FSSAI issued strong advisory for Food Business companies not to use '100%' in food labelling
New Delhi [India], May 30 (ANI): The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Friday issued a strong advisory to not use the term '100%' in food labelling as the authority believes that it is misleading to consumers.'The apex food regulator has asked all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to refrain from using the term on food labels, packaging, and promotional content, owing to its ambiguity and potential for misinterpretation within the existing regulatory provisions,' FSSAI said in a statement.FSSAI also issued an advisory on Thursday, highlighting the 'noticeable surge in the usage of the term '100% across food product labels and promotional platforms.'According to the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018, the term '100%' is not defined or referenced in any manner under the FSS Act, 2006, or the Rules and Regulations made thereunder.Sub-regulation 10(7) of the aforementioned regulations strictly prohibits any advertisement or claim that undermines other manufacturers or influences consumer perception in a misleading manner.Furthermore, the statement also says that, 'as per Sub-regulation 4(1) it shall be ensured that the Claims must be truthful, unambiguous, meaningful, not misleading and help consumers to comprehend the information provided.'Therefore, FSSAI says the use of the term '100%', irrespective of its usage in isolation or combined with other descriptors, is likely to create a false impression of absolute purity or superiority and may create an impression and the authority believes that this could mislead consumers into believing that other comparable products in the market are inferior or non-compliant with regulatory standards.In light of the above-mentioned concern, FSSAI advises Food Business Operators not to use the term '100%' on food product labels, packaging, or in any form of promotional content. Rajasthan: Bank employee withdraws Rs 4.58 crore from customers' in Kota, arrested

Sub-inspector (SI) Udyog Nagar Police Station Mohammad Ibrahim told reporters, 'Bank officer Sakshi Gupta took Rs 4.58 crore from 43 customers' accounts. A case has been registered, and she has been arrested'. 'Sakshi Gupta had invested this money in the share market through a demat account,' the officer added. More details are awaited. (ANI)

New Delhi [India], June 8 (ANI): Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday described his meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy as 'fruitful' as they discussed avenues to deepen bilateral trade and strengthen collaboration across various sectors to 'unlock' the full potential of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. We both expressed our appreciation towards the work done in finalising the historic India-UK FTA, which is poised to give further boost to our growing ties. A day earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and said his substantive contribution to the remarkable progress in comprehensive strategic partnership is appreciative. Gujarat: CM Patel inaugurates new development center of Infosys at GIFT city
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 7 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while inaugurating the new Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City, reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to advancing the AI industry by implementing artificial intelligence-based systems across the state. He stated that the establishment of an AI Centre of Excellence at GIFT City is aimed at creating a unified platform that brings together solution developers, experts, professionals, and startups under one roof. According to the release, the newly operational Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City will focus on delivering advanced financial technology solutions under the FinTech framework. Additionally, it will place a strong emphasis on global services and innovation. In addition, the centre will provide advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven insights specifically tailored for financial institutions. It will also focus on delivering secure and transparent solutions for digital payments, smart contracts, and asset tokenization. Established with an investment of Rs32 crore, the Infosys Development Center is expected to create employment opportunities for over 1,000 professionals, further mentioned in the release. Expressing his gratitude to Infosys for establishing this Development Center in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that GIFT City--envisioned under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi--has emerged as the nation's hub for technology and fintech, hosting several leading global IT, fintech, and new-age technology firms. He further added that the definition of technology has transformed over the past decade as a result of the Digital India Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the Prime Minister's leadership, several policies and missions have been initiated over the past 11 years to give focused impetus to IT-enabled industries, semiconductors, and the electronics sector.
