Texas Dad Allegedly Asked 10-Year-Old Girl To Drive Truck, Leading To Crash That Killed Boy, 6
A man in Lufkin, Texas, is facing a charge of criminally negligent homicide after he allegedly asked a 10-year-old girl to move his pickup on Sunday, leading to a fatal crash.
While behind the wheel, the girl crashed the Nissan Titan into a porch, and a 6-year-old boy was killed, according to local ABC affiliate KTRE TV.
Clinton Earl Johnson Jr., 31, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the crash, which took place while he and his family were grilling.
Johnson's 6-year-old stepson was looking at a cellphone on the porch while a 10-year-old girl rode around the driveway on a tricycle, according to an Angelina County Sheriff's Office document obtained by KTRE.
At one point, the girl reportedly griped that Johnson's truck was in her way, so Johnson allegedly told her to 'scoot it up,' according to an arrest document obtained by CBS 19.

Johnson later told investigators that the girl had driven on backroads previously, according to KYTX TV.
However, the boy's mother told the sheriff's department that when her daughter was behind the wheel, she 'got confused and got on the gas,' and the truck slammed into the porch, KTRE reported.
Deputies from the Angelina County Sheriff's Office found several boards and poles on the ground when they arrived, as well as Johnson's stepson on the ground in front of the truck.
The boy was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Deputies noted they smelled alcohol on Johnson and the boy's mother, and they allegedly admitted to having three or four drinks apiece.
On Tuesday, Johnson was taken to the Angelina County Jail and booked on a charge of state jail felony criminally negligent homicide. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond.
It's unclear whether he has obtained an attorney or when his next scheduled court date is.

100 grams of fentanyl seized, two arrested in Chautauqua Co. raid
(WJET/WFXP)– Two Chautauqua County residents are facing a fresh set of criminal charges after police said they found more than 100 grams of fentanyl during a raid at their home Friday morning. That raid happened around 6:26 a.m. in the 500 block of West 6th Street in Jamestown, New York, at the home of 41-year-old Jermeek Johnson and 30-year-old Danielle Barber, both of Jamestown. TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa police say the driver behind an explosives threat that shut down a stretch of Dale Mabry Highway on Thursday evening had fallen asleep behind the wheel and was woken up by officers before he claimed to have a bomb in his car. The backstory The Tampa Police Department says officers responded to the intersection of N. Dale Mabry Hwy. and Columbus Dr. shortly after 6:30 p.m. after getting reports of a sleeping driver impeding the flow of traffic. Police say they found Jeremy Johnson, 30, asleep inside the car, which was still running with the gear in reverse. After officers woke him up, he refused to identify himself or get out of the car, according to TPD. Investigators also say they saw drug paraphernalia "in plain view," which Johnson picked up and smoked out of while still in the car. As officers tried to get Johnson out of the car and into custody, police say he claimed to have a bomb, causing investigators to shut down the southbound lanes of Dale Mabry between Tampa Bay Blvd. and Columbus Dr. TPD says no bomb was found in the car, and Johnson was arrested about 25 minutes after officers first approached him. Kilmar Abrego Garcia heads back to US after wrongful deportation to El Salvador
An illegal migrant who was mistakenly deported from the US to El Salvador's notorious mega prison is on his way back to the US to face charges. Kilmar Abrego Garcia, 29, who entered the US illegally, was one of hundreds deported by Donald Trump. He will face criminal charges for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the US, ABC reported. The US Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to 'facilitate' Mr Abrego Garcia's return after he was mistakenly deported to El Salvador in March. The White House initially refused, insisting Mr Abrego Garcia is a member of the notorious South American gang MS-13, allegations his wife and lawyer have denied. Mr Abrego Garcia remained imprisoned in the notorious Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo in El Salvador. Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, said he lacked the power to return Mr Abrego Garcia, saying it would be 'preposterous' to 'smuggle a terrorist into the United States'. Mr Abrego Garcia's case dominated the news agenda in the US for a time and was seized upon by Democrats, who held it up as evidence of the cruelty of Mr Trump's mass deportation programme. In turn, Republicans claimed it proved that Democrats cared more about the welfare of an alleged gang member than the safety of the US people. Mr Abrego Garcia's wife Jennifer Vasquez has campaigned for his release, despite allegations he had previously beaten her and was once detained as part of a murder investigation. Police documents made public by Pam Bondi, the US attorney general, alleged Mr Abrego Garcia had a rank and street name with the brutal gang MS-13. He also allegedly beat Ms Vasquez in 2021, prompting her to get a restraining order against him and describe him as 'violent' in a handwritten statement. Ms Vasquez, who has since described her husband as an 'excellent father', previously told law enforcement he punched her, scratched her and ripped off her shirt. In an exclusive interview with The Telegraph in April, Gustavo Villatoro, El Salvador's justice and security minister, said there was 'no proof' Mr Abrego Garcia was a member of MS-13. Mr Villatoro also suggested it was possible El Salvador could facilitate the return of Mr Abrego Garcia 'in the future' should Donald Trump request it, contrary to claims made by Mr Bukele. Ms Bondi said a grand jury had found 'Abrego Garcia had played a significant role in an alien smuggling ring', prompting an arrest warrant to be sent to El Salvador. 'They found this was his full time job, not a contractor. He was a smuggler of humans and children and women.' Mr Abrego Garcia 'abused undocumented alien females', according to co-conspirators who were under his control while transporting them throughout our country, Ms Bondi claimed. He is alleged to have trafficked firearms and narcotics throughout America on multiple occasions, the grand jury found. A co-conspirator also alleged that Mr Garcia solicited nude photographs and videos of a minor and played a role in the murder of a rival gang member. 'It is very dangerous, and they [MS-13] are living throughout our country. but no more because they are being arrested, they are being prosecuted and being convicted and deported, when appropriate,' Ms Bondi added. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said: 'Abrego Garcia is an illegal alien terrorist, gang member, and human trafficker who has spent his entire life abusing innocent people, especially women and the most vulnerable. 'Abrego Garcia will now return to the United States to answer for his crimes and meet the full force of American justice.
