Roman Dolidze secured a decision victory over Marvin Vettori in their middleweight rematch at UFC Vegas 104, held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Dolidze, who had lost to Vettori in 2023, improved on his previous performance by outlanding his opponent in significant strikes across five rounds.
In their first encounter, which was a three-round fight, Vettori landed 106 significant strikes compared to Dolidze's 71.
However, in Saturday's five-round bout, Dolidze made a comeback by landing 141 strikes to Vettori's 111, showcasing his increased accuracy and power.
This performance helped him claim the win, avenging his earlier loss.
Dolidze's victory extends his winning streak to three, while Vettori, who hadn't fought since his loss to Jared Cannonier in June 2023, has now suffered two consecutive defeats.
Vettori, who had previously fought for the UFC middleweight title, now finds himself on a two-fight losing streak and with a 2-4 record since his 2021 title shot against Israel Adesanya.
Dolidze, who entered UFC Vegas 104 ranked No. 12 in the middleweight division, now looks set to rise in the rankings. Meanwhile, Vettori entered the fight as the No. 8 ranked fighter in the division.
In the co-main event, Chidi Njokuani stunned Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos with a knockout victory. Despite missing weight, Njokuani's win is expected to propel him into the UFC's welterweight top 15.
Chidi Njokuani earned a stoppage win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in their welterweight clash at UFC Vegas 104, despite the fight being contested at a catchweight due to Njokuani missing weight.
From the start, Njokuani utilised his superior kicking game to maintain distance and control the pace of the fight. Dos Santos, known for his movement and agility, struggled to land clean strikes, managing only nine significant strikes in the first round.
Despite a short right hook from Dos Santos that briefly staggered Njokuani, the latter quickly regained his composure and ended the round strong with 23 significant strikes.
In the second round, Njokuani's strategy of keeping Dos Santos at bay with his kicks continued to frustrate the Brazilian.
As Dos Santos became more aggressive in an attempt to close the distance, Njokuani timed his movements perfectly, grabbing Dos Santos in a Thai clinch and delivering a knee to the head that sent his opponent to the canvas. Njokuani followed up with several elbows on the ground, securing the knockout victory.

Canelo vs Crawford announced: 'Fight of the Century' to be promoted by Turki Alalshikh, Zuffa boxing

The highly anticipated super-fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Terence Crawford is set for Saturday, September 13 2025, in Las Vegas. The two boxing titans will clash for the undisputed super-middleweight title, a fight that has been billed as the "fight of the century." Alvarez, the Mexican pound-for-pound champion, will face the undefeated American Crawford in what promises to be a historic showdown. The event will be streamed globally on Netflix, drawing worldwide attention. Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, confirmed the details of the fight. He has dubbed it the "fight of the century" and revealed that this would be the first boxing event promoted in collaboration with UFC president Dana White. "Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing, and this is right up my alley," White said. "Are you kidding me? The first boxing fight I'm going to promote is Canelo versus Crawford? It's literally a once-in-a-lifetime fight." Alvarez, 34, holds all four major world titles in the super-middleweight division. His most recent victory over William Scull in May 2025 saw him reclaim the IBF title and reaffirm his undisputed champion status. After the fight, Crawford was confirmed as his next opponent, with both men facing off in the ring. "I'm ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world," Alvarez said in a statement. With 63 wins from 67 professional bouts, including just two defeats and two draws, Alvarez is eager to add another triumph to his illustrious career. Crawford, 37, a four-division, two-weight undisputed champion, will move up from light-middleweight for the bout. With a perfect record of 41-0, Crawford has made it clear that he believes he is the best in the world. "My perfect record speaks for itself," Crawford said. "I am the best fighter in the world, and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top." The fight will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and the build-up will include a three-city media tour. The fighters will first visit Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 20 June, followed by stops in New York (22 June) and Las Vegas (27 June). The Alvarez-Crawford showdown is expected to captivate boxing fans around the globe, marking a monumental moment in the sport.

Neymar tests positive for COVID-19, Santos say

Brazil forward Neymar has been sidelined after testing positive for COVID-19, his club Santos said in a statement as quoted by Brazilian media. The 33-year-old began showing symptoms on Thursday and was immediately removed from team activities. Medical tests later confirmed the viral infection, the Brazil Serie A side said on Saturday. The club did not disclose how long Neymar will be out of action and did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Neymar is already ruled out of Thursday's league match at Fortaleza through suspension. The Fortaleza match will be Santos' last outing before the Brazilian league pauses for the June 14-July 13 Club World Cup in the United States. The former Barcelona forward's future at Santos remains undecided, with his contract set to expire on June 30. Limited by injury, he has made 12 appearances for Santos across all competitions this season, contributing three goals and three assists.

Gabriel commits to Arsenal until 2029

Arsenal's Brazilian defensive rock Gabriel Magalhaes committed his future to the north London club until 2029 on Friday, extending a partnership that has become the cornerstone of manager Mikel Arteta's English Premier League title-chasing project. The 27-year-old centre back, whose existing deal ran until 2027, has proven indispensable since his 27 million pounds ($36.53 million) move from Lille in 2020, with the club's recent title challenge crumbling precisely when injury forced him to the sidelines. "I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I've learned a lot," Gabriel said after putting pen to paper at Emirates Stadium. "I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too." Gabriel's partnership with William Saliba has blossomed into one of the Premier League's most formidable defensive pairings since 2022, providing the foundation for Arsenal's resurgence as title contenders. His aerial prowess has also made him a persistent threat from set-pieces. The Brazilian's true value to Arsenal became painfully apparent during the final two months of the 2024-25 campaign when a hamstring injury derailed the Gunners' charge. Without their defensive lynchpin, Arsenal's title challenge disintegrated, and Paris St Germain ended their Champions League dreams in the semi-finals. Gabriel's recommitment represents a significant boost for Arteta's squad building. "I'm so proud to sign a new contract," Gabriel added. "I love the supporters, my team-mates, I love this stadium. We continue together for the future." With 210 appearances already under his belt, Gabriel's extended stay suggests Arsenal's defensive foundation is now secured for their next chapter of trophy hunting.
