Panthers Wide Receiver Xavier Legette Stuns in Acting Debut

Panthers Wide Receiver Xavier Legette Stuns in Acting Debut originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Most second-year wide receivers focus on route trees, film study, and perfecting their release. But Xavier Legette? He just added 'music video heartthrob' to his growing résumé. The 24-year-old Carolina Panthers wideout has stepped into a spotlight few NFL players ever do, starring as the romantic lead in GloRilla's sizzling new music video, Typa, which dropped recently and already has fans talking. And no, this isn't a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo. Legette takes center stage in a series of steamy scenes that have sparked headlines, social media speculation, and a surprising new level of celebrity. At one point in the video, the shirtless 6'1', 221-pound receiver shares an intimate moment with the Grammy-nominated rapper, whose song samples Keyshia Cole's hit Love. Their chemistry is undeniable, and it didn't take long for rumors to swirl online. The former South Carolina Gamecock made waves in 2024 with 497 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns as a rookie. But now, he's building a personal brand that goes beyond the gridiron. It's a savvy move in today's NFL, where players who build their off-field image can increase endorsement value and fan reach. Think Travis Kelce, but with a Southern drawl and a taste for raccoon (yes, really! Look it up). Whether this is a one-time gig or the beginning of something bigger, one thing's clear: Xavier Legette isn't afraid to color outside the lines. Carolina, meet your new WR1 of personality. Rams, Sean McVay Drop Clever Reaction to Surprise Reference by Lil' Wayne

Rams, Sean McVay Drop Clever Reaction to Surprise Reference by Lil' Wayne originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Sean McVay found his way into "Tha Carter VI" courtesy of Lil' Wayne. The Grammy winning rapper dropped his much-anticipated newest album Friday. It's the sixth installment of his "Tha Carter" album series that's won over his fans over the years. Now he's grabbed the attention of the Los Angeles Rams. Wayne references the Super Bowl winning head coach on the track "Welcome to Tha Carter," which is the second track off the 19-song album. The song starts with a church choir theme intro, but then blends in drums and Wayne's signature rapping voice. It goes from Gospel theme to one filled with sports references -- including this lyric that brings up McVay: "Smokin that bomb LA like I'm McVay/Bombs away, I'm just tryna concentrate," Wayne raps. Well, turns out the Rams heard that bar loud and clear. They posted this clever reaction featuring their beloved head coach. The Super Bowl LVI winner isn't the only L.A. reference on the track. Former Los Angeles Lakers champion and NBA All-Star Metta World Peace is mentioned by Wayne on the song too. McVay himself hasn't personally reacted to the song. But it's not the first time the Rams have reacted to any major Hip-Hop news. Rams mascot Rampage posted a picture mimicking Kendrick Lamar's "GNX" album cover -- which showed the mascot in front of the Buick vehicle just like the Compton native. Lamar released that album in 2024 and since has gone on tour -- including performing two shows at the Rams' home of SoFi Stadium. The Rams also used the late Nipsey Hussle's hit track "Grindin' All My Life" as part of their 2024 schedule release. Now the New Orleans native Wayne showed love to McVay and story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Cynthia Erivo Says ‘I Forgive You' On New Album

Cynthia Erivo Acclaimed singer and actress Cynthia Erivo is heading back to Oz later this year in Wicked: For Good, but between her turns as Elphaba on the big screen, the Grammy and Tony winner is returning to music with her second studio album, I Forgive You. I Forgive You arrives four years after Erivo's debut LP Ch. 1 Vs. 1 and is an intimate look into the ups and the downs of the star's personal life. She first teased the album with lead single 'Replay' and followed it up with 'Worst of Me' in April. 'This album is a collection of stories and songs that are both personal for things that are happening now, things that have happened in the past, and I think some of which I have had to forgive people for. And honestly, some of which I've had to forgive myself for. And I loved the idea of calling it this title, because it's a simple concept, but not an easy one. And not one that we as humans are very good at, often,' she told The Associated Press of the project. Recording I Forgive You, then, was a cathartic expression for Erivo. 'The meat of each of the pieces that you listen to is the voice, so that you can hear the lyrics, you can hear the song, you can hear the emotion in it,' she said. 'Everything you hear in there is real and tangible.' Singing and acting have been intertwined in Erivo's career for years, and for her, the two work in tandem to improve the other. 'They feed each other,' she explained. 'When I sing, I feel free and I feel open, which means that when I go and act — because I've given myself that experience — the want to close off again sort of goes away. So, when I'm on a set, I'm as open as I am when I am singing. I'm waiting to receive whatever I'm getting from my counterpart or whoever's opposite me so I can actually listen. Because the act of writing and singing actually is also the act of listening.'
