A van has collided with a post office in Modbury.Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to the scene at 07:45 GMT, where damage was caused to the windows and structure of the Broad Street premises.The van was unoccupied at the time, having rolled backwards into the property.No-one was injured and the road was clear by 08:45, according to the force.
Driver 'devastated'
Steve Mullineaux, director of customer service at South Hams District Council, said: "I have been to Modbury this morning, to speak directly to those concerned in the incident. "It was an unfortunate and regrettable incident and we're really thankful that nobody was hurt."We are supporting the owner of the business to make the property safe and we are in contact with our insurers. We are also supporting our own driver who is devastated about the incident."Early investigations lead us to believe that the incident was a mechanical failure on the vehicle and we are assured it wasn't driver error."I would like to assure everyone that we take public safety very seriously and we will be carrying out a thorough internal investigation into the vehicle failure."

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a JCB tractor, police services were called to the junction of London Road and Shelford Road, near Harston which is close to Cambridge, at about 17:00 BST on said the blue Honda NC750X motorbike was involved in the collision with the tractor which was heading in the opposite force said the rider, a 44-year-old man from Cambridge, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital. The driver of the JCB, a 29-year-old man from Newton, was uninjured and remained at the scene after the Dan Newton said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to get in touch with us." A470 in Powys closed after Volkswagen crashes into wall

A main road in Powys was closed by Police after a Volkswagen crashed into wall. Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that the A470 near Builth Wells was closed both ways after reports of a 'single vehicle collision'. Officers attended the scene this morning (June 4) at 8am and found that a blue Volkswagen Tiguan Estate had crashed into a wall on the road between Builth Wells and Erwood. The road was closed in both directions until 9am however Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed the one carriageway would remain closed while debris from the crash was cleared. A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: 'Police attended a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at 8.10am, this morning, Wednesday June 4. 'A blue Tiguan Estate collided with a wall on the A470 near Builth wells. 'No injuries reported. 'The road was closed with one carriageway opening at 9.10am. 'The second carriageway remains closed while the vehicle is recovered and debris removed.'
