Emma and Jack were all set to tie the knot in the heart of Dublin. Everything was ready – the venue, the dress, the guests – but one thing was left. They wanted something special and smooth for their ride. After some research, they chose the Compton Chauffeurs service in Dublin. Emma called the team a few weeks before the big day. The process was simple and professional. She shared her wedding details, and the staff helped her pick the perfect car. They chose a Mercedes-Benz E-Class for the bride and a B-Class for family members. Everything was booked and confirmed in minutes. The chauffeur arrived on time. The car was shiny, clean, and decorated exactly as the couple wanted. The driver, wearing a suit, welcomed Emma and her father warmly. The ride was smooth and peaceful. Emma reached the venue feeling calm and relaxed. After saying 'I do,' it was time for some amazing pictures. The Mercedes made a perfect background for wedding photos in Phoenix Park, Dublin. The couple loved how professional the chauffeur was. He waited patiently, helped with the door, and even suggested good spots for pictures. Later, Emma and Jack were driven to the reception hall. Burgess Hodgson secures investment from Abry Partners
UK accountancy and advisory company Burgess Hodgson has secured an undisclosed investment from US private equity group Abry Partners. The Kent-based firm caters to fast-growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individual customers across the UK. Established in 1938, Burgess Hodgson, with headquarters in Canterbury, offers accounting and advisory services to more than 5,000 SME clients. The firm's team of more than 200 professionals delivers a broad range of services, including audit, tax, accounts advisory, outsourced finance, payroll, and corporate advisory solutions. Abry said the investment represents a key step in the professional services provider's expansion plans, offering both strategic guidance and financial backing to scale the business. The partnership aims to extend the firm's geographic reach, strengthen its digital infrastructure, and support selective acquisitions as it evolves into a larger, multi-regional advisory platform. Burgess Hodgson's leadership and partners will maintain significant equity ownership and will continue to guide the firm's strategic direction. As part of the investment, Mark Pacitti, former global leader of Deloitte's Corporate Finance Advisory practice and past chairman of the ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty, will join the board of Burgess Hodgson as non-executive chairman. The transaction's completion is contingent upon customary regulatory approvals. Continuum Advisory Partners is acting as the exclusive financial advisor to Burgess Hodgson, while Hines Associates and Paul Hastings (Europe) are advising and providing legal counsel to Abry Partners. Council approves flats at former Go Outdoors site
Planning consent has been granted by councillors for 319 new apartments in Chatham, Kent. Developer Arpenteur Nightingale applied for permission in December to construct the flats at the former Go Outdoors site in The Brook. Workers began demolition of the existing disused building in March. Medway Council's planning committee unanimously approved the proposal at a meeting on Wednesday, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service. Council officers had recommended the plans were approved, saying while aspects of the scheme do not comply with the Arches Chatham Neighbourhood Plan, the proposal is significantly adapted to align as much as possible. Council leader Vince Maple told the meeting the plans were now "a much better application than where it started from". "Nobody wants an empty supermarket in their ward, which is effectively what we've had for some time," Mr Maple, who is also the local ward councillor, said. The former Go Outdoors building has sat empty since the shop permanently closed in 2020. Tesco occupied the site from the 1970s until 2015. Committee member Adrian Gulvin said the scheme would "make a substantial contribution towards our housing numbers". "If we turn this down or try to get some alterations, we won't get anything at all, and this end of Chatham certainly needs a shot in the arm," he added. The proposals consist of five apartment blocks of between five and seven storeys. Follow BBC Kent on Facebook, on X, and on Instagram.
