Nykaa shares drop despite strong Q4 performance
Nykaa parent FSN E-commerce saw shares decline in early trade as Indian market opened with losses on Monday. The counter opened 2% lower at Rs 199 against the previous closing of Rs 203.26 on the BSE. It was trading at Rs 201.26 as of 9:53 am.
The beauty and fashion retailer posted strong March quarter numbers last Friday, with nearly doubling to Rs 19 crore. The Mumbai-based company's operating revenue rose 23.6% year-on-year to Rs 2,016.7 crore for the fourth quarter, up from Rs 1,667.9 crore, driven by customer acquisition, brand partnerships, and network expansion.
The performance was in line with the company's guidance issued in April, when it projected consolidated net revenue growth in the low to mid-20% range for the March quarter. However, on a sequential basis, Nykaa's Q4 profit declined 29.3% from Rs 26.9 crore reported in the previous quarter.
Nykaa's beauty vertical, which contributes over 90% of the company's total revenue, posted a 24.7% YoY increase to Rs 1,895 crore from Rs 1,519 crore. The fashion segment saw muted growth, rising 11% to Rs 161 crore from Rs 145 crore, with gross merchandise value (GMV) growing 18% year-on-year.
For the full fiscal year, Nykaa reported a consolidated gross merchandise value (GMV) – total value of goods sold across its platforms – of Rs 15,604 crore, a 25% increase from the previous year.
Nykaa currently serves 42 million customers and operates 237 offline stores across India, offering products from over 8,600 brands. In FY25 alone, the company added around 50 stores — its highest annual addition to date."While BPC segment continues to deliver healthy growth with better profitability, revival in fashion business remains a key monitorable, given the heightened competitive intensity across the industry," said brokerages house Nuvama in a note on Monday.
Nuvama analysts continue to expect improvement in profitability on the back of lower losses in fashion and eB2B segment.

India's economy may grow 6.3% in FY26, 6.4% next fiscal: OECD
NEW DELHI: India's economy is projected to grow by 6.3% in 2025-26 and 6.4% in 2026-27, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said on Tuesday. It forecast global growth to slow to 2.9% in 2025 and 2026 due to substantial barriers to trade, tighter financial conditions, diminishing confidence, and heightened policy uncertainty. The projections by the Paris-based organisation showed that India will remain the fastest-growing economy among the G20 countries against the backdrop of global uncertainties. For India, the OECD trimmed the forecasts marginally. It said private consumption in India is supported by rising real incomes and lower personal income taxes. Investment will remain strong, bolstered by easing financial conditions. However, export growth is expected to moderate due to weaker global demand, the impact of higher tariffs, and heightened trade policy uncertainty. It stated that high merchandise export exposure to the US, which is India's largest export market, increases the vulnerability of private investment to shifts in trade policy. "Tariff increases and broader trade tensions may dampen investor sentiment, particularly in export-oriented sectors such as chemicals, textiles, and electronics. However, the overall GDP effects will be limited by the moderate share of exports in GDP, with merchandise exports towards the US accounting for only 2.1% of GDP," according to the OECD report. GDP growth in the US is projected to decline from 2.8% in 2024 to 1.6% in 2025 and 1.5% in 2026. In the euro area, growth is projected to strengthen modestly from 0.8% in 2024 to 1% in 2025 and 1.2% in 2026. China's growth is projected to moderate from 5% in 2024 to 4.7% in 2025 and 4.3% in 2026. "The global economy has shifted from a period of resilient growth and declining inflation to a more uncertain path," OECD secretary-general Mathias Cormann said. "Govts need to engage with each other to address any issues in the global trading system positively and constructively through dialogue," said Cormann. Have to deliver maximum planes to IndiGo, AI: Airbus
NEW DELHI: For Airbus, IndiGo and Air India are now among the top three airline customers globally with the maximum backlog or aircraft yet to be delivered, according to the aerospace major's EVP (sales, commercial aircraft) Benoit de Saint-Exupery. It has to deliver 916 and 344 aircraft, majority of which are narrow body, to IndiGo and AI, respectively, said an official. Malaysia-based AirAsia Group, which once used to run a JV airline in India with the Tatas, is at the second spot at 393 planes. In Delhi for the IATA AGM, Benoit had some good news for airlines that are getting increasingly frustrated with delivery delays (including from Boeing too). "We are seeing the first signs of stability in supply chain. We (are) now back to the pre-Covid level of producing 60 A320 family of single aisle planes every month and hope to increase this number to 75 by 2027. We have the orders and are ramping up production and every commercial (Airbus) aircraft that's flying going forward will be made partly made in India," Benoit said. Asked if the order book for 1,750 planes from IndiGo and AI makes a case for India to get a final assembly line (FAL), Benoit said: "We will have final assembly lines on the other products (one for H125 helicopters for its civil range and other for C295 military aircraft). by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Anvisa aprova solução para ajudar a reduzir gordura visceral da barriga em 7 dias! Sourcing from India has much value than an FAL for commercial aircraft and we are constantly increasing the same from here. Airbus sourcing from India was $500 millon in 2020. We crossed the $1-billion mark in 2023 and last year we were at $1.4 billion. We will reach $ 2 billion before the end of the decade." Remi Maillard, president of Airbus India and MD of south Asia region, said: "India is not only a market for us. It has become a strategic resource and industrial base for Airbus." About delays in aircraft deliveries due to supply chain issues, Benoit said: "Now we are seeing the first signs of stability in the supply chain. But you, you never quite rest because, as we all know, the situation can change quite quickly nowadays." Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . 'Maggi crisis was one of the greatest challenges of career'
NEW DELHI: The Maggi crisis, which unfolded in June 2015 and led to a nationwide ban of the popular instant noodles, was "one of the greatest challenges" of my career, said Suresh Narayanan , chairman and MD of Nestle India, said in his final letter to shareholders before his retirement on July 31. Narayanan, who took over as the company's CMD in 2015, is recognised for rejuvenating the company's flagship brand Maggi, after the FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) raised concerns about high levels of lead and monosodium glutamate in the product, leading to a temporary ban and significant backlash for the brand. Maggi noodles went from market leadership to near extinction and recovered 60% of its market share within months of its relaunch, he added. In his letter, Narayanan highlighted the decade's achievements, noting that Nestle India's capex increased from 1.8% of sales in 2015 to 10% in 24-25. "This not only demonstrates the focus on Indian consumers, but also our commitment to manufacture in India and 'Make in India' as a theme,'' he said. The company achieved a CAGR of over 10% in revenue and 21% in net profit over 2015-2025. Its revenue in FY24-25 stood at Rs 20,100 crore and net profit at Rs 3,300 crore. "In 2015, many considered us to be solely a Maggi noodles company. Since then we recalibrated and rejuvenated the portfolio launching over 150+ new products that have contributed to 7% of sales,'' Narayanan said.
