Predators (2010)
2025 is the comeback year for the Predator franchise thanks to Predator: Killer of Killers and Predator: Badlands. Things were not always this positive for the franchise, as many of the Predator movies released between 1987's Predator and 2022's Prey were not successful. The lone bright spot was 2010's Predators, Nimród Antal's standalone sequel to Predator 2.
A group of murderers are transported to a mysterious alien planet, where they become the prey of a group of Predators who hunt humans for sport. One of the murderers, a mercenary named Royce (Adrien Brody), deduces that they must work together to free a captive Predator and convince it to help them get back to Earth. Backed by several terrific action sequences, Predators is a wildly entertaining thriller that still holds up 15 years later.

Presence (2025)
Don't take Steven Soderbergh for granted. Many filmmakers of Soderbergh's stature could coast for the rest of their careers. No one experiments more with the medium than Soderbergh. Take Presence, for example. Soderbergh crafts a supernatural thriller seen through the eyes of the spirit occupying the house.
The Presence follows the house's new inhabitants: Rebekah Payne (Lucy Liu), her husband Chris (Chris Sullivan), and two children, Tyler (Eddy Maday) and Chloe (Callina Liang). On the surface, Presence might be viewed as a horror movie. It's not. Presence is a thrilling family drama about grief and trauma. What other filmmaker could pull that off? Only Soderbergh, man.
Stream Presence on Hulu.
Just Go with It (2011)
Life lesson — the funny guys get the girl. Well, at least that's true in Adam Sandler movies. Sandler plays a womanizing plastic surgeon in Just Go With It. After getting his heart broken, Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler) changes his attitude by pretending to be married to sleep with women.
After meeting the beautiful Palmer (Brooklyn Decker), Danny takes the scheme to another level by having his assistant, Katherine (Jennifer Aniston), pose as his future ex-wife. As he spends more time with Katherine, Danny starts to question if he's in love with the wrong woman. Sandler could have chemistry with a tree, so it's no surprise that he and Aniston are a great on-screen tandem.

Decades After Its Joint-Venture Journey Began, Hulu's Sole Ownership By Disney 'Finally Resolved' With $439M Payment To NBCU, Bob Iger Exults

The long and winding road of Hulu, which started in the pre-smartphone era as a streaming joint venture involving NBC and Fox, has concluded with the finalizing of Disney's buy-out of Comcast. Disney is paying an extra $438.7 million to Comcast's NBCUniversal, on top of the $8.6 billion it committed in 2023 under the terms established in a put/call arrangement unveiled in 2019. That deal, which was accompanied by Disney's $71.3 billion acquisition of most of 21st Century Fox, fueled Disney's streaming ambitions as it prepared to launch Disney+. A $27.5 billion floor value was set, with multiple third-party appraisals then entering the discussions. Disney's appraisal, not surprisingly, came in below the $27.5 billion level, while NBCU rendered an estimate that was 'substantially' higher, Disney said in an SEC filing. Disney CEO Bob Iger and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts publicly jockeyed over the value of the service in a sector increasingly defined by streaming. The transaction, completed Monday, 'takes into account the valuation of a third appraiser,' the filing explained. Had the NBCU appraiser prevailed, the result would have been a payment to Comcast/NBCU of about $5 billion, Disney said. The buyout is slated to close on or before July 24. 'We are pleased this is finally resolved,' Iger said in a statement. 'We have had a productive partnership with NBCUniversal, and we wish them the best of luck. Completing the Hulu acquisition paves the way for a deeper and more seamless integration of Hulu's general entertainment content with Disney+ and, soon, with ESPN's direct-to-consumer product, providing an unrivaled value proposition for consumers.' Comcast said in a statement provided to Deadline, 'Hulu was a great start for us in streaming that generated nearly $10 billion in proceeds for Comcast and created an important audience for NBCUniversal's world-class content. We wish Disney well with Hulu and appreciate the cooperative way our teams managed the partnership.' Disney has been more closely integrating Hulu with its Disney+ flagship and its linear networks in recent years. Hulu remains a key participant in Disney's vertical bundles as well as a successful one involving a third-party, HBO Max. After NBC and Fox hopped onboard the streaming pioneer ahead of its official founding in 2007, Disney soon followed and Time Warner would go on to take a 10% stake. In-fighting often hindered the progress of Hulu as its strategy continuously shifted. While each participant in the JV fell away as companies pursued their own independent strategies, the irony is that a Hulu-style coming together of legacy players is now coalescing as media giants grapple with the costs and murky financials of streaming compared with the lucrative pay-TV business. Christian Slater opens up about 'weird' reality of fame after 5 decades in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Christian Slater received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after five decades in the business. The 55-year-old "Heathers" star reflected on his many years in the entertainment business while accepting his star on the Walk of Fame, telling Fox News Digital fame "is always weird." "It's tricky. There's cameras everywhere, you're really a lot more under the microscope than you were, so it's got its fair share of challenges to deal with," he explained. "Fame is always weird. It's always a weird thing, and right now it feels like a nice level. I mean, this is humbling. It gives me the opportunity to be thrilled and also walk all over myself, so I think it's great." While fame can be a strange road to navigate, Slater said he feels "very lucky that I get to do something that I truly love to do" and that he hopes his love for his career creates a "snowball effect" which continues to bring him "the opportunity to work with better and better people and just have more and more fun." During his speech at the ceremony, Slater reflected on his long history with Hollywood Boulevard, the famous street the Walk of Fame is found on. He explained that his father lived there when he was a kid, adding that he later performed at the Pantages Theater with Dick Van Dyke and even learned the skateboard on the boulevard when prepping for his movie, "Gleaming the Cube." "Fame is always weird. It's always a weird thing, and right now it feels like a nice level. I mean, this is humbling. It gives me the opportunity to be thrilled and also walk all over myself, so I think it's great." He later added, "My heroes are Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Jack Nicholson, Spencer Tracy, Humphrey Bogart and too many others to name, and they all have delivered some incredible performances and all have stars on this boulevard, and to be able to share some space with all of them is an honor and a dream come true." WATCH: CHRISTIAN SLATER REFLECTS ON HIS DECADES-LONG CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD Sarah Michelle Gellar also reflected on Slater's performance as she paid tribute to him during the ceremony, calling his performance as J.D. in "Heathers" as one that "defined the GenX counterculture," adding that she had "more than one Christian Slater poster hanging in my teenage bedroom." She then went on to praise his performances in "Pump Up the Volume," "True Romance," "Dr. Death," "Dear John" and "Mr. Robot," adding that "not many actors can claim to have been culturally significant across four decades." "Most actors can only dream of having a career as long as yours, Christian, and the most amazing part of it is that you continue to redefine how we see you," she said in her speech. "You are an actor with multiple legacies who will feel like just as fresh of a discovery to teenagers watching you for the first time 20 years from now as you did when I first saw you. All of this to say, fair is fair. The honor is richly deserved a dozen times over." WATCH: SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR IS HAPPY TO CALL CHRISTIAN SLATER A FRIEND While reflecting on his many years as an actor, Slater called receiving a star on the Walk of Fame "a wonderful ending to a chapter of my life," which still has many more chapters left to go, and "a highlight and something I will treasure for the rest of my life." He also took the time to thank all the people in his life "who truly love me and I truly love," including his children and his wife, Brittany Lopez. "When you talk about having a partner and someone on your side on this journey of life, I couldn't have gotten any luckier and I couldn't be any more grateful for what you have brought to my life. I feel safe, I feel loved, I feel cared for, I feel seen," he said. "Having a star on Hollywood Boulevard is great, but none of this would have been possible without my family and the love I have in my life today."
