4 arrested in connection with theft of trailer near Homestead Meadows South, Sheriff says
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Four people were recently arrested after they were allegedly involved in the theft of a flatbed trailer from a business near Homestead Meadows South, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
Brandon Gomez, 23, Yarelly Jaqueline Viramontes, 17, Claudia Martinez, 40, and Gerardo Antonio Hernandez, 33, were all arrested and were involved in the crime, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office says on Saturday, March 1, deputies responded to the 15000 block of Quillayute regarding the theft of a flatbed trailer from a business nearby.
Upon arrival, deputies reviewed surveillance footage which showed three people involved in the theft. The suspects were driving a silver Jeep, the Sheriff's Office said.
On Monday, March 3, the Sheriff's Office received anonymous information on where the stolen flatbed trailer was located. Deputies then conducted a follow-up investigation at a residence located on the 300 block of Citadel.
Once deputies arrived at the residence, they found the stolen trailer, and the Silver Jeep used during the crime, the Sheriff's Office said.
Detectives obtained two search warrants which led to the seizure of the stolen flatbed trailer, the Jeep, and a stolen grey Dodge Ram.
Gomez was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, interference with public duties, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, theft of property, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle with a total bond of $57,000.
Viramontes was charged with theft of property with a total bond of $10,000.
Martinez was charged with no license plate light and failure to appear with a total bond of $1,035.
Hernandez was charged with theft of property with a total bond of $10,000 and was wanted for an outstanding warrant.

Honorees Zion Reed, 22, and Drew Garner are being recognized for rescuing a woman suffering a seizure while driving on Hamilton Road on May 2. Reed, a mobile propane technician, leapt into action when he saw the driver veer into oncoming traffic near the Bryant Lake subdivision. Witness Drew Garner, who captured the event in photos and helped call 911, described Reed as sprinting toward the car, diving in headfirst, and slamming the brake — stopping the vehicle just feet away from a dump truck. The driver was convulsing and vomiting, but thanks to Reedbravery, she survived. 'This lady was having a seizure while driving, and the Lord gave me the strength to stop her vehicle before an accident occurred,' Reed later shared. 'Lord, I thank you for putting me in this position this morning.' Reed's mother added a touching detail — Zion was born weighing just 1 lb. 14 oz. 'We knew he was going to be special,' she said. In an emotional message sent to WRBL, the woman whose life was saved personally thanked both men. She said she is grateful beyond words and overwhelmed by their courage, saying she may not be alive today if not for their actions. The Troup County Sheriff's Office and City of LaGrange say both men embody the very best of their community. Local bikers looking for answers from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office after one of their own was severely injured in a hit-and-run
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Family and friends say they want justice for 27-year-old Morgan Gray. Gray was injured in a hit-and-run on her motorcycle on May 28th. She's in critical condition here at Doctors Hospital. And her loved ones say someone needs to be held accountable. The accident occurred just before 9 pm at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Frontage Road. Since this incident, bikers have been coming and forming a prayer circle in front of her window at the Hospital. 'We're Morgan Strong all day,' said Dalton Taylor, a Friend of Morgan. 'This little girl shouldn't be going through this all because of a hit and run. So, it's just pretty much just trying to get peace, get justice.' Summer Ivey, Morgan's cousin, has been working to obtain information from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office about the investigation but told me she feels she is getting the bare minimum from them. 'We've asked for updates. We've called, no reply,' said Summer Ivey, Morgans's Cousin. 'We've posted on social media. We've been loud. We've been doing prayer circles, just trying to be there for her. Her son needs her; her family needs her. Her friends, obviously, and we're just steadily going to fight.' The Sheriff's Office located the vehicle and its owner. The vehicle was a company vehicle. They are collecting evidence about the driver but are unable to say anything at this time. 'We have our suspicions, but there's a protocol that we follow,' said Major Robbie Silas, Special Operations Richmond County Sheriff's Office. 'I have a great team that is working tirelessly, you know, around the clock, trying to find the driver of this vehicle. Again, like I said, we are collecting evidence. The vehicle has been processed, and once we get all that, and we'll run that to the DA's office and let them see all the stuff that we have, and then we'll make those charges.' While they continue to seek answers about what happened and who is responsible, they have this solution to keep drivers on both four- and two-wheels safe. 'Regardless of what the situation is. We're on two wheels. Pay attention,' said Taylor. They have a GoFundMe for Morgan Grey.
