As previously announced,Children of the Discordancereturned to Florence'sPitti Uomofor its 108th edition today to join other Asian brandsPost Archive Faction(PAF) andHomme Plisse Issey Miyakeas special guests. DesignerHideaki Shikamadid not hold back, bringing forth an expressive range of cut-up and meticulously reworked garments that reflect the chaotic energy of defiant youth cultures and urban life.
In an official statement, Shikama likened his and his peers' early fashion to DJing — an appropriate analogy for the collection, defined by remixed, chopped-and-screwed sensibilities. 'DJs avoid playing the same tracks,' he said. 'That applies to the clothes we choose to wear. This local code lives on in everything I do.'
For structured skirts, jackets, trousers, and shorts, Shikama enlisted a close friend and London-trained pattern maker to incorporate fine tailoring. However, the label maintains its' edgy sensibilities through further processes like patinated over-dye, deconstructed silhouettes, and asymmetrical compositions. Patchwork suiting combines tonal hues of solid black, navy, khaki, and gray fabrics in varied compositions, and elsewhere, dark fabric scraps are quilted into a horizontally striped textile used for blousons, trousers, and jackets.
The concept of 'discordance' is materialized by halved garments sewn together down the middle, including a traditional Japanese souvenir jacket boasting animal motifs, over-dyed sweat pants, a graphic football jersey, and a matching tracksuit. Overlapping and clashing with one another, other key prints, trims, and details include paisley patterns, graffiti graphics, faded crests, technicolor jewel embellishments, and, of course, distressing galore.
Finally, Children of the Discordance closed its presentation with an unconventional bridal number composed of crumpled white and black t-shirts and finished with a bejeweled cross adorning a hood-veil hybrid.

She wore her signature golden brown/honey blonde tresses down bone straight, and kept her makeup bronzy to match. During her set, the five-time Grammy Award winner sang a collection of her hits including "Emotions," "We Belong Together," "Always Be My Baby," "Touch My Body," "Hero," and more, as well as her latest new track, "Type Dangerous," released on June 6 (the tune has already earned the singer her landmark 50th career hit on the Billboard Hot 100, by the way). On social media, fans reacted in the only way they could—with pure adoration for the longtime music industry mainstay. Fans flooded into the comment section of a YouTube video of the performance with praise, writing things like, "I don't understand why people expect Mariah Carey to do stunts on stage when new artists are praised for the bare minimum this woman has been in the music business for 35 years and she's still killing it" and "I was there!!!! Not a hearsay. She sounded sublime and looked ravishing. That Hero part almost had me tears. I got to listen to Mariah live for the first time." A third gushed, "I don't know what Time Machine she went into but she needs to keep it up. I mean this was extraordinary. She sounded amazing, looked amazing, was confident, JUST PERFECT. This is the Mariah I grew up with," while a fourth added, "wtf is with the air in the UK?? everytime she's there her vocals improve 10xs over and the energy magically reappears. this was so great i'm crying." "Wow... she sounds astonishing. This is why real fans don't argue back and forwardth about her voice because we all know and understand that sure she may be tired or lazy or preserving her voice at times... but when she's comfortable and in a good place she can still sing impeccably. Long live the Queen," someone else penned. 'Jurassic World: Rebirth' brings fans back to dangerous dinosaur realm

By Francesca Halliwell and Danielle Broadway LONDON (Reuters) -Scarlett Johansson's role in "Jurassic World: Rebirth" made her recall her earliest memories of the dinosaur film franchise. The "Black Widow" actor recalled seeing the first "Jurassic Park" film at the movie theater when she was 10 years old. "It imprinted on me very deeply," she told Reuters at the London premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. "For the next three decades, I was like, I would have done anything to be in a Jurassic movie in any capacity," she added. The franchise, created by author Michael Crichton, has spawned several films, merchandising deals and video games. "Jurassic World: Rebirth," directed by Gareth Edwards, follows a team of specialists that embarks on an expedition to a forbidden island, home to a research facility for the original "Jurassic Park". Some of the specialists include Johansson and "Bridgerton" actor Jonathan Bailey, who must obtain DNA samples from three dinosaurs to achieve a life-saving medical breakthrough. The Universal Pictures film arrives in theaters on July 2. For Rupert Friend, who also plays one of the specialists, this installment in the franchise is exhilarating. "I love adventure. I love being taken on a ride where you don't know what's going to happen. I love the unknown. I love risk," he said. For well-known science fiction director, Edwards, the pressure for the film to succeed did not hit until he arrived at the premiere. "It's all front and centre here. It feels a bit weird, to be honest. I can't quite get my head around it," the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" director added.

COLDPLAY TO RE-RELEASE ALBUMS ON ECORECORDS MADE FROM PLASTIC BOTTLES

LONDON, June 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing their sustainability mission, Coldplay are re-releasing all of their albums as clear 140g EcoRecords made from recycled plastic bottles, produced using injection-moulding technology which reduces carbon emissions during manufacture by an impressive 85% compared with traditional vinyl production. An EcoRecord sounds and looks as great as a traditional vinyl record, but it has been manufactured using 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a lightweight and durable material that is easily recyclable and designed for a circular economy, significantly contributing to reduced shipping emissions and end-of-life environmental impact. Each 140g injection-moulded LP is made from, on average, nine recycled PET plastic bottles. These bottles are recovered from consumers as part of a process known as post-consumer recycling (PCR), where they are cleaned, processed into small pellets and then molded into new items. While EcoRecords can be made using either virgin PET or recycled PET (rPET), Coldplay has chosen to use only rPET for all their EcoRecord products. This pioneering move follows the successful launch of the band's 10th album, Moon Music, last year, which was already released on 100% recycled PET EcoRecords, the world's first album released as a 140g EcoRecord rPET LP. Coldplay continues to lead the charge in making music more sustainable, building on efforts such as cutting the carbon footprint of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour by 59% to date. Jen Ivory, Managing Director, Parlophone, says: "We are incredibly proud to partner with artists such as Coldplay who share our commitment to a more sustainable future for music. The shift to EcoRecord LP for their releases is a testament to what's possible when innovation meets intention. It's not just about a new product; it's about pioneering manufacturing that significantly reduces environmental impact, providing fans with the same high-quality audio experience while setting a new standard for physical music production." Pre-orders are available from today, with the official release of all EcoRecords planned for 15th August. Albums being released on EcoRecord: Parachutes A Rush of Blood to the Head X&Y Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends Mylo Xyloto Ghost Stories A Head Full Of Dreams Everyday Life Music Of The Spheres Images for media use Please note the records should be referred to as EcoRecords, records, or LPs - not as vinyl.
