How to pre-register for VALORANT Mobile
The ES TIMES — The highly anticipated VALORANT Mobile game is finally nearing launch, and players in select regions can now pre-register for early access. Pre-registration not only keeps you up to date with the latest official updates, but it also increases your chances of being among the first to experience Riot Games' tactical shooter on mobile. Regional Launch and Early Access As with many major mobile game launches, VALORANT Mobile will follow a regional launch strategy. This means that certain regions, starting with China, will receive access first. The first phase of testing has already begun in China, with Tencent-owned Lightspeed Studios handling development there. How to Pre-Register Currently, pre-registration is only available through the official VALORANT Mobile website for China. Players selected for early access will receive an email with download instructions and additional information. For other regions, Riot Games is expected to launch pre-registration via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in the near future. Although these pages are not yet live, players are advised to follow local stores or Riot's official channels for any updates. Technically, it is possible to access the Chinese version using a VPN or alternative methods, but this is not recommended. Server issues and high ping can lead to a frustrating experience, and the language barrier can hinder understanding important instructions or using some in-game features. Global Release and Rewards After the testing phase in China concludes, access is expected to expand to other regions. As we've become accustomed to Riot Games, pre-registration rewards will be offered, but unlocking them may require completing in-game tasks or reaching certain milestones during the testing periods. As the full release date approaches, players can expect to see the addition of new challenges, missions, and an in-game store filled with exclusive cosmetics and content designed specifically for the mobile platform.

Flying cars in Saudi Arabia? ALJ, Joby sign agreement
Abdul Latif Jameel, an 80-year-old network of diversified businesses, and Joby Aviation, a company developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service, have announced the signing of an MoU to explore opportunities to establish a distribution agreement in Saudi Arabia for Joby's electric aircraft. This announcement builds upon the renewed economic partnership between the US administration and the Saudi government toward shared innovation and transportation growth. Potential delivery of up to 200 Joby aircraft and related services valued at approximately $1 billion are expected by the businesses over the coming years. In the long-term, Abdul Latif Jameel and Joby also see potential revenue opportunities across the Middle East. Abdul Latif Jameel and Joby share complementary long-term visions to revolutionize the future of mobility through transportation services that are cleaner, safer, more efficient and more affordable, helping to improve passenger experiences while simultaneously protecting the planet. In addition, the Jameel family invested in Joby's Series C funding round, led by Toyota Motor Corporation in 2020. The direct sale of aircraft through businesses such as Abdul Latif Jameel form one pillar of Joby's commercialization strategy. Additionally, Joby will directly own and operate its aircraft and services in certain markets, like the US, and partner for similar operations in other markets, such as Japan. 'This collaboration is about bringing America's leadership in electric air mobility to the world,' said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation. 'Together with Abdul Latif Jameel, we're not just imagining a cleaner, safer, more efficient future— we're building it. And there is no better partner to help unlock the extraordinary opportunity for air travel in the region.' Hassan Jameel, vice chairman, Saudi Arabia, Abdul Latif Jameel, said: 'Saudi Arabia is transitioning toward a new era of mobility — one that is on-demand, shared, connected, and sustainable. eVTOL is an exciting and important component of this. We are looking forward to collaborating with Joby to support the transformation of the Kingdom's mobility sector. This collaboration also comes as Abdul Latif Jameel Motors marks 70 years of distributing Toyota in Saudi Arabia — a strategic investor in Joby.' Joby's collaboration with Abdul Latif Jameel will initially focus on Saudi Arabia, where Abdul Latif Jameel has an extensive presence, network and deep operational experience. The two businesses will work together to explore distribution and sales collaborations, the launch of local air taxi services, including the establishment of aftermarket services such as maintenance, repair, and overhaul, and pilot training. Joby's piloted, all-electric aircraft is designed to carry four passengers at speeds of up to 200 mph, offering high-speed mobility with a fraction of the noise produced by helicopters and zero operating emissions. The business plans to carry its first passengers in Dubai in 2026. Given the importance of mobility to Saudi Arabia's urban transformation, the collaboration will drive socioeconomic growth in the Kingdom and create employment opportunities for Saudi nationals, in line with Vision 2030.

Trump, Xi to Hold Crucial Call Amid Growing Trade Tensions
US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will likely hold a long-awaited phone call later this week, the White House announced on Monday. This potential conversation emerges as trade tensions between the world's two largest economies escalate significantly. This upcoming discussion holds immense importance for global financial markets and international trade relations, emphasizing the leaders' direct engagement. Renewed Trade Frictions President Trump reignited strains with China last week, asserting that the world's second-biggest economy had violated a previously agreed-upon deal. This agreement had temporarily reduced significant tit-for-tat tariffs between both nations, aiming for a more balanced trade environment. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the impending dialogue, stating, 'The two leaders will likely talk this week,' when reporters inquired about the anticipated contact. Trump and Xi have not had any confirmed contact for over five months since the Republican leader returned to office, despite frequent claims by the US president that a call was imminent. Trump even asserted in an April Time Magazine interview that Xi had called him, a claim Beijing subsequently denied, insisting no recent call had occurred. Stock markets worldwide largely slid on Monday as these US-China tensions resurfaced, reflecting investor concerns about the ongoing trade dispute. Tariffs and Accusations In early April, Trump introduced sweeping worldwide tariffs, targeting China most heavily. He accused other countries of 'ripping off' the United States and running significant trade imbalances, disrupting established global trade norms. Beijing and Washington had agreed last month to slash staggeringly high tariffs on each other for 90 days after constructive talks between top officials in Geneva. However, Trump and top US officials in Washington last week accused China of violating the deal, with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick telling Fox News Sunday that Beijing was 'slow-rolling' the agreement. Beijing immediately rejected those 'bogus' US claims on Monday, in turn accusing Washington of introducing 'a number of discriminatory restrictive measures,' further complicating the trade landscape. Moreover, Trump has separately escalated tensions with other trade partners, including the European Union, by vowing to double global tariffs on steel and aluminum to 50% starting Wednesday.
