Coachella Festival is *sort of* coming to Abu Dhabi

If you're sick of scrolling past your friends over the pond enjoying Coachella while you sit in the office… we've got a fix.
It's not quite a flight to Palm Springs, but it's certainly a step in the glittery, paint-splattered, boho-chic direction.
Design & Dine – the UAE's resident champs of art-meets-party – are bringing a full-blown Coachella-themed sip and paint session to Abu Dhabi on May 16. This one's got all the festival trimmings: live DJs, sparkles, dressing up and a canvas that won't judge your questionable brush strokes.
Yes, you'll actually be painting. No, you don't need to know what you're doing on a canvas as it's super beginner-friendly.
There are more than ten music-festival-themed designs to choose from, all inspired by this year's Coachella line-up. It's less 'art school critique' and more 'doodling with flair.'
As for the party part? Expect two hours of unlimited drinks (mixed drinks, mocktails, grape, you name it), a gourmet take on street food and a crowd that's part brunch club, part raver city. There's a DJ spinning a crowd-pleasing mix of pop, R&B and indie-electro bangers. Oh and yes – there's a glitter bar. Of course there is.
Dress code? Boho. Loud. Shiny. Prizes are on the line, so dig out the feathers and fringe skirts while you still can. And if you want to double up on festie vibes, there's also a Dubai version on May 9.
The painting workshop will set you back Dhs199 – paid in advance as a non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit to lock in your spot.
Then you've got the brunch side of things: Dhs200 for the soft drinks package or Dhs250 if you're going with premium beverages – both paid directly to the venue on the night.
Altogether, you're looking at Dhs399 or Dhs449 depending on how hard you plan to party.
This is your official excuse to pretend you're at a music festival – without the jetlag, porta-loos or overpriced tacos. Win-win.
From Dhs399. Friday May 16, 7pm-10pm. Saadiyat Beach Club. designanddine.ae, (050 579 2805).

Introducing The Summer 2025 Issue Of Bazaar Arabia Interiors

Celebrating the designers, spaces and visionary tastemakers that bring this season's most stylish interiors to life… The last few months have served as an incredible reminder of the profound impact design has on every facet of our lives. The inaugural Downtown Design Riyadh in May put Saudi front and centre, with its four-day event at JAX District in Diriyah, celebrating both regional and international talent and connecting global brands with the Kingdom's creative community. The 64th edition of Salone del Mobile in April once again proved why it's the most influential fair in the global design calendar, with a theme this year of Human Touch that focused on materiality, emotion and craftsmanship. EXPO 2025 also opened its doors, running until October in Osaka, with the Middle Eastern pavilions blending millennia-old civilisations with cutting-edge visions. New ideas, new names, new launches… The design world is as vibrant and remarkable as it's ever been. Unearthing uniqueness is one of the greatest privileges when putting together each edition of Harper's Bazaar Interiors. Discovering and delving into truly singular spaces that push the boundaries of design, experience and livability is the cornerstone of what we do. Casa Roca, a quiet sanctuary in Jumeirah Park, is one such space. Designed around raw, earthy, natural elegance, the villa celebrates the spirit of Wabi Sabi – a Japanese philosophy that finds beauty in imperfection – allowing nature's rawest elements to take lead, ushering in a quiet luxury that feels inherently organic. Turning to homes across the region and beyond, we explore the different connections we have with the spaces we live in and love. For Carmel Harrison, her Palm Jumeirah apartment is an extension of her spiritual second home, Ibiza, asserting, 'If I can't live there yet, I'll bring the island to me.' For Shima Samaei, her creative domain, a sun-drenched apartment in Index Tower, is an extension of her broader ethos, that a home should provoke thought, stir emotion and still serve the quiet rituals of everyday life. And in London, Brigitta Spinocchia Freund treats her west-London villa as an ever-evolving gallery space. Thought-provoking design from myriad perspectives. As we welcome summer, and thoughts turn to vacations and perhaps lighter, brighter colour codes – such as our Mediterranean-infused cover – now is the time to be playful. To allow design to enhance your world, rather than be dictated by it. Whether you're led by nature or perhaps something altogether more instinctive, the foundations of design remain the same: it should be fun. I hope this issue sparks wonder in all the right ways. Amman International Film Festival announces details of sixth edition

This year, the festival welcomes Ireland as Country of Honour, focusing on Irish cinema with a specific section dedicated to it. The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film has announced the details of its sixth edition, set to take place from July 2 to July 10 in Jordan's capital. This year's theme, 'A World Unscripted,' celebrates the raw, unpredictable nature of storytelling that mirrors the unscripted nature of real life. Festival President Princess Rym Ali explained that the theme reflects a commitment to showcasing films that defy convention and embrace the authenticity of lived experience. 'This edition embraces the unpredictable and the deeply human in the midst of a volatile and rapidly changing world,' she stated. 'Life doesn't follow a script; and recent years have certainly been unscripted. So, in this edition, we pay tribute to storytellers who dare to explore and narrate moments that feel more lived than written.' The festival's official poster, designed by HUE Innovation & Design, captures this spirit with a visual style that introduces both a playful tone and a subtle message of hope, reinforcing the core message of spontaneity and resilience. This year also marks a significant milestone for the festival with the introduction of its first-ever 'Country of Honour.' Ireland has been selected for this role, with a dedicated spotlight on Irish cinema featured in the programme. Festival Director Nada Doumani highlighted the thematic synergy between Irish and Arab films, noting that both cultures use cinema to explore identity, resilience, and the path toward peace. She emphasised that within the framework of 'A World Unscripted,' Irish and Arab stories find common ground in their exploration of human experience. Doumani also pointed to Ireland's principled stance and strong support for Palestine and human rights, which further resonates with the region and the spirit of this year's edition. Irish Ambassador to Jordan, Marianne Bolger, added: 'I am exceptionally proud that Ireland has been selected as the Festival's first Country of Honour, and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the President of the Festival and its organisers. Ireland has a long history in cinema and filmmaking, and we are delighted to work closely with the AIFF to bring a collection of Irish films to Jordan that will hopefully resonate with audiences. I believe each Irish film on display will speak, in its own way, to the theme of 'A World Unscripted', and I look forward to seeing how these movies are perceived by Jordanian viewers.'
