British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly admits to reckless driving in Australia while awaiting trial
A British YouTuber and rapper known as Yung Filly admitted in an Australian court on Thursday to reckless driving while he was awaiting trial on charges of raping a woman three months ago.
The 29-year-old, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared briefly in the Perth Magistrates Court charged with speeding at 158 kilometers (98 miles) per hour in a 100 kph (62 mph) zone in the Western Australia state capital last month. Speeding becomes reckless driving at 45 kph (28 mph) above the speed limit.
His lawyer Joanne Oliver told the court he would plead guilty to a reckless driving charge at his next court appearance on Jan. 30.
Barrientos faces potential penalties of 9 months in prison, a 6,000 Australian dollar ($3,750) fine and a disqualification from driving for at least six months.
Dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans, Barrientos did not speak to news media as he walked from the court to a waiting van.
Barrientos first appeared in the same court in October when he was charged with raping and choking a woman in a hotel room after a performance during a national tour.
The Colombia-born entertainer, who has 1.8 million followers on YouTube, had been arrested in the east coast city of Brisbane and extradited across the country.
He is accused of assaulting a woman in her 20s in a hotel room on Sept. 28 after he had performed in a Perth nightclub at the outset of the Australian tour that included Melbourne and Sydney before it was to end in Brisbane. He was arrested before the Brisbane performance.
He is charged with four counts of rape, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of impeding the woman's normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to her neck.
His bail conditions include that he does not leave Western Australia.
Barrientos started his YouTube career in 2013 and music career in 2017. He has also hosted or appeared in several television programs.
He won a MOBO Award, an annual British music award presentation honoring achievements in 'music of Black origin,' in the Best Media Personality category in 2021.

Luis Diaz breaks silence on his Liverpool future with a huge transfer admission - after Premier League winners 'reject Barcelona's approach'
Luis Diaz has broken his silence on his Liverpool future after the Reds reportedly turned down an approach from Barcelona. The winger's future is uncertain as he enters the final two years of his deal and Mail Sport understands he is due to discuss the situation with club chiefs. Diaz has enjoyed a successful time at Anfield since joining from Porto midway through the 2021-22 season, winning five trophies and scoring 41 goals. Liverpool rejected an approach from Barca and are seemingly happy to let him run his contract down and leave on a free, The Athletic has reported. Dias, speaking on international duty with Colombia, did not commit his future either way. 'I'm very happy at Liverpool,' he said. 'They've treated me well since the first day. 'We're talking with other clubs. It's the transfer window, it's normal. 'If Liverpool renews my contract, or if I have to stay the 2 years I have left, I'll be happy. It's up to them.'

Tom Felton reprises Draco Malfoy character for Harry Potter play
The Surrey-born actor, who starred in all the film adaptations of JK Rowling's fantasy novel until the last movie in 2011, will make a comeback as Harry Potter's school bully on Broadway at the Lyric Theatre in New York later this year. The production said he was the 'first actor from the films to reprise' their role on stage, and this will be Felton's Broadway debut. He said: 'Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. A post shared by Tom Felton (@t22felton) 'Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. 'It's surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. 'I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.' Felton, 37, made his West End debut in the supernatural thriller 2:22 – A Ghost Story in 2022. He will begin his run in Harry Potter And The Cursed Child on November 11 for a limited 19 weeks, the production said on Thursday. Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender said: 'It's not lost on us that this is a cultural moment charged with nostalgia, evolution, and emotion. 'Tom's return to Hogwarts bridges generations of fans and breathes new life into a beloved story. We're beyond thrilled to welcome Tom back 'home' but also into a new family: our Broadway company. 'We can't wait to see him inhabit this role once again with the same depth, gravity, and humanity he has always brought to Draco.' The play, written by Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne, began in 2016 in London and has had a Broadway run since 2018. It was co-devised by Rowling, and is set 19 years after the events of the seventh and final book, with Ministry of Magic employee Harry and his wife Ginny Weasley waving off their youngest son Albus Severus to school. The two-part play, which stretches over five hours, sees Albus struggle at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with the weight of his family legacy and go to extreme and dangerous lengths to right the wrongs of the past. Since the ending of the film franchise, Felton has been in 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and had recurring roles in the TV series Murder In The First, The Flash and Origin. He has also used his voice in the Harry Potter video games, based on the movie, and featured in the special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who played Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The seven Harry Potter books are set to be brought to the small screen by HBO, with production beginning at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in summer 2025. The young stars have been cast with Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron, while the new Draco has not yet been confirmed. Earlier this year, British actor Paapa Essiedu and US star John Lithgow were confirmed as the cruel Professor Severus Snape and Hogwarts headmaster Professor Albus Dumbledore, respectively. Also joining is Welsh comedian and actor Paul Whitehouse as the magic-less Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch, and Hot Fuzz actor Nick Frost as the friendly groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid.

Seven Church of England clergy to face disciplinary action over Makin review
Seven Church of England clergy, including a bishop, will face disciplinary proceedings over the same abuse report which triggered the resignation of Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. The Church has confirmed retired former Bishop of Durham Paul Butler, and Sue Colman, wife of Colman's mustard heir Sir Jamie Colman, are among those who could be banned from ministry as a result of the Makin review. Published last year, the review found abuse carried out by Christian camp leader John Smyth was known about by those within the Church, including Welby, and was not acted upon. Welby stepped down in November, and has spoken of feeling a "deep sense of personal failure" about how he handled allegations about the most prolific abuser associated with the Church. After Welby's resignation, the Church's national safeguarding team said they would look into all clergy criticised by the report. The seven facing disciplinary proceedings are: The Makin report concluded Mrs Colman, associate minister at St Leonard's Church in Oakley, Hampshire, was aware of Smyth's abuse before being ordained. It also noted that she and her husband visited Smyth in Africa in the 1990s and funded the Smyths through a personal trust. Around a week after the Makin report was published, the Diocese of Winchester said Mrs Colman had been asked to 'step back from all ministerial duties'. The Church confirmed on Thursday that former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey, Revd Paul Perkin and Revd Hugh Palmer will face no action. Proceedings under the Clergy Discipline Measure can range from a conditional discharge where no penalty is imposed, to removal from office, resignation by consent and a lifetime ban from ministry. As there is a 12-month time limit on cases being brought, the Church's national safeguarding team had to ask for permission to bring disciplinary action 'out of time'. Permission was granted in only seven of the ten cases and the Church's team said it 'entirely respects' the decision from the 'independent judicial process'. John Smyth was a British barrister who abused more than 100 children and young men in the UK and Africa. He died in South Africa in 2018. Among his victims were a number of pupils at Winchester College in the 1970s and 80s. He chaired Christian charity The Iwerne Trust, which ran religious holiday camps. He is said to have subjected his victims to traumatic physical, sexual, psychological and spiritual attacks. The Church's national safeguarding team said it will make no further comment on the cases while disciplinary proceedings are under way and no timeline has been given for when they might conclude. It said victims, survivors and all those criticised in the Makin review have been informed and have been offered support.
