The Spaniard, bidding to become the first man to retain the Roland Garros crown since compatriot Rafael Nadal in 2020, beat world number 56 Marozsan 6-1 4-6 6-1 6-2.
Alcaraz was being watched by Paris St Germain stars Nuno Mendes and Goncalo Ramos, just four days before their Champions League final against Inter Milan.

Liverpool title winner Cody Gakpo was also in attendance so Alcaraz, always the entertainer, showed off his skills with some keep-ups and a neat volley to a ball kid.
'Sometimes it is difficult to have fun on the court when you're suffering out there. It depends on the opponent as well,' he said.
'Most of the time I'm not trying to think about anything else but enjoying playing and enjoying being on this court.
'I just want to show good tennis. I want to make sure people are happy watching my match as well. That's the way I enjoy playing tennis.'
Alcaraz clinched a one-sided opening set in just 28 minutes after an exchange of delicate drop shots at the net.
But there was a twist at the start of the second when Marozsan, who beat Alcaraz in Rome two years ago, secured an early break.

Alacaraz was frustrated when he let three break points slip through his fingers as Marozsan levelled the match.
But the 22-year-old meant business in the third, breaking twice and at one point sliding to whip a backhand volley around the net post on to the line.
The fourth set went the same way as Alcaraz won his ninth French Open match in a row, booking his place in the third round in two hours and nine minutes.
Two-time runner-up Casper Ruud was a surprise second-round casualty, although the Norwegian seventh seed was clearly not fully fit and could barely move at the end of a 6-2 4-6 1-6 0-6 defeat to Portugal's Nuno Borges.
Italian eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti, who is playing as well as anyone on the clay this season, flexed his muscles with a 6-4 6-0 6-4 victory over Colombia's Daniel Elahi Galan.
In the women's draw, last year's runner-up Jasmine Paolini, seeded four, made light work of Australian Ajla Tomljanovic in a 6-3 6-3 win.
Teenage Canadian sensation Victoria Mboko dispatched Germany's Eva Lys 6-4 6-4 to set up a third-round meeting with eighth seed Qinwen Zheng, the last woman to win a title at Roland Garros having claimed Olympic singles gold last summer.

Kris Boyd dismisses Celtic points gap and claims Russell Martin can lead Rangers to title glory

Gers ended the Premiership campaign 17 points behind their rivals but Boyd is adamant Martin can turn things around quickly Kris Boyd believes Russell Martin is the man to end Celtic's dominance and make Rangers top dogs in Scotland again. Gers finally ended their 102-day search for Philippe Clement's replacement by handing the Ibrox reins to ex-Southampton boss Martin. ‌ The former Scotland international has been tasked with leading the Light Blues' revival and bridging the gap with their rivals across the city. ‌ Martin – who has also managed MK Dons and Swansea – led Saints to Premier League promotion in 2024 but was axed in December after just one win from 16 top-flight matches. The 39-year-old's mixed managerial record has heightened concerns among supporters as to whether he's the right man for the job. Trophy-starved Rangers ended another dismal campaign 17 points behind runaway champions Celtic but Boyd is adamant Martin has the right credentials to transform the Glasgow giants into title challengers. "Listen, it didn't make good reading for Rangers domestically last year once again", the legendary striker told Sky Sports News. "But we've seen it before. You go back to Dick Advocat's team, they totally wiped the floor with Celtic. Martin O'Neill arrived and they totally wiped the floor with that Rangers team, which was a good Rangers team. "I think that you look at Rangers' problems, they didn't come against Celtic last year, they were against everyone else. ‌ "So if Rangers can eradicate the results against everybody else and start to build momentum early, start winning the games against the rest, then the Old Firm games will take care of themselves. "And Rangers have shown that they can cause Celtic problems in one-off games. But it's finding that consistency, and that's going to be the challenge for Russell Martin from now on. ‌ "He needs to find a level of consistency to go and beat the rest that allows Rangers to challenge towards the latter stage of the season against Celtic. "I've seen bigger point gaps than this being turned around. It's not like in England where you might have one big team who's struggling, but there are another three or four who are doing okay, and you need to overtake the three or four. "For Rangers, they only need to overtake Celtic for it to be a success. But, it's going to be a lot harder than you think because Celtic, under Brendan Rodgers, have been a well-oiled machine now for a number of seasons. ‌ "They do look as if they will strengthen again in the summer. They've got an opportunity for Champions League football again. "I think that it's a tough ask, but I think Rangers have got the right man, and he's shown that he can improve players, he can improve teams, he can build a culture within the football club that will allow the club to flourish going forward. "So, for me, can that gap be closed? Of course it can. Rangers need to find that consistency against everyone else. ‌ "But also, we've all been part of squads where you know you're going to be playing, you know you're the first name on the team sheet, and that's not good. It's not healthy. "You need to have people pushing you every single day in training, and I'm sure if Russell Martin's to add six or seven players to that, the starters from last year will probably become substitutes, and then it's up to them to fight back to try and get on the team. "And that is a healthy squad." Exclusive: Guardiola dreams of World Cup glory but has no plans to leave City anytime soon

BARCELONA, June 5 - Pep Guardiola has no plans to leave Manchester City anytime soon but the Spaniard has often thought about what it would be like to guide an international team and says he would love to take on the challenge of a World Cup or Euros campaign. "I would love to be in a World Cup, in a Euro, a Copa America,' Guardiola told Reuters in an exclusive interview. 'I have always thought about it. But it depends on many, many things. If it happens, it's fine. If it doesn't happen, it's more than fine as well." After winning 12 domestic top-flight titles across Spain, Germany and England, Guardiola endured a trophyless campaign with City last season, a shock to the system after so much success. While he came in for some stinging criticism over his elite squad's failure on all fronts, Guardiola said he was not interested in "proving the haters wrong' when City start afresh next season. "It's to prove myself that I can do it, I don't want to have those feeling that last season left' he added. "Because when we win, the wine tastes better afterwards, you sleep better. I don't know a manager who loses games and sleeps like a baby. It doesn't happen. You've got to worry. That's part of our life." Top of Guardiola's 'to-do list' is to win another Champions League with City and should they cross paths once more with Real Madrid, his nemesis Carlo Ancelotti will not be in the opposing dugout after the Italian took charge of Brazil. Mere mention of Ancelotti's departure was enough to put a smile on Guardiola's lips. The pair faced each other five times in the knockout rounds of the Champions League, with the Italian coming out on top in all but one. "I'm so happy for him,' Guardiola said. "But I'm so happy that he's not in Madrid anymore because all the time he beats me. That I don't have to handle it anymore." The Spaniard added that it was unrealistic to expect him to win everything every year, and said that even the most successful athletes lose more than they win. "I won 12 domestic leagues in 16 years. It's not bad, I would say. But you cannot win all the time. I cannot win the Champions League all the time," he added. "Michael Jordan, the best athlete I've ever seen in my life won six NBA Championships in 15 years. Tiger Woods, one incredible golf player, Jack Nicklaus, I don't know how many he has. But they lost more Grand Slams than they won. It happens." Enjoying a short holiday in Barcelona, Guardiola said he is just trying to live a "normal life" before football pulls him back in, with City set to play in the revamped Club World Cup in the United States from June 14 to July 13. 'Wake up later and don't be with the players. Try to live what would be a normal life,' Guardiola said. 'Go to a concert, lay down on the sofa, read books. I can play golf when my body allows me. Watch series that people suggest to me during the season to watch, like I'm not able to do. "And I want to tell you something. Usually, I'm going to do the same things as you do in your life.'

5 potential destinations for Jack Grealish after brutal axe from Man City squad

Man City boss Pep Guardiola is set to exclude Jack Grealish from his Club World Cup squad heading to the United States this summer and the England star could be forced to assess his options Jack Grealish's future at Manchester City looks increasingly uncertain with the club set to leave him out of their squad for the Club World Cup this summer. The England international has suffered a difficult two years with City after falling down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola. The winger - who joined City for £100million in 2021 and is still the most expensive British signing ever - played a huge part in helping the club win the treble in 2023 but Jeremy Doku is now Guardiola's preferred option on the left flank. Guardiola admitted Grealish needed more game time after their final game of the season, a 2-0 win at Fulham, but said it was a question for the club over what will happen regarding his future. ‌ "Of course Jack has to play. He's an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days," the Spaniard said. "It didn't happen this season and last season either. He needs to do it, and that's with us, or another place. And that's a question for Jack, his agent, and the club." ‌ Guardiola excluding him from his group to travel to the United States is particularly damning and now Grealish could be forced to start assessing his options - though a move will prove difficult amid his £300,000-a-week salary. Mirror Football has taken a look at five possible destinations for Grealish as he looks to get his career back on track this summer. Tottenham Spurs were strongly linked with Grealish before his move to City when he was at Aston Villa and made a failed £25m bid for the player in 2018 - back when he was playing in the Championship. Seven years later, Grealish has become a completely different player after winning three Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the Champions League. Spurs will be looking to push on next season after winning the Europa League and are one of the clubs who can offer the player Champions League football. Ange Postecoglou - should he avoid the sack - might like a player like Grealish who can run at defenders with pace and flair. ‌ Tottenham are in need of a new left winger after Timo Werner's two-year loan spell ended, Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the club will renew their loan for Mathys Tel and Son Heung-min is approaching the final month of his contract. Grealish can also play centrally, which would provide back up at No 10 to cover for James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, who have both struggled with injuries of late. Aston Villa return? This might be a move for the football romantics but there's no doubt Villa still holds a special place in Grealish's heart after starting his career with the club as a six-year-old. ‌ He played 213 times for his boyhood club, with his debut season coming in 2013-14 before suffering relegation and helping them return to the top flight in 2018-19. Villa raked in a £100m transfer fee when he left for City at the end of the 2020-21 campaign and while it is unlikely the club could afford to buy him back permanently, a loan deal might be feasible. ‌ There might be a place for Grealish in the team, especially given that Marcus Rashford looks unlikely to return to Villa Park after his own loan spell and Grealish could be a good replacement. Outside of Rashford, Morgan Rogers looks to be the only unshiftable player on the wing and he can play on the right. Grealish would otherwise have to compete with the likes of Leon Bailey and Jacob Ramsey for a slot at left wing. Everton Working with David Moyes might be an attractive prospect for Grealish, while also knowing that he should be guaranteed a starting role due to Everton's lack of quality options on the wing. ‌ Iliman Ndiaye performed well on the left flank for the Toffees in the 2024-25 season, scoring 11 times in all competitions, but Moyes will need more depth and better competition as Everton approach an exciting season in their new stadium. Moyes will also be eager to add to his options, with Jack Harrison's loan spell set to end, as he bids to ensure the Toffees don't endure another relegation battle. ‌ The Athletic's David Ornstein claimed Everton were "an interesting possibility" because they required new signings heading into their season in the new stadium - while the location would also suit Grealish. He said: "Everton are an interesting possibility in my mind, especially as they need players, are heading into an amazing new stadium and that would keep him close to home in the north west." Move to Saudi Saudi Pro League clubs have always got their eyes on the biggest talent the Premier League has to offer and after failing in a move for both Bruno Fernandes and Mohamed Salah, Grealish might be next on their radar. ‌ The league have already managed to lure Ivan Toney to the Middle East and now might be confident they can do the same for another England international in Grealish. It's believed Toney's success with Al-Ahli has given the Saudi league a huge PR lift after previously being seen only as a league where players head to for lucrative contracts. ‌ But after Toney received an England call-up from Thomas Tuchel, chiefs are confident the profile of their competition is increasing. Last month, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claimed that Grealish was indeed on the radar of Saudi officials, who were "considering" a move for the City winger. He tweeted: "Saudi Pro League clubs are planning on making big moves in the summer window again with approaches being considered for players such as Bruno Fernandes, Jack Grealish and Victor Osimhen." ‌ Fight for place at City Despite all the speculation that Grealish could be forced to seek pastures news, there is also every chance that he could be forced to stay put and fight for his place at the Etihad. Grealish still has a contract until 2027 and many clubs could be put off his eye-watering salary at City. The club could have to supplement his wages if they want to send him on loan and the player will be reluctant to take a pay cut by moving elsewhere permanently. ‌ Grealish was given a handful of opportunities last season. He managed 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times - though only 16 of those outings came as starts. Sky Sports claimed that Grealish may struggle to find a club due to his transfer fee and contract, which means he might have to wait until the end of the window - possibly even until deadline day - to find a new club. If a deal becomes too complex to pull off, Grealish might have no choice but to stay where he is and battle for game time.
