
Trust him, he's a doctor.
Ncuti Gatwa is a man of many faces. One of a handful of breakout stars from Netflix's 'Sex Education' — who also count 'White Lotus' fan favorite Aimee Lou Wood among their ranks — the Rwandan-Scottish actor went on to appear in Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' before taking up the mantle of what is perhaps the BBC's most iconic role, becoming the Fifteenth Doctor in 'Doctor Who.'
After two seasons, Gatwa's time in the TARDIS has apparently come to an end. But allow us to use this opportunity to point out just how much he's been dominating the red carpet — in addition to dominating space and time.

Collaborating with stylist Felicity Kay — whose other clients include Lou Wood herself, and the ever-dashing 'Gladiator II' star Paul Mescal — Gatwa has demonstrated an aptitude for making the styles of iconic fashion houses look completely his own. Take this Prada set for the British Vogue x GQ BAFTA Fashion & Film Party in February, which in Gatwa's hands transforms from a classic, buttoned-up style to a perfect pairing with Tiffany & Co. bling. Shortly afterwards, Gatwa made an appearance at British fashion house Burberry's winter 2025 show, keeping it cool in a leather jacket and trousers with a peek-a-boo zipper detail.

And if you felt tremors in the ground the week of March 24, that was Gatwa landing in New York before pulling out a succession of incredible looks while promoting 'Doctor Who.' The actor appeared on 'Good Morning America' in impeccable Prada and wore a playful denim set from designer Simone Rocha the same day. He then stepped out in canary yellow trousers from Etro, and concluded a busy couple of days in show-stopping, velvet Valentino with a ruff collar for an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.'
No round-up would be complete without mentioning Gatwa's custom togs for the 2025 Met Gala: a rich purple suit courtesy of British-Ghanaian tailor extraordinaire Ozwald Boateng. And while we have your attention, we might as well mention that we loved the actor's third Prada look in recent history, this one a bright white camisole and pants, with an effortlessly draped denim jacket overtop.

The King has been joined by a host of stars to celebrate the achievements of young talent and senior figures recognised by his foundation. Charles met David Beckham, Stanley Tucci and Penny Lancaster, all King's Foundation ambassadors, alongside friends of the charitable body, Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep, at the St James's Palace awards ceremony. Prizes including Young Entrepreneur and Advocate of the Year were presented by the celebrities including the King Charles III Harmony Award, recognising a long-term commitment to the foundation's mission of creating a world where people, places and the planet can live in harmony. Charles met his foundation's famous supporters and award winners before touring stands showcasing the charity's work, and Winslet smiled as she told him: 'Don't worry, I'll be all in – I've got your back.' Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc hailed the King for his campaigning over the decades on issues like communities, sustainability and traditional crafts that underpin the foundation, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary. His ITV series Raymond Blanc's Royal Kitchen Gardens took him to palaces like Hampton Court and Hillsborough, as well as Highgrove House and the Castle of Mey – places Charles calls home. Blanc, a foundation ambassador, said after meeting Charles: 'I think what the King has done is extraordinary. He's done it for many, many years – from the 1970s, about the same time I arrived in England – and my values are his values. 'There's a deep belief in connecting human beings with communities, with agriculture, with sustainability, management of waste, management of energy, and he has done it for the last 45, 50 years.' Speaking about filming at the King's Scottish retreat, the Castle of Mey, which once belonged to his grandmother the Queen Mother, Blanc added: 'I really believe he got all his values seeing his grandma in this beautiful space. 'So natural, close to the sea, at the tip of Scotland where there was such a reservoir of natural things.' Blanc's words were echoed by Penny Lancaster who praised the monarch for creating the awards and highlighting the needs of the planet throughout his adult life. She added: 'The King may have been accused of hugging trees and people thinking he was mad when he started talking about the environment all that time ago, but he was at the forefront then and now has been proved right with everything he said and now we're all just trying to play catch up. 'I really recognise the beauty in the way he is trying to get us on board with his knowledge and if we can pass that on to the younger generation, and save some of the traditional skills like we've seen with these winners today, we can all be a part of making a difference.' The King's Foundation, previously known as The Prince's Foundation following an amalgamation of Charles' charities which stretch back to 1990, aims to 'advocate for the change His Majesty wants to see in the world'. The Emerging Talent prize was presented by Beckham, the former England football captain rumoured to be knighted soon, to Emily Hurst who has shown exceptional talent and commitment while on a King's Foundation programme. She recently completed the Chanel and King's Foundation Metiers d'Art Fellowship in Millinery, based at Highgrove Gardens after she had become fascinated with the heritage craft of straw braiding and began learning to produce hats from the material. She said: 'Working at Highgrove was absolutely the best place to be, surrounded by so much inspiration from His Majesty's garden and learning from some of the best milliners with country, I'm so incredibly honoured.'

Sabrina Carpenter, one of pop music's biggest new stars, unveiled the cover art for her upcoming album 'Man's Best Friend' on Wednesday, quickly setting social media ablaze with both fierce criticism of what some feel is a 'degrading' cover, while others defend it as a clear work of satire. Another image Carpenter posted, which appears to be an alternate cover or the album's back cover, depicts a dog wearing a collar with a tag that says 'Man's Best Friend.' The album cover immediately took social media by storm, drawing fierce criticism from social media users, columnists and a women's charity who have said the cover is degrading to Carpenter, or to women. Fans defended Carpenter, whose pop music often has a wry or ironic undercurrent, as making satirical commentary on misogyny. The album drops Aug. 29, and Carpenter has already released the album's lead single, 'Manchild.' Glasgow Women's Aid, a Scotland-based advocacy organization for women experiencing domestic abuse, slammed Carpenter in a post on Instagram on Thursday calling the album cover 'regressive,' and stating it evokes 'tired tropes that reduce women to pets, props, and possessions and promote an element of violence and control.' A column in The Telegraph Thursday complained in a headline that Carpenter's 'over-sexed, degrading new album cover has gone too far,' and the writer Poppie Platt noted Carpenter has many young fans and said her marketing is 'troubling,' comparing it to TikTok trends like the 'trad-wife' aesthetic that promote subservience to men. Some of the most-liked comments on Carpenter's Instagram post of the album cover were critical. 'Is this a humiliation ritual? WTH is this cover,' one comment, which garnered 8,000 likes says, while another commenter stated: 'Explain to me again how this isn't centering men? How this isn't catering to the male gaze?' Carpenter's fans praised her cover as satirical. 'I am a little concerned about people's inability to immediately clock that the cover is obviously a commentary on the way women are treated,' one post on X, which garnered more than 44,000 likes, states. The fan cited her single 'Manchild,' in which she pokes fun at men, as a hint the upcoming album may also be satirical. Entertainment editor at the U.K. publication Metro, Brooke Ivey Johnson, wrote Thursday that Carpenter 'knew you'd hate her kinky album cover – that's the point,' defending her as an 'expert in shaping a narrative' and stating Carpenter's brand is 'built around men being little more than background noise.' Johnson called Carpenter's aesthetic 'a kind of satire: A knowing wink at how femininity is constructed, consumed, and commodified,' citing her new single 'Manchild' as a 'satirical exaggeration' of submissiveness to men. No, Carpenter has not directly addressed the controversy over her album cover. But in a cover story in Rolling Stone published Thursday, Carpenter addressed critics of her sex-positive stage presence, stating she feels she has 'never lived in a time where women have been picked apart more, and scrutinized in every capacity.' While performing her song 'Juno' on tour, which contains the lyric: 'Wanna try out some freaky positions? Have you ever tried this one?'
