I called my daughter 'Viola' but no one gets the unique way we pronounce it right. Other mums struggle and I know my little girl will face confusion... but I don't care

I recently brought my two young daughters to our local library. While the children played with their toys and books, I got chatting to a friend we'd bumped into. She turned to talk directly to my eldest and called out 'Viola'.
Yet Viola, who is five, simply didn't respond. It's not that she is badly behaved, or away with the fairies… but rather that, once again, another adult failed to pronounce her name correctly.

10 brands that put sustainability first

If you're looking to shop sustainable, there are a ton of brands that put the environment first. From Cariuma shoes made with vegan leather, to Stanley Quenchers designed to reduce the use of plastic bottles, here are nine sustainable products you'll love and use for years to come. Cariuma Canvas Shoes - $98 Dropps Odor & Stain Detergent -$21.67 These pods reduce single-use plastic and use super-concentrated formulas to minimize your carbon footprint. The Odor & Stain detergent in particular can fight the toughest scents and eliminate the grimiest stains on your clothes, thanks to the brand's five-enzyme blend. The brand also derives 58 percent of its ingredients from renewable resources. And, it's also cruelty-free. Stanley The Quencher H2.0 - $35 A personal favorite of mine, this reusable water bottle has made me eliminate plastic bottles from my life. It comes in multiple sizes and colors, and since it features insulation, your hot drinks will stay hot and your cold drinks will stay cool. It's also built from recycled stainless steel, and it will easily fit into your car cup holder with ease. Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum Vitamin C Alternative - $82 Caudalie's serum is great for reducing the appearance of dark spots, and the brand uses a recyclable bottle and dropper for convenience. It includes vine sap (from sustainably harvested grapes) to even out your skin tone, olive squalene for hydration, and other ingredients to brighten your skin. You can currently shop it at Sephora for under $100. Blueland Dishwasher Detergent Starter Set - $25 Another great eco-friendly brand is Blueland, which is 100 percent plastic-free and uses compostable paper packaging for all its products. This set comes with a reusable tin to hold your dish tablets, and 60 tablets in total which will leave your dishes spick and span. It can easily fight coffee or tea stains, as well as baked-on food stains. Try them out now for yourself. Moroccanoil Treatment Original - $48 Made with argan oil and linseed extract, this oil helps tame your hair and improve the quality of it too. Just a small amount on towel-dried hair can go a long way. And, the best part is the brand puts sustainability first, using recyclable packaging and partnering with multiple organizations, including Oceana, where the brand donates proceeds periodically to support and protect the ocean's biodiversity. Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper - $38/24 rolls Made entirely from recyclable paper, this toilet paper will keep you clean AND protect the environment. It might not be the softest out there (as it's not made using virgin trees), but it is the most environmentally friendly option and is much cheaper than most big-name brands. Lomi Food Recycler - $299.99 (21% off) Why throw out all that produce in your trash? Simply put any food waste into your Lomi and the recycler will turn it into natural fertilizer in just 24 hours. The brand says using Lomi will reduce your carbon footprint by a massive 127 percent — and right now the product is on sale for a cool 21 percent off. Everlane The Must-Have Shirt - $150 Everlane puts sustainability first by reducing environmental impact straight in their factories, and refusing to use any harsh chemicals that may harm the planet while making their clothing. This beautiful silk shirt is soft to the touch, great for all day wear, and machine washable. Shop it now in 11 colors.
