Kennywood nominated for best amusement park, roller coaster in new USA Today polls
Kennywood has been nominated in two new USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards polls.
The park has received nominations for the best amusement park while the fan-favorite "Phantom's Revenge" roller coaster has been nominated again for the best coaster in the country.
The park and the "Phantom" finished in the top ten in their respective polls last year, according to a news release from Kennywood's parent company.

Last week, it was announced that Kennywood, with other Pittsburgh amusement parks Idlewild and Sandcastle, was
being sold
to Herschend Family Entertainment. The privately-owned entertainment company will acquire Parques Reunidos' more than 20 Palace Entertainment parks.
Herschend is the same company that owns many award-winning theme parks like Wild Adventures and Dollywood.
Many people who spoke with KDKA-TV last week said they are excited and cautiously optimistic about the new ownership group taking charge.
"I just think it's important that they put what the people of Pittsburgh want first and keep improving it, we all love Kennywood, there's no place like it Allegheny County so we want it to stick around and keep getting better," Jon Tirpak said.
In the announcement, Herschend said it was "committed to ensuring a smooth transition for employees, guests, and communities. No immediate changes are planned for daily operations as the company thoughtfully integrates these properties into its portfolio."
Both companies told KDKA-TV that the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, and the deal is expected to close after that.

will officially reopen
for its longest-ever season on Saturday, April 12.

"Now, discovering she put a hit out to kill me more than once, got blackmailed and spent almost all our savings to keep it quiet … This has led me to fear [for] my life,' he continued, through tears. 'I've hired armed security for weeks. Not knowing [whether] it was over or not.' Aaron, who filed for divorce from Victoria in March, told the judge that ever since he found out about the plot, he has been 'looking over' his shoulder and going through therapy to understand everything that has happened. He then described the feeling as a 'heartbreak no one should go through in life," stating, "The fact that this person did all this to me with no worry, no care or love in her heart for me, I will never feel the same." "I will never feel safe or be the same because of what she did. Especially when she gets out one day," Aaron added. 'Whether she [gets] minimum or maximum time, I still won't feel safe whenever she's released. I feel like this deserves prison time." Victoria was later sentenced to a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 90 months in prison, according to KVVU-TV. She previously accepted a plea deal in April, pleading guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit murder. Victoria was initially taken into custody on March 6 on charges of soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder. She allegedly conspired with convicted murderer Grant Amato, with whom she began a relationship in March 2024, after seeing him in the Paramount+ true crime docuseries, Ctrl + Alt + Desire, per a police report. After Victoria and Amato met, she allegedly conspired to kill Aaron with her new lover's help — allegedly going as far as discussing payments for his murder. Catholic group calls out Tim Cook, Apple TV+ for show's 'Eucharistic desecration'
A Catholic group is calling out Apple CEO Tim Cook and Apple TV+ in a letter demanding an apology and removal of a "Eucharistic desecration" scene in one of its shows. "As the nation's largest lay Catholic advocacy organization, we write to express our concern about a blasphemous anti-Catholic scene in the Apple TV+ show, Your Friends and Neighbors," CatholicVote said in a Monday letter obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital. "Episode 6 of the series depicts two characters breaking into a Catholic church," the letter, signed by Josh Mercer, vice president of CatholicVote, reads. "The male character steals Eucharistic hosts from the tabernacle, which they eat as a snack. The man flippantly remarks about how they are eating the Body of Christ. The man feeds a host to the female character and feigns blessing her. Then they begin engaging in romantic activity in the pews before the pastor walks in, and they flee the church." CatholicVote's website called it a "shocking depiction of Eucharistic desecration." "As Catholics, we have believed for 2,000 years that the Eucharist is not simply a piece of bread," Mercer wrote.
